The location and the room was great. Staff was helpful and courteous. Definitely going to stay again
Not much i didnt like
Room was nice, view was even better. Conventient to boardwalk and other area attractions.
The beds had broken springs and were uncomfortable and noisy. Wifi did not work at all. Kiddie pool could use some maintainence.
The location was incredible! The ocean was our backyard and had easy access to the beach from the ground floor. Shops, amusement parks and rental bikes were in walking distance. The highway was one street over which made for easy access to other main attractions. There was both a cold pool, a warm pool, 2 jacuzzis and plenty of lawn chairs. Once I made the staff aware of the puddle in the hallway they took immediate action to rectify the situation. Plenty of space in the suite. The beds were comfy. The bedroom and the "living room" had separate air control units. Overall, I liked the price we paid for the unit and it's location to everything (I went in the off season, late September, early October) For the value I would consider booking again.
There was a puddle of water in the hallway near the electric room and it appears that the cleaning lady did not notice this for several days. The parking lot was across the street. I missed a day of room service. A credit was promised to my account and i have yet to receive it. (I'll give it a little more time before i make a call). The loading/unloading area was connected to the pool area. I didn't feel comfortable having to walk through the loading area to get to the elevators. The room keys deactivate if they are in the same pocket as your cell phone. Kitchen cabinets were damaged and the hotel didn't seem to care to repair them properly. The microwave is too big for the space it's in and won't fully open causing damage to the parallel wall. The decor was a little outdated. There wasn't a lot of lighting in the bedroom. The front desk was on the 2nd floor. It wasn't a bad thing, it just felt weird. I wasn't greeted with a warm friendly hello every time i visited the front desk. The gym was extremely cold and hard to access. They should use a round doorknob instead of hook handle which caused difficulties entering the facility. Going off season meant some attractions were shut down, not running, or had very limited hours.
We had a great time. the hotel is a very good place for the price. The beach is only a few steps away from the pool deck.
I wish that all the pools were heated. And there needs to be more towels for the pools.
Staff was courteous. Location was good. Would go back if we had a better room.
Room needed new carpet and the sofa was old and worn! The walls so thin could hear snoring from next room!
I've stayed at Sandy Beach many times, always enjoy my stay. Clean rooms and staff very helpful. Will definitely stay with them again.
Our room was perfect for what we needed.
The only disadvantage is that parking is across the street in a parking lot, instead of a parking garage.
The kitchen was too small
The staff was friendly. Maid service was great. Location is great if you a quieter area of the beach. For the price it's a good clean hotel.
No restaurant in the hotel or continental breakfast. No parking garage and you have to cross the street to park. Small bathroom.
I liked the time of year that we went. It was mid sept. We didnt have to walk far for anything.
Oceanfront Balcony and View. Very friendly helpful desk staff Everything worked, A/C TV etc Location fantastic Value for money
One building a bit older -Magnolia but, they do try and maintain it well. Best option would be Palmetto immaculate. Parking across the street, usually 100 yard walk to get a spot but, very relaxed pick up etc at resort entrance.
upon my strong request they moved me to the newer side, I did not get ocean view or high level however it was clean and livable. They said they would give me $100.00 off my 5 night stay but at check out my bill remained the same and the clerk did not speak to me or ask how my stay was after the move. I would never stay here again! This was not my first trip to Myrtle Beach and I plan to return but not to Sandy Beach Resorts, there are plenty of other hotels/resorts along the beach.
I requests were for (and paid) an ocean view, clean, mid-to-high level, nonsmoking room. I was not aware there was a remodeled and very old, outdated, dirty section. They should advise and ask their customers upfront what they would prefer. I was put in room 817, there rust all metal parts in the room, it was dirty, burn marks on lampshades, furniture was broken, sofa filthy, carpet torn and dirty, a/c unit and bath Jacuzzi had black mold growing. Cigarette ashes on the outdoor railing (all rooms are non smoking). It was an insult to put anyone in a room like that! Upon my request they switched me to a room in the 'remodeled' section but I had to forfeit an ocean view and was put on the 2nd floor.
Beach access and pools. Most staff very helpful.
Beach gate was still locked at 8 am and had to walk off property for beach access.
The hotel was nice. Beachfront was wonderful.
Balcony was right over the hot tub. Hot tub ran from 8 am to 11 pm at night. Couldn't hear the ocean over it. Should move the hot tub indoors. There was sand in the hotel also. Cleaning person came one time that I was aware of.
It really was a nice hotel, no it was not a 5 star but very nice and lived up to it's billing. The out-side pools and hot tube was nice great location to beach and attractions/things to do. Balcony in the room was great sat and had coffee there each morning, just a nice place to stay I would go back.
The lazy river and in-door pool was small and over run by kids that were unsupervised by their parents and very wild, almost like the parents thought it was a baby sitting area, leave your kid and go have your own fun. But that was not the hotels fault. There seemed to be plenty of parking across the street and next to the family fun center was a second lot but I just happened to see the sign to know that, so all in all not too much bad bottom line, I would stay here .again
On the beach,
Flooring not good with carpet. Tile cracked and dirty. Bathroom shower and sink needs replacing. Furnishings poor quality and TV'shows were bad. Kitchen poorly stocked.
You have a class A hotel
The rooms were very good and modern. The elevators were quick and clean. Parking was convenient and available at all times.
No drinking glasses in the room, only coffee cups. No paper towels in kitchen.
I liked how the room was set up. Nice to have separate bedroom from living room
Would have liked the pool area open later than 11
Loved the location, right across the street from Family Kingdom amusement park.
The carpeting was dirty and stained on bedroom and living area. Shower curtain was old and tattered and bathroom sink was outdated. Lax security, no access key required for main doors after dark.
People would line up and reserve chairs by pool for all day, suppose to be 15min. This needs to be enforce just a little we had no opportunity to use area all week.
Nice size room and comfortable beds. Rooms were cleaned on time every day.
Beach is a little narrow at high tide. It can get a bit crowded.
