    The area is really nice.

The area is really nice. The hotel stay was very nice, as was their pool and Tiki Bar. However, that's where it ends. Lake Lure (as well as Chimney Rock) has no where to eat breakfast, as everything seems to open at 11 or after. The swimming area of Lake Lure closes too early (5:30 - we arrive at 5:47) and is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. So we basically drove 3 hours to swim at the hotel, not eat breakfast and leave. We ended up driving to Lake James and swimming there for free (Lake Lure charges to use their beach).

It was an excellent three night stop on the way to our final destination. Perfect location and the lower lake has alot to offer. I wish we found it earlier in our stay. I would definitely return to this property with my family. During the current pandemic there isn't much open to dine out,,,,most only open on weekends..Our stay was M-Thurs. We easily adapted going to the local grocery & cook in a fully equipped kitchen . The home has some necessary items there so we didn't have to purchase,,salt, pepper, spices, etc.

Very nice place to visit to do just about anything.

Very nice place to visit to do just about anything. If you would like to relax, go to the lake, go fishing, go on a boat ride, explore caves, walk around - there's something for everyone. There's a very charming town that has nearby restaurants, and a grocery store not far away.

Our family enjoys the small-town feel. Around 1500 folks live there year-round. We love nature and being near the water and mountains. Chimney Rock is a very short drive and perfect for specialty shops and antique shopping.

Incredible scenery of mountains, rock formations and sparking lake. The flowering bridge was a lovely surprise, the boat tour was great and the walking paths. If you have never been to Chimney Rock ... it Is so worth it!

Beautiful area. Loved the boat tour of the lake. Lake Lure has an interesting history, and a variety of homes, from historical to new and amazing. Wish we could have had more time to explore the surrounding area.... Chimney Rock, Hickory Nut Gorge, etc. Has many restaurants to suit any taste. We will definitely be back!

Everything! Casa di Cresta was a perfect getaway! Not only is it located in a breathtaking and peaceful area, the property is absolutely beautiful and welcoming. We felt safe and comfortable to be away from home (which means so much). Our host made the stay even more wonderful. She was incredibly attentive and welcoming. Before and during our stay, she reached out to us and made us feel comfortable to reach out to her anytime we needed anything.

The views are spectacular! Some of the best views of any vacation rental we have stayed at in the 13 years we've been coming up to the Blue Ridge mtn areas. The home was immaculate, comfortable, and the ammenties in the community, the river, falls, Mirror Lake, were wonderful! We have stayed in Riverbend before, but this place is the best. Can't wait to come back again! We hope to be back soon.

We loved the location, the hummingbirds on arrival, Rich's cookies, our room. But best of all was the lovely welcoming chats over the most delicious breakfasts! Kim helped us with ideas of what to do each day while Rich cooked up a wonderful breakfast all with local ingredients. A perfect place to explore lake lure and the mountains from.

Great hotel, located about 1/2 mile from Lake Lure swimming area. Great swimming pool and a Tiki Bar right beside. The bar was great and served a great cheeseburger, though I found it a bit expensive at $18 (w/fries). The hotel looks older from the outside, but our room was nicely updated, clean and beds were comfortable.

Cottage was very comfortable and nicely decorated. All the touches of home and then some. The views of lake Lure were fabulous and the deck, fire pit area and charcoal grill made it hard to leave and go sightseeing.

Location was perfect. Close to everything but tucked away from the noise. Comfortable beds. We enjoyed the resort, so much to do! We also saw several bears on the property which was pretty cool.

The area was quiet and the unit was spotless. We had 6 people and we had plenty of space to spread out. Even being somewhat isolated, there was plenty of things to do locally.
