Changed the location from the other Motel6, but, didn't have the 2 double beds where the original one have.
Having one double bed instead of two.
- Helpful staff - Good location - Free parking
- Internet cost $3/day and is really really slow (when works...)
I was really pleasantly surprised by this Motel 6. I was initially somewhat hesitant to stay here due to reviews complaining of noise and lack of safety and cleanliness, but I found this motel to be quiet, safe, and very clean (I stayed for 5 nights). The beds and pillows are very comfortable. The manager was great - she let me see a room before I checked in, gave me a map and told me how to get to my conference, and comped my first day of wifi. The motel is located in a nice part of town, walking distance to Little Italy, the downtown area, and the trolley line. Yes, there are some homeless people and the streets smell, but that seems to be the case in all of downtown San Diego. Overall, I was very pleased with my stay here, and would stay here again.
My only complaint is the wifi. For the first two days of my stay the wifi worked fine and the signal strength was good - I was able to use Skype with no problems. However, on the third day, the wifi stopped working on my computer, and I have no idea why. I called Motel 6 tech support, but they couldn't figure out how to fix the problem. The front desk gave me a refund, but I was left without internet access for the last 3 days of my stay. As I was in town for a conference, this was really inconvenient - I had to bring my laptop with me to the conference in order to send emails. If they are going to charge for wifi, they should at least make sure it works, or provide a LAN cable for backup.

Although the lobby was full of travelers, the personnel at the front desk managed fo check in everyone quickly and professionally.
Wasn't aware of second parking area until the day I left.
Location, staff, laundry on site.
Wi-fi didn't work & traffic noise at night
The location near Little Italy and transportation was very good. The area around the motel has improved since I was last there about five years ago. It felt a lot safer walking around. I had a room on the fourth floor and found it to be reasonably quiet.
The shower needed a bathmat plus a safety bar. Wifi was not free.

internet was poor
we arrived at 9.30 pm and our room (even if we had the reservation from booking.com) wasnt available, because we arrived "to late" and the hotel couldn't charge my credit card. But, we chose via booking, that we wanted to pay cash, so there is no reason, that they try to charge my credit card, but they did and since this didnt work, they sold that room to another person and late at night we had no place to stay.. (i described that situation booking and they really apologized for that situation and sent me a voucher, but it was the hotel's fault. So, Thanks Booking! And to the hotel: never, never, never! Think about it, if you would like to support a hotel which maximizes profit in such a way!...it was late at night, i had a reservation and no room....)
Car Park Location Cost Cleanliness
Location is good. But thats it.
I never seen good motel 6 . So if you can afford stay in better motels.
I expected some disappointments but a warm greeting, quick changes to my reservations, a clean renovated room, free convenient parking and visible security on hand removed all doubts thst my four-night stay would be great.
good room, parking space perfect. Location very good. Good for juist sleeping. personel was very kind.
you had to pay for poor wifi connection
The room is toooooo small and the beds un comfortable

The location, friendliness of the employees, it, was easy to check in.. great space in the room.
The bed... I could feel the springs coming out. ..
You con walk in downtown san Diego quite well from the hotel. The gaslamp quarter is really close and worth seeing. It's very close to highway 5 so it's a good starting point to visit places outside downtown
No hairdryer in the room, you have to ask the reception. The first night we asked and they were out. No problem for most, my girlfriend was a bit disappointed
Just 10 minutes walk to downtown, parking and modern look of the motel
Very Small room
