staff was axcellent convenient location, clean rooms
Room was a little small. Fine for one person would be tight for a couple.
Location and cost.
The hotel is very nice. Like a small village where every guest have is proper home. Position very good, sea and village are very closed to hotel.
The staff was very efficient during the reservation process and check in/out. There was a pet package waiting for us in our room. This was a nice touch. This Lodge is very pet friendly. Pets are not allowed in the lobby or pool area but that is understandable considering other patrons. The rooms were very clean. We will be back with our dog!
Had to walk across the street to get breakfast. King bed was a bit sagging in the middle. Otherwise it would be perfect.
Just one minute from the tip of the land to see marvelous sunset and moon rise, we saw both within 30 minutes. Comfortable and clean room, we got upgraded to bigger room. Thanks.
I loved the place right from the start. The reception was friendly, courteous, and gave us a list of restaurants close by with discounts. Parking was good...able to park right by the cottage we were assigned. When we opened the door, we were pleasantly surprised, better than the pictures on the web site. The décor and chosen paint colors were designer quality. We had brought our Papillion and were impressed by the note from "Monty" offering a treat, bags, dog bed, and places to go with dogs. I can't think of anything they missed. Grounds were lovely. I'd stay again next time we visit.
The decor and comfy bed were our favorite. The shower was also amazing
The fridge, though useful, was very noisy. There were coffee, but no tea-making facilities.
Though a longish walk into the centre of the charming town of Pacific Grove for any meals, groceries, or other services, the location of the Sea Breeze is blissfully quiet--only the ocean can be heard. The cottages are recently redecorated (more modern than PG cottage) and well-equipped; with fridge, microwave, iron, etc. A breakfast snack of mainly muffins is offered.
The breakfast was cut muffins and orange juice. Nothing worth getting excited about. Room was kinda small
The fire pit was a gathering place, and chance to meet fellow travelers
Rooms spread across both sides of a busy road. Breakfast had to be carried across the road as there was no room in lobby for tables or seating and too cold to sit outside.
Reasonable price for the area. Staff friendly, allowed us to use staff restroom as our room wasn't ready. Nice area out side in the sun to sit and wait.
Room was a bit chilly, only heater in the room was an old gas fired model which was noisy. Room was also very full of furniture which made it seem smaller than it was.
Great location close to the sea, free coffee and muffins for breakfast, comfy bed and very clean.
Bed was too high off the floor, hard to get into if you are short. Non-refundable pet fee of $30 for a one -night stay was excessive.
Hotel room was spacious and clean; bathroom was nicely appointed; patio was private and pleasant.
The ants in the bathroom.
It was a cute room but upon arriving I killed quite a few ants in the bathroom.
We were greeted in a friendly and efficient manner and our two-night stay was very comfortable. In close proximity to the downtown and Cannery Row. Great value for the money!!
Close to many restaurants, 17 mile drive and beautiful area....Room was clean, well decorated and comfortable.
Everything was great. Staff was really helpful. Great suggestions for place to eat!!! Quiet room bed was very comfortable. Looking foward to our next visit.
The room was hot no AC unit and no breeze to Cool it down they should at least tell you this or rooms should have fan. Also called for towels in the morning and the front desk clerk told me to come to the office and pick them up. I have never paid to stay somewhere and I have to go pick up towels to bathe with. The office was across the street so wasn't like it was next door.
We were told one thing by the office and received another on more then one occassion which leads me to believe they tell you what you want to hear and they do what works best for the staff NOT the client.
Location to everything
We chose this "lodge" because it falsely appeared charming on its website and we did not want a plain, nondescript motel room for our anniversary. Not only is that what we got for $250 a night, but it is/was old, and not in a good way. Also, the "king executive suite" is incredibly small. Off the top of my head - old non-flat panel TV with a non-working remote. Old ugly furniture, including lamps. Bathroom Is disgusting and laid out terribly - large size, but with a tiny vanity and a glued on mirror that Is totally crooked! When you turn on the bathroom light, the fan also turns on and it is so loud that you have to yell over it to be heard. The lamps and sconce in the room are so dim that you can't see anything. The front desk advised us that the rooms had recently been remodeled - if so, they shouldn't have bothered - terrible design choices and they obviously used the cheapest materials. There is absolutely no privacy nor security - walls are thin and if you open your curtains in front of the very thin windows, the entire area can see in. I called the front desk at 11pm to request a wakeup call, and got a recording that the office was closed until 8am the next morning. Pool and jacuzzi area is very small and unattractive. We will not be staying there again. Room Tip: They have little cottages that might be okay. Avoid the regular hotel rooms.
Only good thing is the location - very convenient to everything in Pacific Grove and Monterey, and very easy to find. We love the neighborhood – it is charming, and we witnessed deer every day that we were there.
Beautiful , new cottage, private, secluded, perfect
Very comfortabl and clean! Staff was very helipful! Price per Niight was so reasonable, with a geat continental breakfast! Dog friendly with the best price per stay around.,.
The rooms were a bit small for all of us, but we made it work.
We have 2 dogs and they were very accommodating. The grounds were perfect and it was a close walk to take the dogs to the beach.
Rooms are very cramped, no table or chair for sitting down. Just room for a bed and a TV. For two nights we had quiet neighbors. On the third and last we endured the opposite. So beware of thin walls. The walkways are right next to the only window so privacy is an issue. It was hot and we had to ask for a fan because there is no AC. The pool was usually too crowded, but probably a good thing for families with kids. The "breakfast" is coffee, tea and muffins (that aren't that great). The coffee wasn't good either -- too weak. All being said, you stay for the price and location.
The location is terrific. Walking distance to the town, the beaches and the coastline. The price was the second best thing, one of the cheapest available. Pacific Grove is a pricey area, so getting reasonable rates in high season is a plus. The staff were the third best thing -- very responsive and pleasant.
It was fairly warm so the room was hot when we returned for the day. But we opened the door and window and it cooled down right away without an air conditioner.
Everything was centrally located. We parked the car and walked the ocean path to Monterey. A nice hike and continued on to Fisherman's Warf. The next day we found our way to Carmel. We will come back.
