Staff knowledge of the area
The walls were too thin! Heard every little cough and sneeze from neighbors!
The staff and room was very comfy!
1. No room service menu. 2. No Kleenex tissue. 3. No TV guide. 4. Strictly Italian food menu
Location, location, location. Great valet parking service; great front counter staff.
The staff was great
Undergoing renovation during our stay some facilities unavailable
Despite the historic ambiente and the luxus the hotel tries to get across it appears to be not very special.
The hotel is nicely situated, the rooms are quite small and some of them can be very noisy. The restaurant though is excellent.
The A/C was loud. Like so loud that it woke us up every time it kicked on and off, and it was too warm to not have it on at all. There was a gorgeous 55" (or bigger) HDTV in the room, but no HD channels at all. No pool, which for the money was a bummer...and we got a discounted rate from the regular price listed on their website.
Loved that they were pet-friendly! Bathroom was beautiful in the newly remodeled room that we were in. Room was quiet - there wasn't a lot of noise from other guests.
We feel we should have been told during the booking of the hotel, that the hotel was doing renovations so we could have decided if we wanted to put up with the noise or not. But we had no clue until we were checking in and at that point, you don't have many options to cancel and look for another hotel at the last minute. Remodeling work started at 9am and lasted until 5pm normal business hours, but we took Monday off to sleep in and enjoy, but doing to the pounding of hammers and none stop drilling, we packed our things and left early.
We loved the downtown location. We had tickets to a comedy show so we were able to walk there from the hotel and there were plenty of restaurants and bars nearby that were also walking distance so that was great! We also liked that the rooms are being remodeled so the accommodations were very nice.
I actually enjoyed the whole experience i couldnt complain.
The building was well kept. The staff was friendly & helpful.
The bed and shower was amazing.Everything was clean, smelled nice and had great toiletries.
very expensive as conference on. no breakfast included. train outside runs all night and affextted my sleep. false fire alarm.went off in the middle of one night. room on small size fir usa hotel.
room newly refurbished. staff friendly. central location.
The price is too high for a simple room.
The location was great and I checked in VERY late but the Staff was more than understanding and accommodating!
The view from our room was disappointing. We stayed in room 446.
For it being my first time here it was an amazing night. The room and bed were very comfortable and the staff responded immediately.
Clean, beautiful, friendly, close to the City National Civic and restaurants.
They had some construction going on during the day, but it ended promptly at five and had no impact on my stay.
The staff continually went above and beyond to help me out. Friendly and amazing service. Rooms are clean and nicely furnished. Food from the restaurant is excellent.
Counter gal was a teensy bit... grumpy
best BANG for your BUCK
Rooms were kind of small.
The air cooling/warming system made a lot of noise. A technician tried to fix it but the noise did not subside. I am a light sleeper and this affected me. Was a bit over priced.
Was well located and close to interesting places. Quite a lively area in the evening
Poor parking. Not very big valet area. Upset that they charged after 3pm by the hour after we checked out. We weren't done at convention center until 9pm. Marriott never charged over before.
Very close to convention center.
High cost of parking
We are early risers so no coffee(there is coffee in the room) but we like latte. Staff directed us to across the street to the Marriot which took me 10 minutes. Not a problem
Proximity to the California Theater for the symphony and the opera. Close to our favorite restaurants Original Joes and I'll Fornio. Also close to the Basilica.
