Due to weather, SLC airport closed, leaving many travelers stranded. The hotel seemed unprepared to deal with a large number of guests arriving at once (tho one would think that management would have had a plan for this occurrence). There was only one person checking people in and initially only one shuttle to pick up passengers at the airport so most of us waited for over an hour for a ride to the hotel.
It was the cheapest place to stay near the airport. Rooms are in need of updating but my room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The young lady checking us in was really pleasant, despite having an enormous line of people.
The staff was lazy. We requested clean towels and never received them. We had to go up to the front and follow the manager around to actually get clean towels. They only put two bath towels in the room. They knew we had four people. There was trash all over the property. No one emptied the garbages in the courtyards. Our friends had dinner at the restaurant and said it was terrible. The fixtures were loose and the shower made a horrible pounding sound. The room was small and dark. Very little lighting. All night you could hear and if you went into the hall could see drunk people. One lady was laying on the floor passed out. It wasn't a great spot for a mom and her three kids to be alone. Won't stay again.
The location was ok. Took only 10 minutes to drive to downtown salt lake. The bed was comfortable. Sheets were changed upon request and they did give us extra pillows and blankets because we were cold.
I nearly suffocated when walking the corridor to the room, and had to open the window when I got there to let some fresh air in.
Need more staff at front desk.
Close to airport.
I got a call today saying that I smoked in my room and that some items were stolen (blankets, shower curtain, pillow) they are trying to charge me an extra $565 for this when we didn't do either of these. They also called me and told me this today and thought I checked out today when I stayed there 3 nights ago! If they can take care of this for me then I would give them a higher rating but so far it's the worst experience I have had with a hotel. That's saying a lot since I travel frequently.
location n shuttle to airport
Noise all night worst room ever
The soft beds the cold pillows and The showers were hot
Rundown, waited 35 minutes for the shuttle to pick us up, sheets were thin and stained. Grout missing on tile, breakfast was lousy. This place was terrible, Ramada should be embarrassed.
The hotel room was not clean, particularly the bathroom, and it also needed maintenance. The Eco Friendly A/C system was not at all user friendly. The onsite Sports Bar/ Restaurant Amelia's has a Burger Menu with some entree items of the micro wave variety, and service was very poor. The bar staff were also the restaurant servers and where there should be a line of professionalism between them and the customer there was none. The Sports Bar and Restaurant is a franchises and the hotel management seen to have no interest in its operation. Also at the time of my stay the largest trade show by far was taking place in SLC at the Salt Palace and many of the local airport hotels have a mutual shuttle service to and from the venue, there was none from the Ramada, the manager of the Ramada was not even aware of the trade show, however he manged to double the nightly room rate for the period of the show, greed without responsibility. The fact the hotel was oblivious to the trade show yet managed to benefit financially from it, is to me disgraceful.
We traveled during December/January and it was freezing cold outside and the hotel didn't have heat on in the building or in the room, it took all night to get the room warm so we had to sleep in our clothes the first night, we still froze. The refrigerator didn't work and the microwave cord would not reach the plug. We called for maintanence and they said no one was available. They also told us their restaurant was open the next day but was closed due to New Years Day. Their free breakfast had a short window available so we were not able to eat there.
I liked that the hotel was close to the airport and traveling late at night made it easy to get there. The rooms were comfortable and clean.
Staff was very unprofessional. No eye contact, I think she was surfing the web. Not helpful or understanding.
Location and look, very nice
It is about 20 minutes from Salt Lake and there are some -how shall we say- colorful people that stay in cheap hotels. You get what you pay for
All the basic amenities were available
It smelt like meldew it was gross and I saw a tick!
The room and hallways strongly smelled of smoke and dirt. Cleanliness??? The continental breakfast didn't start until 6:30am (would have been convenient if at 6 am). What they did offer was generic. No high protein items such as yogurt, boiled egg were offered...just a lot of starch.
