This place is wondeful... the staff is great and the facilities are wonderful. It is a little oasis in the middle of the big city. Are you gay this place is awesome, its all gaybars around the area:-)
the outside was a bit dirty and the pool too warm, for my taste!
The patio and pool atmosphere. Lighting at night. Our private deck off French doors in for "Q"
If you expect this property to be mainly gay guests due to its pnosimitry to WEHO not so, there were lots of straight people stays g here, did not like the people smoking at pool and using profanity being loud.
the location is great. The bungalows are quirky and cool and the improvements to the public areas are great.
The rooms are very tired and the bathroom was really not good. The cleanliness was poor and there were no towels in my room. Also there wasn't an iron or ironing board.
Perfect for a weekend in West Hollywood!!! Can't wait to return.
Nothing to complain
We got to the room we were in shock! They didn't clean the room after us! We went to complain so the second time it was still dirty from hair ball in the shower from the guest before! The room is really dated! My advice just don't go there
Love Rachel! My friends and I are always happy to see her.
Budget style accommodations in upmarket location. Wonderful oasis style gardens /pool areas with lots of nooks and crannies for reading chill or conversation. Top class cleanliness and friendly accommodating staff. Shared facilities and simple style rooms may not be everyone's cup of tea but for young-at-heart, seasoned or discerning travellers wanting MORE than just budget basic then San Vicente is a charming upmarket budget retreat in million dollar location.
Everything: The hotel rooms built around the pool, the minimalist decor, wooden floors, atmosphere of fading beauty and old Hollywood elegance, the hotel's history, the wonderful reception staff, the welcoming bars and bistro's right around the corner on Santa Monica Boulevard. Our stay was made extra special by Rachel, a lady working on reception. She just went out of her way to help us every time :-)
Very close to the attraction points in LA. Walking distance to Sunset Blvd and Santa Monica Blvd. Friendly and helpful personnel. Clean rooms. Very good price.
Poor breakfast Rooms facing the street may be a bit noisy
You know that single uncle or brother you have? The one with a cool house but he does all the cleaning himself? That's what the San Vicente Bungalows are like. Very cool little boutique hotel. Amazing outdoor pool area with gardens and fun seating areas. The rooms are nice too but are set up more like guest bedrooms in someone's house than a hotel room.
The room we stayed in was fine but it was a little rough around the edges. There was mold around the shower caulking and the floor needs a good scrubbing. This hotel is on the cusp of being great but just needs a little more elbow grease in the cleaning department.
Outdoor patio was charming
Rugs were weathered, room air was somewhat stale, the bathtub and shower needs upgrades, horrible water pressure and shower facet was challenging.
Not very clean especially the pillows
We liked everything about San Vicente Bungalows. Some of the cottages were built in 1908. The one we stayed in was very old though very modernly updated. Plenty of cozy patios placed around the inviting pool and elsewhere on the grounds. Accommodating staff. Good coffee and pastry in the morning. Will definitely go back for another stay and highly recommend this place.
The pool and the staff.
The room furnishings are tatty. But I understand that the new owners are upgrading on a phased basis. No doubt when they have finished with that their rates will go up. They are marketing to both the gay and straight communities which causes issues on clothing optional.
The pool is great, and with the location so close to the strip this is definitely a top location.
Location - 5 minutes to the center of Sunset Strip Nice and clean pool Patio area
Noise from the street Rooms could need some repair
- Location, location, location! - heated pool - great vibe - very green - nice stuff - the best place to stay in WEHO!
My room had shared bathroom but I was aware of that while I was booking the room. Besides that: 10/10!
I was in King (bed) room located in house across street from check-in office. Older, but clean and maintained. Great deal for Hollywood. I didn't need to pay for amenities; pool, restaurants, etc. Plenty to walk to in area.
basic rooms are not worth the money. no hot water for two days and they were not able to fix it. after two days I got an upgrade for a suit which was an acceptable room. after 4 nights I decided to get me a room in a much nicer hotel around the corner
Quaint, very relaxing setting.
Bed was not good.
Love the location and ease of parking.
We were not fully aware our room was having a shared bathroom with 3 other rooms. Bed was not the most comfortable, but luckily had enough drinks before not to notice too much
The room was great.
Understanding this is an older facility, I would still like to not see the bathroom with mold and dirt anywhere. even under the glass sink and toilet tank. mold in the shower was a bit disconcerting, but tolerable. Overall, a good experience.
You cant beat the location, right in the middle of West Hollywood. When I stepped into the gate I felt like I was transported to a tropical resort. The room was spacious with a nice LCD TV and a decent cable package.
The room I was in needed a fresh coat of paint and there was a sour smell in the bathroom.
Small oasis in West Hollywood. Nice little pool. Cosy atmosphere. Nice to shut the door to the outside world. Bedrooms acceptable. Great staff!
I got the last room with shared bathroom. Not a good idea. No bar at the hotel. Would have been nice with a glas of wine by the pool.
