Hotel room was spacious and clean; bathroom was nicely appointed; patio was private and pleasant.
Bed was too high off the floor, hard to get into if you are short. Non-refundable pet fee of $30 for a one -night stay was excessive.
It was a cute room but upon arriving I killed quite a few ants in the bathroom.
The ants in the bathroom.
We were greeted in a friendly and efficient manner and our two-night stay was very comfortable. In close proximity to the downtown and Cannery Row. Great value for the money!!
Close to many restaurants, 17 mile drive and beautiful area....Room was clean, well decorated and comfortable.
Everything was great. Staff was really helpful. Great suggestions for place to eat!!! Quiet room bed was very comfortable. Looking foward to our next visit.
The room was hot no AC unit and no breeze to Cool it down they should at least tell you this or rooms should have fan. Also called for towels in the morning and the front desk clerk told me to come to the office and pick them up. I have never paid to stay somewhere and I have to go pick up towels to bathe with. The office was across the street so wasn't like it was next door.
Location to everything
We were told one thing by the office and received another on more then one occassion which leads me to believe they tell you what you want to hear and they do what works best for the staff NOT the client.
Only good thing is the location - very convenient to everything in Pacific Grove and Monterey, and very easy to find. We love the neighborhood – it is charming, and we witnessed deer every day that we were there.
We chose this "lodge" because it falsely appeared charming on its website and we did not want a plain, nondescript motel room for our anniversary. Not only is that what we got for $250 a night, but it is/was old, and not in a good way. Also, the "king executive suite" is incredibly small. Off the top of my head - old non-flat panel TV with a non-working remote. Old ugly furniture, including lamps. Bathroom Is disgusting and laid out terribly - large size, but with a tiny vanity and a glued on mirror that Is totally crooked! When you turn on the bathroom light, the fan also turns on and it is so loud that you have to yell over it to be heard. The lamps and sconce in the room are so dim that you can't see anything. The front desk advised us that the rooms had recently been remodeled - if so, they shouldn't have bothered - terrible design choices and they obviously used the cheapest materials. There is absolutely no privacy nor security - walls are thin and if you open your curtains in front of the very thin windows, the entire area can see in. I called the front desk at 11pm to request a wakeup call, and got a recording that the office was closed until 8am the next morning. Pool and jacuzzi area is very small and unattractive. We will not be staying there again. Room Tip: They have little cottages that might be okay. Avoid the regular hotel rooms.
Beautiful , new cottage, private, secluded, perfect
Very comfortabl and clean! Staff was very helipful! Price per Niight was so reasonable, with a geat continental breakfast! Dog friendly with the best price per stay around.,.
We have 2 dogs and they were very accommodating. The grounds were perfect and it was a close walk to take the dogs to the beach.
The rooms were a bit small for all of us, but we made it work.
The location is terrific. Walking distance to the town, the beaches and the coastline. The price was the second best thing, one of the cheapest available. Pacific Grove is a pricey area, so getting reasonable rates in high season is a plus. The staff were the third best thing -- very responsive and pleasant.
Rooms are very cramped, no table or chair for sitting down. Just room for a bed and a TV. For two nights we had quiet neighbors. On the third and last we endured the opposite. So beware of thin walls. The walkways are right next to the only window so privacy is an issue. It was hot and we had to ask for a fan because there is no AC. The pool was usually too crowded, but probably a good thing for families with kids. The "breakfast" is coffee, tea and muffins (that aren't that great). The coffee wasn't good either -- too weak. All being said, you stay for the price and location.
Everything was centrally located. We parked the car and walked the ocean path to Monterey. A nice hike and continued on to Fisherman's Warf. The next day we found our way to Carmel. We will come back.
It was fairly warm so the room was hot when we returned for the day. But we opened the door and window and it cooled down right away without an air conditioner.
The setting is priceless, the accommodation sits perfectly among the native trees.
We found the beds a little too high off the floor, otherwise, nothing at all.
TV channels were very limited and selection was bad. Need to add FOX News. Not everyone likes CNN.
The location in Pacific Grove is wonderful, easy walk to the lighthouse, ocean views just down the street, nice walk into town (Pacific Grove - four wonderful restaurants there plus the best sandwich shop around). My room was small but very clean and the bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly and accommodating.
Could you say room was small and the TV was not the best - yes but for the price are you here to play in your room and watch TV? If yes, then stay home!!!!
Pet room had bad smell - very old carpet that had urine smell. Had to open windows all night to sleep due to smell. Shower had low pressure. King room was very small, no desk.
Very nice double rooms in a great location 5-10 mins walk from the coast and a short drive from Monterey.
Breakfast a bit limited - only tea/coffee and muffins, although the muffins were very nice!
It was very quiet, the room was clean and comfy even though it's a very old facility - it was close to the town and the beaches.
Our television didn't work (no signal), we called several times on Saturday, it was "jerry-rigged" to work Sat nite, however NO ONE returned to properly fix it on Sun, it quit again and was still not working when we left on Monday. They did give us a discount on our Sunday rate to compensate for the inconvenience. Also we were right next to the pool, and listened to the hot tub run and run and run!
There was a pet bed and dog bones in the room for our dog. The surrounding neighborhood was a nice place to walk and it was just a few blocks away from Alisomar state Beach
The setting, the room, the staff, we couldn't have been more pleased.
That we didn't have more time there
Location was good and room was clean. Maid service was ok
Location is great but otherwise Motel 6 would be a significant upgrade, especially for amenities. $175/night but no shower gel, etc. and no fruit or milk for oatmeal at free breakfast (only other offering was muffins). At least the room was clean.
Amazing location, for the price really
The room we had was a bit small compared to any other motel.
The room was very clean and updated
Noisy heater No A/C
