we changed rooms our main reaso was to get a room with a view. The bed sheets were really awesome.
it was a chilly room, breakfast basket was a disappoitment.
Everything about the Sandaway is perfect - location, comfort, service can't be beat. We have made the weekend before Thanksgiving our annual trip for about 10 years now and will continue to do so forever! In fact, we already have a reservation for next year's trip!
I loved the privacy and the charm! Beautiful B&B!
I was staying on the 3 rd floor and had no one to help me take my bags up the stairs.
View is outstanding . Beautiful area to explore, dine and shop.
Nothing, weather got quite cold however we still enjoyed ourselves!
A very good place to go to when you just want to do nothing. Sitting by the water is so calming. Every night of our stay we enjoyed the beautiful sunsets. We certainly will do this again.
Love the screen porches overlooking the Tred Avon --sailboats, fishing boats and lots of birds. The binoculars in the room were a great touch. The room was also spacious with comfortable bed and furniture.
Bathroom was quite small but worked fine. Continental Breakfasts pretty poor even for a Continental breakfast. Much better to go to the Robert Morris where you have a 15% discount for a delicious breakfast.
The view from the lawn.
The pre packaged food basket they provide for breakfast. They categorize their business as a "bed and breakfast" when it's really an inn.
I like the peaceful and quiet place which it is.
It's too expensive. The food from next door is not good at all.
It is a lovely, old hotel that has been renovated and decorated with colonial Maryland motif. The screened porches for many of the units like the one we had is lovely and gives a sense of having your own little house. Our room was large and very comfortable. The room, porch, bathroom was clean as were the common areas. The welcoming crew was very lovely and let us check in early (at 2 p.m.) so we could spend more time enjoying the grounds. The location in Oxford and the grounds are peaceful and really nice. Not huge but great view of the river and bay and with a little beach. Not super private but doable. It's also nice when a hotel doesn't nickel and dime you for everything and the Sandaway has a little cottage filled with snacks, goodies, and drinks as well as a library where you can get all the bottled water you need. The option for a delivered breakfast basket or 15% off across the street for a hot breakfast is fair although I would have opted for a hot breakfast at the hotel. I like the little touches, like the binoculars in your room, the flashlight on your key for when you wander Oxford at night and need to find your way home, the free wifi, the choice of feather or foam pillows, etc.
The porches are wonderful but there were a groups in a couple rooms facing the river that were singing songs and being rowdy into the night. I imagine that didn't bode well for romance in neighboring rooms. Something to consider if you are going for a romantic weekend. The bathtub under the faucet really needed chalking; grit and cracks were showing. Not a huge deal but since that's what you look at when bathing, it is in the line of sight.
The location was great and we liked the size of the property with a large lawn facing the water and various common rooms and buildings. It was also very quiet.
The bed was a bit lumpy and it would have been nice to have regular chairs and a small table to eat the breakfast in the room. We had hoped to have a better view.
Friendly staff and great location! Loved hanging out by the water in their couples chairs. Would definitely recommend!
The setting was spectaclar. The suite was clean and tastefully decorated. The staff was were very gracious, friendly and accommodating.
The breakfast basket was a huge disappointment. There were hardly any baked goods. The basket included a packages breakfast bar and a packaged fig newton bar, nectarines, coffee, and apple juice.
We loved the setting, the delivery of breakfast, and the chairs at waterside.
Television in the rooms would enhance the experience.
