Score from 361 reviews Very good
Staff were very helpful, room was clean and bed was comfortable. Plenty of free parking on site.
The shower was too powerful and there was no way to reduce the pressure (I like a powerful shower, but this was extreme).
Nice historic building Big rooms very clean nice breakfast walking distance from Alamo and riverwalk
not enough parking places - had to park out few minutes walk in the dark
good breakfast and location close to Riverwalk
Location and comfy beds!
That I had to manually turn on all the lights to each lamp, due to there was no actual light switch to at least one
We arrived late at night and were happy to be met with a very pleasant & extremely helpful staff member! Best continental breakfast - great variety, hot and tasty! Clean & comfortable spacious room!
Hotel it's literally across the street from the Riverwalk and the alamo, service was great and clean. I would recommend to stay here if traveling to visit the Alamo.
That night when we checked in wifi was down and in the morning the coffee machine was working but later on the day both were fixed.
Good location Good breakfast
we chose this hotel for the free parking on site.
our confirmation emails and the ad for this particular hotel said there was no charge for parking, however when we checked out there was a 9.95 charge for each night. I have called best western and left messages without result. We will not use best western again for this reason
Ease of access from freeway and proximity to downtown.
Wi fi did not work at all on one evening and was intermittent on the others. May not be important to everyone but hotel advertises "high speed wi fi" on website - this is misleading.
Staff at night was awsome and the breakfast was good
The maids was horrible did not clean our room or set our bed no clean towels each day
Bed was comfortable and service were helpful and friendly.
Price not the same as was what I was quoted by booking.com
Loved complimentary breakfast..
Needed to use internet and it was down. Understandable that it was out of their control.
Very limited parking (overflow is in an unsecured lot) and the property is about a half mile walk to Riverwalk
Staff was very professional and accommodating. Room was spacious for the price compared to other hotels in the area.
Sofa bed could use a better mattress, but couldn't they all?
Location, short walk to convention center, Riverwalk, and Alamo. Front Desk Staff was very friendly and willing to answer questions and give recommendations. Couch and comfy chair in the room. It was nice to not have to sit in a hard chair or lay on the bed all the time. Room Rate was much lower than Riverwalk Hotels.
Fee for parking($9.95) was added after booking. Free parking was a big incentive to book this property. Housekeeping was OK. They changed the towels but never replaced the empty toliet paper roll. This is one example of the inconsistant service. WiFi was very slow.
Location was an easy few blocks walk from Riverwalk. Facility was clean & staff was friendly. Room was cozy. Hot breakfast included.
The mattress on the sofa bed was horrible. I could feel the springs in my back & could feel the bottom of the wire bed. The floor was more comfortable. Best Western, please update your sofa bed mattresses.
Great staff. Very nice. Took care of your every need. Rooms were clean.
Hidden fees that were shown as taxes until you get your final bill. $9.50 parking fee that was tagged onto your bill. Parking was limited on site. If you came in late you had to park about a block away in a overflow lot. Room was not ready upon arrival. Not worth the money spent at this hotel
very clean rooms and hotel close the alamo domeand river walk very good breakfast real eggs
parking lot is small they have overflow parking across the road but parking downtown is limited
Location to Alamo Dome
Very poor customer service. Nightmare to change/confirm bookings. My reservation was made in April and they tried to charge me a parking fee for not making my reservation within the last 30 days! They try to blame everything on Booking.com. This is my last time to stay at this hotel. Since my stay here in 2013, they have improved the area with a lot of security and police. At least two of the desk employees were nice and helpful but the rest need training in the hospitality/hotel field.
I was pleased with the location. It was within walking distance to the Convention Center, even in the heat of summer! The room was fantastic for the deal I got on it.
The small parking lot. The lot got full very quickly, and if you arrived after it was full, you have to walk quite a ways from their overflow lot.
The cleanliness of the place was great and the staff was very friendly.
the room we had smelled like ammonia
It was a great location, super close to the middle of downtown, was able to walk everywhere.
The parking lot was tiny, if you left your spot you knew you weren't getting it back and were going to have to park across the street in a different one ( which was hard to find which lot was okay to park in). Also, the walls were so thin, we woke up every night around 3-5am from something that was just running back and forth above us. And we heard a couple next door to us fighting about their financial problems and their kids crying. It was pretty depressing.
The proximity to activities.
The room was filthy!!! The carpet was stained in numerous places, and the bathroom was awful. The tub was full of hair and other dirt, and the counter-top and sink looked like someone had spilled coffee all over it and was never cleaned up.
The place was beautiful! And close to everything we needed! The riverwalk, the Alamo, the at&t center, were all within eight minutes or less!
The breakfast was mediocre, but it's hotel food, so you can only expect so much.
Room was beautiful, had lots of space, liked living room area. Gym was a plus. Breakfast served was a big plus. Thought the snack shop was a great idea and convenient. I liked the historical feel it had and how it was converted.
Bed was to firm for me but thats just my preference. Pillows were way to flat, no support or comfort at all. It was hot and stuffy in the gym room. Would have liked to see bacon or sausage served for breakfast. Sign could have been more visible, it was hard to spot. Having a pool would have been great.
