The only thing that was undesirable was paying for wifi. But in such a big city I don't know how you would regulate wifi usage.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast and dinner for in room dining was wonderful.

Pay for Wi-Fi
The Marriott was perfect for us. This was a surprise visit after Christmas that was not in the budget so we were watching the pennies. I read the reviews but was slightly put off by the three-star rating. That turned out to be totally irrelevant. Everything looked and worked well. It wasn't the Ritz Carlton but for what we wanted it was ideal. But the key was the staff; and I mean everyone from check-in to room service to barman to waiters to room maids - they couldn't do more for us and all with a smile. It was a wonderful experience at a very reasonable price. We'll be back in March. Look no further if you need a place to stay in Bergen County.

Having to pay for WiFi is a problem. I paid $130 a night and my boyfriend is a Marriott Rewards member, but was still expected to pay for WiFi. I was surprised to not have a small fridge in the room. We were there for 4 nights, and had leftovers and snacks, and it was a pain to keep packing them in ice or leave them in the trunk of the car to stay cold. The bed itself is very comfortable, but the pillows are hard to sleep on, the big ones are too thick and hurt your neck, and the small ones are very thin, and are a little too flat.
Very clean, and the staff was friendly and competent. Location to NY is awesome, and there many options for restaurants in the surrounding area. Easy access to Rt 80, 4, 17, 46, and the GS Parkway. Quiet rooms, other than a door slam here or there, we didn't hear any sounds coming from the rooms around us.

Having to pay for WiFi is ridiculous ($12.95-$15.95). For what they charge for the room, WiFi should be included. Very disappointing.
The bed was awesome and the location was perfect. Glad they had parking.

We had reservation for 2 nights but arrived earlier at 3am and we wanted to check in we were told that we had to call in advance. I asked if there was rooms for that night he kept telling me about the 3 weddings. We asked again just to let me know or we will have to look somewhere else. I was also told that the Sunday night was 199.00 and not 139.00 what I booked for. After half hr we checked in. Little bit long for 3am check in. Day staff was great.

Both nights we stayed, security had to be called and sent to our floor because of the ridiculous amount of noise going on between 11pm and 2am. We slept only a couple hrs I total, both nights. The room's AC/Heat didn't work and no staff member seemed to care at all about our discomfort and inconveniences. The staff there was very rude, unprofessional and inconsiderate.

Rooms/bathrms need to be cleaner. Needs renovating/refreshing of décor. Dryer did not work: coin slot jammed and someone had put dry soap in the dryer. Maintenance tried to vacuum it out but it still was not usable for drying dark business clothes. Night front desk: I asked to have my rewards # entered; he said he would; it didn't happen. My online reservations was for 2 double beds; on arrival at hotel only king bed was available.
Devine at front desk in am was very pleasant and helpful. She entered my rewards number that didn't get entered the night before and she gave us reliable directions for travel. Received a good recommendation to the only food place open at 2am: Saddle Brook Diner. We arrived around 2am, and we were given a late check out of 1pm, greatly appreciated.
