Breakfast not included. Expensive parking. Parking garage is very narrow.
Conveniently located hotel. Very good customer service. Comfortable bed. Clean room. Coffee maker in the room.
I have stayed at the hotel before and didn't hesitate to return. The location was very convenient for me.
The only problem was that the walls were rather thin and I could hear conversations on either side of me.
The location was good and having the shuttle was very helpful. Scenery was beautiful around the site (although the scaffolding was not the best to look at). The staff were very helpful and professional.
The foreign manager did not make it clear that it cost 10 dollars for continental breakfast and 15 if you had an omelet. I checked my 87 year old dad's bill and they charged for 5 omelet breakfast. I asked everyone and only 2 had omelets. I made them recalculate the bill and split it into two parties. I felt deceived.
The free wifi was the best feature. The mattresses were firm but had memory foam and that was comfortable.
They were under construction and refurbishing the hotel. So it was not inviting and we had to askk for a change of room because of the noise generated from the people working very early in the morning. So we were not able to rest. We could have spent the same money on a nice hotel not under construction.
Cleanliness and comfort of room
The staff was very helpful, they always were available to give directions. The room was big, the bed was very comfortable. If you take public transportation, you can take a bus that leaves you one block from the hotel. There are a lot of stores and restaurants in the surround of the hotel. There's just one supermarket very close to the supermarket, and is a little bit expensive.
location, staff, plenty of restaurants, safe area
Restaurant actually quite good - can't figure out why is isn't busier. Close to neighborhood businesses. Very friendly staff.
No confined to Savoy Suites and DC alone It is very difficult travelling in America these days because so few people speak English. Most low-paid Service Industry jobs are taken up by poorly educated new arrivals. It is a trial just being understood. More purposeful and professional training required by all vendors not just allowing new arrivals to learn on the job. Several of the bar staff had almost zero English despite one having been around supposedly for16 years. Hard to believe I know.
That they could offer such great service was remarkable in itself. Wonderful mattresses and clean rooms and good quality bathrooms. We appreciated the attentiveness by Owen Basil, Director of Special Projects who managed the place by walking around-known as MBWA. Special mention must go to Ahmad (born in USA), and Victor.
the construction work that's was going on during my stay
The room was great
Parking lot was...cramped. Remodeling of outer facade of hotel woke me up very early (though manager did waive my parking fee bc of it). Also, for some reason, elevator stops @ lobby floor no matter what, on way down or up.
Location in Georgetown was good for what I needed.
1. Despite full price, was given room that had not yet been fully completed--shortage of tables so had to use floor to operate coffee maker--which was broken anyway--and all electric outlets were dysfunctional except in bathroom. 2. Saw coffee stand downstairs and was told by staff "It's free" and then ate about 5 bites of egg only at buffet as we (wife and myself) were in rush and thought it was free--no sign otherwise--and then handed $33 bill.
Nice quality place
Location, parking, value
The staff went up and beyond to make sure we could use the metro system throughout the city. Made it very simple to utilize it.
Beds in both rooms were sub- standard, they were very low in the middle, and not flat, needed turning, or at least a sheet of cardboard under the matress...
The staff was very attentive, especially hen we had to swithch rooms because of the bed.
they have nothing for free. I needed an extra bed they made me pay 20$. The parking for 30$. The wifi is so bad.
I can't believe this place had a rating of 8.4 out of 10. There's plenty of construction going on So it looks horrible going in. There's still an old floor heating unit. I confirmed a king bed in my reservation but had to take a queen double room, as there were no more king rooms available. By the way, parking is $30/day!
Brunch at Twist
Reception gave us the wrong directions twice and told us the wrong bus to catch. They also forgot to order our cab for the morning which put us 25 mins behind schedule ultimately leading us to miss our flight in Baltimore. Hotel is a little out of the way from the city
Great pub down the road called the bourbon bar make sure you get the Salmon :-) Rooms were good
One staff in the night was rude
Location Food Wifi Morning Staffs were good
The lady at thd desk walked away when I walked in after a long drive, the other was on the phone. It was close to midnight so you would expect a decent reception. Room: stains in the carpets, partially poly sheets which made them electro static: blue lightning when turning over in bed! Red finger prints on wall behind toilet. Oh and they were doing drilling work on outside facade.
Location, beds were okay and bathroom was updated
Noisy heater and even noisier neighbors.
Bed. Fridge. View.
Dirty Room service tray outside in the hall for two days. Construction on rooms starting at 8:30 that was so loud we could not continue a telephone conversation.
The staff was wonderful.
Overall, my experience was very good. There were only two issues: 1. The hotel was under construction (which is understandable) but there was excessively loud drilling throughout the building for several hours during the middle of the day (9 AM -- 3 PM) with only a half hour reprieve for lunch. As I was on a business trip and had scheduled virtual interviews via Skype, the drilling proved to be a MAJOR inconvenience. I think there should have been a pre-warning letter to customers advising them of this BEFORE booking. It would not be an issue if one were out all day, but I actually needed to work from my room! The staff tried to accommodate me by giving me the ballroom / conference room area for 45 minutes, but the situation was quite stressful and far from ideal...and was potentially a deal breaker -- a job interview with drilling in the background!!! Guests booking for business purposes should have been given forewarning! 2. The food in the restaurant was quite pricey and very mediocre.
There were some excellent features: 1. Great value for the money 2. Extremely courteous staff all around: desk, restaurant, shuttle driver 3. Decent and convenient location 4. Clean bathroom 5. Comfortable beds 6. Convenient amenities 7. Nice view
Airco to get room warmer was noisy.
Room was clean, good size. Breakfast was good. Staff helpfull.
