We chose this "lodge" because it falsely appeared charming on its website and we did not want a plain, nondescript motel room for our anniversary. Not only is that what we got for $250 a night, but it is/was old, and not in a good way. Also, the "king executive suite" is incredibly small. Off the top of my head - old non-flat panel TV with a non-working remote. Old ugly furniture, including lamps. Bathroom Is disgusting and laid out terribly - large size, but with a tiny vanity and a glued on mirror that Is totally crooked! When you turn on the bathroom light, the fan also turns on and it is so loud that you have to yell over it to be heard. The lamps and sconce in the room are so dim that you can't see anything.
The front desk advised us that the rooms had recently been remodeled - if so, they shouldn't have bothered - terrible design choices and they obviously used the cheapest materials.
There is absolutely no privacy nor security - walls are thin and if you open your curtains in front of the very thin windows, the entire area can see in.
I called the front desk at 11pm to request a wakeup call, and got a recording that the office was closed until 8am the next morning.
Pool and jacuzzi area is very small and unattractive.
We will not be staying there again.
Room Tip: They have little cottages that might be okay. Avoid the regular hotel rooms.
Only good thing is the location - very convenient to everything in Pacific Grove and Monterey, and very easy to find. We love the neighborhood – it is charming, and we witnessed deer every day that we were there.
