Spa was beautiful. Steak house was the best restaurant! Chef Bo is superb and ask for waiter Alex C. Property is on the water - gorgeous sunsets! Used the bicycles instead of a tram.

The concierge was always busy, and somewhat impatient. Maybe hire more?? I had to wait 3 days to get a a table at the Steak House; it was Xmas holiday.
Beautiful facility with many amenities. We will definitely be planning to return in the future.

Proximity to Sanibel Island.
Having to pay $15.00 per day to self park our car. There was plenty of parking spaces and I have a handicap placard and still had to pay the money while parking in the handicap spot.

The pillows need all changed. They have a funk smell that will not go away. All bed linens should be changed daily .

Registration was quick, easy and courteous. Valet was quick and professional. The view was beautiful. Rooms were comfortable.
Restaurant service was a tiny bit disappointing. But the food was very good. Lounge drinks were average.

Beautiful accommodations and grounds. Pool was nice and the hammocks were an excellent added touch. The view of the area from the balcony was spectacular. King size bed was comfortable and room was well appointed w a very nice bathroom and shower.
There's not much to do without a toll ride out to sanibel. A small park is within walking distance but other than that...

Beautiful location and accommodating staff
The front lobby area was visually appealing, however as you got further into the hotel, it was obviously very dated and needed more renovation. Captiva tower was newer than the Sanibel tower. Elevators tell a story, and those were pretty beat up in the Sanibel tower. For the amount of the stay it should be top notch accommodations, keeping in mind that the cost doesn't even cover a full 24 (1 day) stay, which hotels usually never do anyway. But, When you charge that much per night, we have big expectations, and unfortunately this property didn't quite "fit the bill".

Staff was kind and helpful.
The hotel forces you to pay for parking ($20 daily) then charges an extra $15 daily for resort fee which includes wireless and parking (parking which we already paid for separate charges). Basically the extra $15 daily was for wireless. Furthermore, the hotel restaurant prices were way overpriced for food that was half price if you left the resort and went around the corner (much better restaurants on water.
The room had a nice view and a nice balcony. The staff was pleasant, but they never carried through with promises to bring over coffee. The housekeeping staff was super nice but didn't clean under the bed which I accidentally noticed when I had to pick up a ring I dropped. Their vacuums, in all fairness, were not designed to go under the beds.
The pool was disgustingly dirty. The water actually smelled and had big clumps of hair in in at the bottom. How expensive is it to vacuum the pool? Little things like really cheap toilet paper and no coffee did not help either. It had a lot of potential but just didn't deliver.
Love the view of Gulf and the beautiful walkways throughout the resort. Our Bell Man Max was fabulous very attentive to our needs , very courteous and polite young man. Breakfast buffet very good.
Monday morning everything went downhill. The pool at the Capitiva Unit had dirty towels from the day before laying on lounge chairs, the pool was full of debri and not skimming, no clean towels out. No water on the second level. The dining area had 2 upper management people standing at the side lines. One of which never smiled looked like a bouncer at a bar and seem to make all the staff nervous.
