The cleaning staff was up talking EXTREMELY loud either outside or in the adjoining room at 6:30am.
Clean, good bar, nice gardens, decent sized room.
Room not really sound-proofed. Too far from town centre.
the location, the breakfast, the grounds.
the lack of a few tables and chairs in the room. there was no place to sit other than on the bed.
They remembered our anniversary!
Beds brilliant. Very comfy. Staff helpful and friendly.
Would have preferred to be nearer sea. No pool. Mega expensive for one night. Bathroom pokey. No escape from party because of location of rooms.
Charming hotel, we stayed on a weekday so it was quiet and relaxing.
the shower was reallllly small, the angle of the shower head was a bit funky so it was pretty hard to wash up
The staff was soo nice & helpful. The hotel was pretty & cool. Our room smelled delicious & the bed was super comfy. Room was very modern & beachy. Location was awesome- right next to town & close to the Gosman's marina. Highly recommended.
The layout, the location, the staff
The noise. The walls were thin and we were kept awake by the neighbours. There was a party going on at the inn and it was hard to get to sleep. Our neighbours were particularly loud right outside our door, as well as in their room talking and moving about. I'm all for having fun, but it was too much, especially after requesting a quiet room.
Great location and helpfull staff
Very poor sound insulation, we could hear the other rooms night activities ;)
Staff was great.
Loved the atmosphere with the hammocks. Shabby chic at its finest .. The room was spotlessly clean with rustic charm .. Would definitely come back !
Breakfast choices were scarce
The manager walked us to our room and explained the available activities which was very nice. The rooms are set around a central lawn area with picnic tables that had ping pong tables and other lawn games.
For about $300/night, our queen room was rather small with no couch or hammock as seen in the photos. The shower's pressure in our room was so strong, cleaning up after a day at the beach was anything but relaxing. The room's door lock is the kind you put on your bathroom door in your house. The last night we were there, someone actually keyed into our room making use feel unsafe.
Restaurant - very good food. Style of room.
Reception needs cleaning and refurbishing. Bathroom too small - needs more surface space. Toilet flush broken. Bedroom bedside light broken. Too overlooked, so had to keep curtains closed. Wifi kept going off. Breakfast poor quality and lack of choice.
Very relaxed and cosy - wonderful garden, especially at night, but also to hang out during the day. Liked the style of the rooms - hippie-chic at its best. The front desk staff is very nice. Bicycles available to ride around Montauk - great experience.
Can be noisy at weekend evenings. Could be one of the most perfect hotels if pricing was in line with the offering.
beautiful relaxing property. Great staff...everyone we interacted with was friendly, welcoming and helpful.
Great concept, good restaurant for dinner. Cinnamon buns nice.
Poor staffing and breakfast... Pastries and cold eggs sat on the bar with flys... Help yourself... Ran out of coffee... Yogurt etc and had to find someone to replenish every day. Rooms smelt damp and of air fresheners, noisey free standing fridge and air con unit so had to be turned off at night. Tiny bathrooms and rotten smell with banging pipes every morning around 6am. Pillows very poor quality. Restaurant and bar closed all day, with no staff seen. This place tries too hard to be cool.the surf lodge is a much better option. Would not go back.
i loved the atmosphere. you really felt like you were at camp as a kid but the rooms were still very clean and had all the modern essentials. Also, the staff was amazing, super nice. anything i asked for they found out how to give me
the restaurant was very over-priced and the service was not amazing
Based on the reviews here, we had very low expectations. Ruschmeyer's exceeded them in every respect. Friendly staff, spotlessly clean, comfortable room, nice breakfast. Quiet, but we had an end room and were there mid-week. It's a simple, funky, 60s style "bungalow" place, not luxurious. If your expectations are set correctly, you will enjoy it.
Very expensive, but we booked late and stayed during the height of the season. Room had no chair to sit - only a bed and a hammock. Would have preferred a comfortable chair.
the rooms were so clean and i loved the shabby chic
The breakfast (included in the cost of the room) was delicious. Cute room design. Tasty cocktails.
Some of teh hotels basics were not addressed: the curtains are too thin to block out the bright lights on the property which means sleeping in a brightly lit room; the hotel started playing loud music from the kitchen (which backs onto all the cabins) at 7am.
Fun, retro feel.
The room had only one bathrobe, not enough towels for two people, dark, moldy bathroom grout in the shower, a non-working bedside lamp, and the dinner was tasty but overpriced. The included breakfast was serve yourself, had flys all over the food, cold scrambled eggs sitting in an unheated bowl. Yuck!
The place was absolutely beautiful down to the smallest detailing. The bed was also extremely comfortable!
The bar and restaurant was not open the day we arrived which was a disappointment.
