close to the beach
old and smelly
I loved the location and all that the Sea Mist has to offer!
Ocean View. On the beach. Price. Pools. Shower was like a power washer.
Horrible Parking. No coffee pot. 1 Elevator Broke. 4 PM check-in. 11:00 checkout. Balcony door very hard to open.
There were people hanging out in the hallways of this place and you had to try to get through them and thank goodness I didn't bring my young children because the language was horrible. They had pit bulls that were living on the property. It was the worst place I have ever stayed. I had no idea I was staying in a place where people are living here for a long length of a time. This was my worst trip to Myrtle Beach ever!
Along with the price, I liked the great ocean view. It was quiet and the room clean.
The day we arrived, one of the elevators was not working. Also, the carpet in the elevators was quite dirty. The fan in the bathroom was loud. No WiFi in room.
location was great. room was comfortable and clean. liked having the kitchen. good prices. we will stay again.
just needs updating. wifi was not good at all. need to get more sports channels on tv.
sea mist's location is great. The room was wonderful and clean. The staff was friendly.I would stay again.
The only thing i would change about the weekend ,is i would book ocean front next time.
Total unraveling of this group of unorganized buildings. The brochure picture is a laugh. Unbelievable!
I liked that the hotel is close to most attractions and restaurants we wanted to visit.
We couldn't find the hotel using the address provided by booking.com. When I tried to call for assistance, I could only get a recorded message and was sent straight to voicemail. The room was very dated and in serious need of renovations. My daughter found a hair in her bedding when we arrived. Housekeeping came early each morning and made a lot of noise in the hallway. I had to cross a street to get to a mediocre cup of coffee I had to pay for and fix myself in the service area of the restaurant. We didn't let these things ruin our weekend but will definitely stay elsewhere next time we go to the beach. I've stayed in much nicer for a reasonable price.
The view of the ocean we had. The beds were comfy.
The place needs updated. There was mold on the mirror. The fridge was back from the 70s with mold on the side of it. Was nothing like what the picture looked like.
I enjoyed the hot tubs and the pool. I also liked the balcony and the fact that there was a kitchen. The staff was friendly and they had the very best breakfast buffet. No other compares. Lular, the staff creating the great pancakes, omelettes, waffles and french toasts was really nice and made our day each and every day we were there. Overall, for the price and the amazing breakfast it was pretty good. I would go back but when all of the amenities are open.
I believe it needs an upgrade. The room was nice but didn't have any ummphh to it. It needed a paint job, the railing on the balcony needed a paint job. The elevator was dingy but the staff was friendly. I was disappointed that many things were closed (like the waterpark, I was told it was off season) even though there was still 80 degree weather. Nightlife in that particular area was pretty quiet. I feel that when I purchased the room, I should have been informed as to what amenities were available and which ones were not.
All the amenities and the location.
Just didn't have enough time to stay longer.
I liked that the hotel was right on the beach.
This is a 2 star hotel. The pictures look great, but I didn't find that fantastic looking swimming pool. Mattress's very old; maids didn't even check balcony, where several cigarette butts were lying when I checked in. They could put the hotel's name on the side of the building so travelers could find it more easily. I couldn't find it with my GPS.
Comfortable suite. Indoor, heated pool, two jacuzzis. Close to the beach, even though not all rooms are oceanfront. View was ok. Staff friendly and helpful. Ticket outlet on property.
No internet service. Have to buy your own coffee. Building is old. Far walk to boardwalk, but close drive.
The staff were very good
Parking was terrible The beds are very old
I liked how close it was to the beach and the location of the pools. Room had wood floors, so felt cleaner than carpet, and they provided a broom and dustpan. The shower was wonderful! Partial balcony view wasn't too bad either, The only pool we tried was in front of Driftwood, and it was very warm and relaxing for cooler nights.
The elevators! We stayed in Driftwood towers and waited forever to get an elevator going up or down. They were just too busy to keep up with 16 floors. There wasn't even a stairwell nearby, and I was more willing to wait on that with a 3 year old kid and being on the 9th floor. We were not advised the water park and several pools, along with arcade, would be closed until after we booked and paid deposit.
I enjoyed the variety of activities for the kids and being right on the beach.
The bed and pillows were uncomfortable, didn't get a good nights sleep.
I liked that we had ocean view, and room was clean. I had a real pleasant stay.
That kiddie swimming pool was not available and would like to see more activities on the property such as open bar or karaoke.
The proximity to the beach was nice.
This entire hotel is clearly pet friendly. So, non-dog owners beware. The rooms reek of dog. The walls must be paper thin, because you can hear the dogs barking all night. Also, the housekeepers only drop off clean linen every other day (green initiative), to make the rooms yourself. Wondering how a pet friendly hotel avoids vacuuming, and cleaning dog inhibited rooms. There is no mention on the website of the extremely relaxed pet regulations. The decor is clearly from the grand opening of the hotel 60 years ago. Needless to say, very disappointed.
good location was able to stay at good location inexpensively
Elevators didn't work Given room that hadn't been cleaned yet
Room had a smell to it we had to go buy cleaning supplies just to be comfortable. Only hotel I've ever been to that charges extra to come in and make your bed.
Rooms were okay
Had to pay for items that were advertised as part of the accommodations. Elevators were poor condition.
The price was what made us stay with Sea Mist Oceanfront.
The rooms could of have used more lighting. The bedroom area was really dark even with the lamps turned on. The bathroom had mold stains on the ceilings that needs to be cleaned. The pillows were flat.
Great location and great rate for the room and accommodations.
