Score from 25 reviews Wonderful
Within walking distance of downtown. Quiet. Room nicely decorated. Really nice shower. Nice to have a refrigerator as we always travel with food and drink.
I can't say there was anything I didn't like. The room wasn't posh and they did not serve breakfast, but for the price and so near the beach who cares! This was one of our nicer vacations.
Room was very clean. Updated nicely. Great access to freeway. Staff was very attentive.
Pool was very cold.
The only good thing about this motel is it is actually better than it looks from the outside. And the price is really low comparing to other motels next to it. Also, it is close to the highway.
The wifi was really poor during my stay there, it barely worked.
Sandyland Reef was a nice place for us to stay for the night. The staff was so wonderful and friendly. It looks a bit shabby from the outside but the rooms are good. I would definitely recommend Sandyland Reef to anyone staying for a couple days.
You are definitely getting what you pay for. A few of the lights in our room didn't work and by morning only the bathroom lights did. Luckily all the rooms face east so the sun brightens the room. Also, the shower doesn't have any form of a tub so lots of water splashes out. Other than those two things the room was swell.
The staff were very friendly and provided a lot of brochures on local activities.
If you get a room up front, it will be extremely noisy because it is right next to the freeway. Would have liked a room in the back away from freeway. Beds were not very comfortable.
Close to the beach Comfortable bed Friendly staff Really good and easy Wi-Fi (was at a symposium where me and my wife were both taking notes and once we got to the hotel, sending them out, internet never slowed down).
Staff not to knowledgeable about area. Room while it wasn't obviously dirt had an underlying odor (couldn't put my finger on it). No bath tub. Window in bathroom was broken (seems a little petty meh) No microwave in the room
The bed, large bathroom and quiet.
No restaurants near by.
Good location for the trip and planned activities
Wi-fi did not work at all
ROOM WAS QUIET I NEVER HEARD GUESTS AROUND ME UNTIL DURING THE DAY WHEN WE WERE CHECKING OUT.AIR CONDITIONER WORKED GREAT.
PARKING IS HORRIBLE. SLOTS ARE NARROW AND VERY SHORT IF YOU HAVE A LONGER VEHICLE IT HANGS OUT IN THE ROAD. CHECK IN AND CHECK OUT ARE HORRIBLE ONLY ONE PERSON IN THE BOOTH AND TO GET MY DEPOSIT BACK THE PERSON FROM THE BOOTH HAD TO GO CHECK MY ROOM INSTEAD OF THE MAID OR SOMEONE ELSE CHECKING IT VERY SLOW CHECK IN AND CHECK OUT.
I enjoyed the size of the bed and having parking right outside the room.
The room smelled funny. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, I could barely sleep and woke up with back pain. The room had ants, I even found one on my back while I was lying in bed. The cost for the room was outrageous, granted it was Labor Day weekend, it wasn't even walking distance to the beach. I definitely wouldn't stay again, nor would I recommend it to anyone else.
Sandyline Reef Inn is located close to the highway exit so that many location (for example Santa Barbara and Monte= cito) can be easily reached. The Downtown and the beach, that are very beautiful, are near the hotel.
the highway passes very close to this hotel and sometimes there is noise.
they chagre my CC more 10$ and when i called he said : i was late to chick out !! ,,,, i was late for 7 min ,, ,, Dont give them ur CC number ,, pay cash
It was close to where we needed to be.
Ugly place, thin towels, weird bathroom, uncomfortable bed, lots of shady looking characters staying there, view of weed-filled side yard, office closed in the morning when we wanted to check out.
Nice hot tub
Area outside the room quite dirty
Like they say "you get what you pay for" I like that is close to freeway, good value for the money.and we weren't planning on stay in hotel much, we were gone all day. Office manager was nice.
Bathroom smelled like pee, towels were stainend.
Kingsize beds in the back are quiet, all queens in the front to the highway,so louder. Everything was clean, bathroom seemed newly renovated. Bed and room were comfy. Good access to beaches and H1
We stayed only two nights and just for sleeping, nothing negative, didn't tried the pool etc
Location is good, and it'a reasonable. Close to beach, not so far from santa barbara.
The toilet doesn't flash.
Very safe hotel and comfortable beds.
The cleanliness and the updated decor in what is obviously an old establishment. The jacuzzi and pool were very clean and well maintained. It was close to where I wanted to be in the downtown area of Carpenteria and despite the fact that it was Fiesta Days in Santa Barbara and everyone else had raised their prices outrageously, this was still a modest priced motel even with their price raise.
The bed was not comfortable. Fortunately because it was warm I slept on top of the comforter which helped make the bed tolerable.
near the sea , it was 4th o july not easy to find hotel in a short notice . so it was lucky to find one with that price , i wanted to stay closer to the cetre ....it was not easy so it was good option
The room a bit small , the stairs
After enduring a really small room that badly needed a paint job, I woke up to bug bites everywhere! Further, it is outrageously overpriced for what you get.
It was a reasonable price
It was pretty cramped and there were ant in the bathroom, lots of ants.
They did a good job in refurbing the motel.
There were no comforts, no clock, no lamps, no shelves in bathroom for toiletries, no smoke alarm, only one chair (not comfortable)
It's a very simple but well maintained place, and they were renovating the floors, so it will look even nicer soon. There's a pool and also a table with chairs so you can have a snack outside (always nice). the rooms were clean and luckily we didn't get the front ones, so it was pretty quiet too. Wi-fi worked better than most motels I've been in California!
The shower wasn't very good, and the towels, oh my, they were thin and very rough. No breakfast…
The king room was small but cozy and the noise factor was next to none even though the motel was full.
Would really have preferred to have a microwave also. The room had a nice size frig.
