Breakfast was min. There was only 2 types of cereal and some cold pastries and coffee. They had orange juice but when I went to get some almost an hour before breakfast ended there wasn't any and wasn't able to get anymore. I expected a little more veryity in breakfast items for the money that I paid.
Location was great, a short walk to the beach, and right in the middle of everything.
Cool ac nothing fancy but comfy
it was close to everything.
just wasnt very nice. i payed 100 a night and i could have stayed at a nicer hotel for only a little bit more that was just a block away.
As I entered the room I smelled mold and Mildew smell that was extremely strong and no way of airing the room out with an open window . I was very disappointed .
We always enjoy our stay at the Sandcastle Inn. We have been coming there since 1993 (recorded at office). We have been treated well and the location is central to everything.
The room had been rearranged. The king size bed was nice, but the mattress was encased into a type of zipped bag that was slippery. The mattress kept slipping side to side, but we managed not to fall out! The fridge was in an inconvenient place. In the way of hanging up our clothes. But these were minor things and our stay was pleasant as always.
The wifi worked maybe 2 times the whole weekend we were there. When we went to take a shower and unfolded the supposedly clean washcloth there was hair on it (curly short black hair) . There was a small roach crawling on the nightstand.
staff was very friendly and helpful
fridge didn't work, beds are not comfy
The location is awesome. The price is good.
The continental breakfast is hardly anything. The wi fi doesn't work.
The location is excellent! The AC worked really well and the water pressure in the shower was great! The pool was really nice too.
The hotel needs some updates. It wasn't disgusting, it was just run down. The "breakfast" that is offered in the mornings was slim. It's basically just orange juice and cereal in the small office/foyer/lobbey of the hotel.
All Staff were excellent / location was perfect for me.
A/C unit was far too noisy. There were human hairs around the bathtub. There were no washcloths - had to ask staff to bring some which they did promptly. The towels and washcloths were very coarse and harsh feeling, very cheap junk.
Good location for the price good staff the cleaning people was great
Have to say everthing was great
Location to beach. That's it.
If you want your car damaged while in the parking lot and NO ONE at the front desk that can tell you if the security cameras work, or tell you that they will get with the manager (who apparently never works as I'm still waiting for a call) and have the front desk get nasty with you for trying to find out when the manager works and get called a f------ b----, this is the place to go. The hotel is outdated and run down. The "breakfast" is great if you don't want to actually eat as everything is stale and they barely offer anything. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE place. Will NEVER go back and NEVER recommend. The "divey" looking hotels across the street looked nicer and had much better pools.
Location and salt water pool.
Owner was very rude and upstairs housekeeper as well. It seemed to be a problem get extra towels. Drains smelled. Breakfast was a joke. Coffee taste like hot water. As long as you stay on the parking lot end of the pool it's fine. The other end you smell the dumpster. Bottom line this place is ran down needs up dating. Won't spend my money there again with these cheat skates!!!!
it was easy access to the beach and to the restaurants and shops
Hotel is old and out dated, limited cable for the rainy afternoon. bathroom is tiny, not enough places to hang wet things from the beach
The location was great. Within walking distance of everything!
Just the king size bed. It had a hump in the middle and when you sit on it, it would fall down on its side.
Staff was polite
Needs updating; poor value for the $$ charged. Cleaning supplies were piled in back of hotel next to where cars were parking.(towel bin, buckets, mops etc) Could use more cleaning; was only one receptacle for fridge/micro/and or hair dryer.
I had no problems with this hotel. We stay here every year. The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly.
The only thing that I didn't like was the price, but it was one of the cheapest hotels on the island for july.
Proximity to the beach (less then 1 block) was ideal!! We also enjoyed being across the street from Sting Rays restaurant. Great food and live music on Friday and Saturday nights. We pulled our chairs outside our door and enjoyed listening. Office staff was courteous. We genuinely enjoyed our stay!
Our room did not have a "do not disturb" sign. One morning the housekeeping young man walked in while knocking and nearly caught the Mr in the buff fresh out of the shower. The room key advertised "the local" Dominoes, who did not deliver to the hotel. They could benefit from some outdoor showers (the nearest beach access did not have them and we tracked sand EVERYWHERE).
Short walk to beach, shops, and restaurants.
Run down. Outside appears to have been spruced up in recent years but room condition barely tolerable. Breakfast a joke. Some cereal, juice, coffee, and a few unappetizing pastries arranged in the tiny lobby. We did not eat. Pool shower did not work.
Facilities need to be updated. It was impossible to use the TV remote.
Fantastic location - right in the heart of Tybee near Pier/Pavillion, Strand shopping and restaurants, coastal science center, and of course, the beach. The kids loved the pool. The room was standard - not "fancy" but very clean and functional. Had frig and microwave which was nice, especially with young kids to have snacks readily available. (IGA grocery walking distance as well!) Housekeeping service throughout the stay were friendly, helpful, and accommodating on bringing fresh towels, coffee refills, etc.
Front desk staff was apathetic and seemed bored to be there. Definitely not helpful. Wi-fi was spotty at best. "Free breakfast" was really stale cereal and danishes and if you were there early enough, juice and coffee. Ex. Breakfast opened at 8 am. We arrived at 8:15 and they were totally out of juice. Response from desk clerk was "well that's all we have for today."
Good location, close to the beach.
No WiFi signal on the side rooms at all.
Parking, a bit pricey for what you get
