Second time to stay there and was an excellent stay again. Everything was comfortable and staff was great. Close to the square and other tourist sites. Lots of shops and food choices.
Cannot think of one negative thing about the stay.
design, hot tub, location, Buddha
could be a bit more clean in the corners and the parking was next door but $20. that is just VERY picky
I liked the room and the espresso machine that was free saves us a little bit on our trip and that it is attached to a sushi bar and its location.
When we first arrived after securing our suite and discussing the room with the guy the night before they put us in the wrong room that was much smaller. I had to address it with the desk guy and get our orignal room that we paid for and when we checked out we had to wait some time and no one was anywhere to be found.
For a boutique hotel in downtown Santa Fe I was anticipating paying double the price I did. In this case I got WAY more than I paid for. The value of price versus eclectic/chic furnishings and services is unmatched. Location was so convenient and the amenities were spot on. I would definitely recommend Luxx to anyone visiting Santa Fe.
There were only a few things that were a bit sub par. 1) There were personal items from the previous guests left in a wardrobe. 2) The laundry room is close to the entrance and the door was open 90% of the time. This small eye sore really put a damper on the overall ambiance and took away from all the other perfectly appointed areas. 3) hotel attendants were difficult to locate when you needed them. If they said they would be at the desk at 8 a.m. no one would show up until 8:15. However, once we were assisted the staff was very nice and accommodating. In the grand scheme these were small items and would be easy areas to improve. The major areas (bed, cleanliness, price) were great!
The location was perfect -- just steps from Plaza and most other attractions. The price (I paid roughly $100 a night with a "discount") was reasonable. The original asking price of $160 a night would have been excessive. The staff (when they were there) was friendly and helpful. "Louie" agreed to store my bag for several hours after checkpout.
After reading the reviews (see "Noisy Property" Oct 10, 2014), I asked on check-in for a quiet room and inquired what to do if people are making noise late at night in the hot tub. "Louie" assured me no one would be using the tub during Winter and anyway the garden area is closed after 10:00 p.m. I told him about the recent review and asked what to do in case someone violates the curfew and he gave me an after-hours phone number to call. Based on this, I took the nicest available roon which happened to adjoin the garden. At 2:00 a.m. that night I was awakened by a couple loudly talking in the tub. I called the after-hours but was disconnected. I then had to get on my clothes and go out and confront the couple and tell them they needed to quiet down. This is at least the second time this has happened. Clients obviously are willing to blow off the rules and no one is there at night to enforce them. The owner needs to suck it up and pay some extra money to buy a lock for the hot tub or install a gate to the garden. Other concerns -- Staff was not there either morning until about 9:00 a.m. Wifi connection was also very spotty and intermittent, to the point that I gave up on checking e-mail. This was an ideal location at a reasonable price but given the above headaches, I wouldn't stay here again.
It's got kind of a cool vibe. Location is great as well.
Really I stayed here for 2 nights and saw someone at the front desk 1 time. Also went to check out and there was no staff. It's just odd.
Decor Comfort Staff Location Internet tv
Location is great, staff friendly and helpful. Good lighting and modern decor. Coffee shop inbfront of building. Very short walk to plaza, museums, restaurants and shopping.
No shelf space in bathroom for toiletries. No soap at sink so you have to use soap dispenser from shower to wash your hands.
Great location - we could walk everywhere. It is hidden away behind a restaurant.
Coffee maker, fridge and microwave were great. The location is perfect - just where you need to be in Santa Fe. The staff was very helpful and friendly.
Room 14 - the bathroom was very small. The room was on the ground floor beside the side entrance. Noisy guests coming home late at night could be heard clearly. Also, the blinds did not close and the curtains did not quite close fully. A small thing that can easily be fixed.
The hotel is just near the plaza in the city center.
No free parking available, we can park on the public parking near the hotel but it's very expensive (20$/night). The room they gave us was too dark : the first part of the room didn't have any windows and the second part had two windows just in front of a big wall. So no natural light at all. No breakfast.
Great location, quiet, nice decor. No key to lose or deactivate with your smartphone.
No individual a/c or heat. $20/Day parking charge not disclosed up front. Euro shower gel instead of solid soap. Absent staff--claimed they are there by 7:30 am, but not there till 10:30 first day and sometime after 9:15 the next.
Location and using a code to access the hotel and room - no lost cards or keys!
Pretty tacky furnishings, very small bathroom, very dark interior (one small north facing window). This is not a room you want to hang out in.
Our host, Alex, went above and beyond assisting us with any questions we had. He was extraordinary and very friendly. You should give him a bonus!!!!! That private patio with the hot tub was the BOMB!!! Very comfortable. The location is exceptional-close to everything. Parking was very convenient. We love being able to park and walk everywhere. Did I mention Alex was the ideal host?
There was nothing we didn't like.
Great location. Staff helpful. The room was very spacious and clean. Nice toiletries in bathroom. In room 7 we had windows on two sides which let in more light. Great coffee shop next door.
The tv was controlled by a keyboard which was bulky and uncomfortable. Would have liked a remote control. No phone in the room. Bedside lamp not good for reading.
Location is excellent.
We stayed in room 10 which has an outside entryway that opens onto the property's tiny patio and hot tub area. You can hear every conversation that takes place on the patio inside the room. Had to get up at 2 am to tell the kids in the hot tub that the hot tub area is closed after 10pm.
Right near the plaza
It's only a block from the Santa Fe Plaza. Was attending a wedding there, and the Luxx was great to be able to walk to later. Very clean, friendly and helpful young man checked us in. Good décor, bed was comfortable, got a great night's sleep.
It does shut down at 10:00 - no staff on hand if there was a problem. Also, an alley right outside our window that leads to the side entrance door - some late nighters were a little noisy. No view out the window - just the alley.
Fabulous place for a decent price! We WILL be back. LOVED this place! Lots of character and charm!
Room was a little bright with light at night due to curtain not being dark enough to shade a light bulb coming in through the window from the hallway. But our stay there was still FABULOUS .
Perfect location, really great atmosphere- great interors! Really good with the outdoor patio! We had booked for one night but extended our stay with an extra night! :-D
No coffee before the reseption opened- could have had a coffe machine outside thre reseption.
We were looking for a place near the plaza that was unique and fun. The reviews seemed to reflect that yet was not sure what it would be like. Walking into the place we know we had found it from the entry area, the halls and the room. The bed was wonderful and they had a gift of a Serenity CD on it. We brought our bikes to get around and left the car in the secured parking area next door.
That we didn't have more time!
Lobby, Difficulty of parking. Terrible room for the money. Food smell from neighboring kitchen permeated throughout.
Unique!!! Loved the spa products and decor !!!
Carpet seemed a little dirty and shower handle fell off but could still use. First visit and was a challenge to find lobby and to know where to park to register, all good after that.
It was a great location, beautiful decor, and the coffee/gelato shop next door is wonderful.
Couple of things. When we arrived, we were told that the bed preferences we selected at booking were not confirmed - that we had to call the hotel to make sure we got what we wanted. And of course, the room configuration we originally reserved was no longer available. So instead of a king bed and a queen bed, we had a double and 2 twins. Not ideal but workable (and they comped 1 night of parking as a way to make up for the problem). The other issue is that in back bedroom in room 3 - there was a constant burbling sound - like one was in an aquarium. Very distracting and made it hard to sleep the first night. When mentioned to staff, they said it could be the air conditioner - and that they had never had that complaint before... which I sort of doubt.
I hate hotel. Com
