At first glance, this property looks just like the brochure however, a closer look reveals neglect. The grounds are lovely and the pool building is nice. There is a gazebo, which is screened is nestled among the trees, and wooden swings are scattered around the grounds. The cottages are spaced around the grounds.
I'll just list the problems. The pool decking is coming up at places, is splintered, and has pieces missing. The pool itself, while looked sparkling clean had a 4 inch wide ring of grime around it, just above the water line. The stairs were black and grimy looking. They have a lift to help handicapped people enter the pool, but the owner took the batteries out so it doesn't work. The pool table is a joke, one of the legs is damaged, the felt is coming up, and the cues had no rubber on the tips. Let's go inside this very spacious cottage. The full kitchen was ok, the refrigerator was scratched, dented, had no handle, and froze everything we put into it. The microwave also was scratched. The stove was another second hand piece.
Now the furniture, it looked like it came from a second hand shop, was very uncomfortable. The housekeeping staff never vacuumed or cleaned the toilet the whole time we were there.
The owner never told us his name, or what the daily rate was for the room. Figuring from our bill, it was $225 per night.
The owner told us he has owned the property for 9 yrs,and it looks like he hasn't done any major repairs to it. We had prepaid so we stayed. The windows were stuck, and we couldn't open, and the screen on one of the bedroom windows was pulled away from the window frame, and no one fixed it the whole week.
All of this shouldn't be in a cottage one rents to the public.
