Score from 907 reviews Good
We loved the 'Old Hawaii' style of this hideaway. Not the typical 'resort', but that isn't what we wanted. So glad we didn't book a place in Waikiki. It was a pleasure to tour Oahu and come 'home' here. Breakfast was great! View was great!
We thought the place could have been a little cleaner and when our toilet backed up on the Sunday, it didn't get fixed until Monday.
Friendliness of staff, location of room, view, activities. There are a variety of accommodation; the waterfront cottages are outstanding.
A bit far from other things like restaurants and stores, but not too far once you figure out the geography.
Excellent room and services. fantastic breakfast. staff very helpful and courteous
need better signage to get to the resort.
The location has incredible charm. The room that we chosen had incredible views, the personal was really nice with us, we had the feeling of staying in a magical place. We also attended a free luau. Ignore other comments about the breakfast, it was just perfect. And the breakfast place was really beautiful, and with great views. We felt like being in the jungle (in particular it reminds me of Jurassic Park). If you come to the hotel for luxury, it's not your place. If you want a charming and magical place, then go for it without doubts. I'd come back again, with no doubts.
Nice view, we had ocean view room. Very nice green surroundings.
Noisy aircondition. Breakfast disapointing. Terrible internet wifi connection.
-The wonderful View. The resort was as we've imagined the hawaian islands it was typical ( lot of trees, flowers...) - the big breakfast very very delicious (guaya juice!) - the people who work at the resort: helpful and nice
It was perfect: two wonderful nights of our honeymoon in the hawaian islands!
Beautiful nature, scenery.
No beach. Brown water in the bay. Resort is located in a ghetto area. The service/cleaning was uneven. Resort located far from beaches, convenience stores etc.
Nice setting and great views from the terrace café of the mountains. The Monday night entertainment was good. Sufficient parking, pleasant floating boat dock to sit at.
It all felt a bit amateur, although the staff were clearly trying. Dinner service was very slow, breakfast eggs cooked to rubber. The room layouts adapt to interlink, but as a single room this leaves paper-thin locked doors to the next room, and a staircase to nowhere, not exactly cosy. Rooms were dark with thin curtains. Pest control was clearly lacking. I'd expect better at half the price.
Awesome and quiet place, really nice view in the breakfast. They have free kayak and everyday there are some activities. Pool is clean and it's a perfect place to rest and visit de east coast of oahu
Depending on what you book the rooms doesn't have any view. Humidity +++ and noisy AC All this area doesn't have near restaurants or shops like waikiki but it's because all this coast is like this. We had a really nice stay.
The rooms were separated by a door and I could hear EVERYTHING the neighbours were doing. I could even hear the key when they opened the door, every step and everything they said. The furniture was so dark and old, the room is nothing close to a 4 star resort. The room did not have air condition and guess what, is a resort. What a big disappointment. I will never return to this place. For you who is considering to stay here I can only say: use your money and stay at a real resort like Turtle Bay in North Shore.
Food was fair to bad. Fair for free. Bad if you had to pay for it.
Liked general area. Not many hotels available in area. Scones great, juices great, eggs good. Staff helpful and friendly. Generally well intended facility just poor accessibility for the less able.
The stairs were difficult for older people. Couldn't get to areas like pool and docks. Wish better accessibility. Turkey Bacon ok, veggie sausage not good.
We liked the view from the dock .
The resort was extremely hard to find by car and phone directions were confusing. We thought the room was very dark. We were disappointed that we had no view from our room and no beach to access. The price seemed high for this.
I loved this place because it is nestled in a real neighborhood, so you avoid all the tourist-traps. I also enjoyed the early morning kayak trips, and snorkeling g adventures! It is awesome!
Location is good, view is magnificent. Friendly owners and spacious rooms and terraces. Nice to have a kitchen in the room. Beach towels and snorkling gear are free of charge.
Amenities are poor given the room rates (300-400 dollars a night). Cleaning was only once in two days, but they missed out one day. So our room was only cleaned once during our six-day stay. Little activities, uninspired staff and noisy neighbours. Spacious room and location/view didn't make up for this.
Waking up to the beautiful view of the mountain, the place near the sand bar. You must take a kayak from the resort to go to the sand bar.
Our room was the room 13, we heard a lot of noise from other rooms that close to us.
Beautiful outlook from our lanai and dining room - location is fantastic and you feel like you are a world away from a big city. You are only half an hour away from shopping and Waikiki, and a quick drive in the other direction takes you to some wonderful beaches so you have the best of everything. Staff were wonderful and very helpful, accommodation was lovely - we stayed in a waterfront cottage and this was gorgeous. We had a tour that took us snorkeling and out on to the sand bar. This was great fun, although the two hours went way too quickly. Pillows were the best we have ever slept on! Coffee at breakfast - delicious!
Parking was at a premium and sometimes we could not find a spot close to our cottage, but there was always somewhere. In the waterfront cottage, the couch was not very comfortable and a place that sleeps four should probably be able to seat four people in front of TV. We stayed for five nights and found that there was not a big variety in breakfast, but there was plenty of food available.
Nice location, but hardly paradise. However, it appears there are very few other hotel/motels in the area.
Wayyyyyy overpriced. It had a rather kitchen-like set-up, but small things, like no ice bucket, and empty ice cube trays in the refrigerate were, to say the least, annoying.
The location is very special with stunning views. A relaxed, low-key, friendly resort--a very different experience than frenetic Waikiki.
Trying to keep the bungalow cool was a challenge.
This was away from the fast pace, a true getaway.
We stayed for ten days. Plenty of closet space, could have used a small dresser.
Friendly staff Facillities Quiet Activities
No beach Seamed to be at the ´rain-side´
Old facility with very noisy window AC units
This resort is an oasis. Great staff, lovely rooms and an amazing view
It is not very easy to find.
We loved our waterfront cottage. The water lapping at the deck was very calming. The view from our room was spectacular. Very clean room, no bugs. Fresh hot breakfast every morning on the outside patio restaurant was lovely. Research your rooms carefully because there is a wide variety. Our waterfront cottage was number 27 and was perfect. We wanted to be right on the water and we were.
Made service came every day to make the bed, empty trash and bring fresh towels. My only complaint was they didn't do the dishes, LOL. Their website needs to have a map of the compound and where the different rooms are located, so you can choose the best room for yourself.
Nice environment in secluded and quiet area Nice breakfast Great mountain views Friendly staff Dinner options on site with local food and entertainment
AC system not very good All the room don't have the same patio and view on the mountains Sound proofing not good No direct to the beach
