We booked a queen suite with ocean view & balcony. The room was clean & decorated nicely. We loved having the 2 rooms (living room & bedroom). The balcony actually faced the parking lot but all you had to do was turn your head to the right & the view of the beach was spectacular. Breakfast each morning made to order by Pete was wonderful. We had eggs, bacon, pancakes, fruit, coffee, & juice.
Really can't think of anything I didn't like.
Very peaceful and quiet. Beautiful beach and sunrises.
People can smoke on balconies which is annoying if you want to have your balcony door open or be out on balcony
Everything. The people, the facilities, the beach, the food, the attention to service.
location was great. staff was wonderful
Perfect location, lovely and helpful staff, great breakfast
My 2nd time there this year & 4th time ever. The rooms are always clean, staff is fantastic, namely Olivia, the Hotel Manager, who always makes me feel welcomed. Pete is a fantastic cook & always willing to bring your breakfast to your table, either inside or on the patio by the pool. I can't say enough good things about this place. Always a great value for our money.
The location was great, the hotel was clean and the staff was nice and helpful. I don't remember his name but the fellow who cooked breakfast was awesome!
The room was very small with very little storage. We had to ask for enough towels and wash clothes and even toilet tissue.
Bed pillows were very comfortable kitchenette nice
View not much for the poolside even for a studio it would have been nice to have some sort of table
Location, lovely. Staff helpful and friendly. Outstanding. Bedding was great quality and very comfortable.
A faucet to wash sandy feet at the back entrance would be great. Parking up top was very tight. Did not locate thermostat Til morning after a very warm night.
I loved the location, the hotel and the staff. The breakfast was an awesome surprise as well. This shall be my new "go to" place to just chill and relax.
My only complaint, is the a/c made alot of noise, waking me up in the night. But, everything else sort of canceled that out :)
Hotel/rooms were clean, breakfast was good, great location!
Room was a little small for 4 people- has 1 bed and a pullout couch.
Location on beach
Location, staff, and breakfast was great! Great and easy beach access. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Room was pretty tight, especially the bathroom. Balcony was small and very close to adjacent balconies, so smokers kept us off our balcony most of the time.
Near the beach, two televisions, fridge, clean, breakfast, living room area in room
Bed too soft, bed next to door, able to hear everything in other rooms, balconey overlooked parking lot more than beach, shower horrible, small bathroom with door that hit the bed when open, sofa in room not comfortable, room layout poor
I absolutely loved the location, right on the beach! No need the walk over sand dunes and carry your beach supplies for long. The breakfast was wonderful, made to order, and fresh.
The room was terrible. Extremely, uncomfortably small. The "king" sized bed was actually a "queen" bed. The phone didn't work. You basically had to leave the room to allow a call to come in.. The room was smaller than a cheap hotel room in New York City. It claims that it was comfortably fit 4 people; it cannot. The space between the bed and the wall is barely wide enough for walking space. The balcony was also very small, equipped with two small plastic chairs and an even smaller plastic table. The room was one of the most uncomfortable rooms I've ever been in.
The location is great and Harriet was very helpful
We were 2 adults and a 9 year old in a bedroom suite with overview balcony. Room was very clean....including the fold out couch. The linens were very nice. It wasn't the biggest room we have ever stayed in....but it was laid out well and we had everything we needed. The staff, from the moment we checked in, were over the top accomodating anything we needed, including recommendations for local fare. Harriet made us feel like family. The beach is right out the door. Fort Cinch State Park entrance is not even a block away. And historic downtown Fernandina is a direct 5 minutes drive from the Inn. Pete prepares a hot & full breakfast to order each morning from 7 - 10. We are looking forward to our next visit. The rooftop was nice too...and the availability of computer access + free wifi....all big plus's.
Need more tables & chairs for all to sit to enjoy breakfast. Many guests linger and there were not enough places to sit. I think Pete needed an extra hand with preparing breakfast....at least from 8 - 10 when it is consistantly busy during season. An extra hand may help the line go a little quicker. Suggestion: Give numbers to guests for their turn to come up and place their order. All guest stand in a line, afraid of losing their turn...and they line blocks access to many of the food stations. It would be more comfortable for guests and less pressure on Pete. Even some light music might help pass the time. I thought about letting us write down our orders....but then we would not know how long till our food is ready....to know when when we should prepare our toast, etc.
Great location on the beach. Easy, short drive to the historic Old Town.
Very tight parking.
Love the location- right on the beach. Very nice staff and very clean facility.
Pool is small and no frills.
Location and breakfast are excellent! Newly updated, nice decor, liked refrigerator & microwave, coffee maker in rooms; also liked towels, chairs, and umbrella for the beach provided free
Tight quarters, needs another make up/mirror area besides the bathroom, bathroom only had a shower, no tub
Hot breakfast every morning was wonderful. The staff are all very friendly & helpful. The pool was very refreshing after a long day @ the beach. Location of the hotel is fantastic! Walking through downtown Fernandina was very nice. This is not your typical beach town. It's very quiet & laid back & not crowded This was my 3rd stay @ Seaside Amelia Inn & I've already booked for the 4th in September. I loved that the restaurant 'Sandy Bottoms' is less than 100 yards away. Great place for lunch, dinner or just drinks.
Some may say the rooms are small, but who spends much time i n their room, anyway? The 3 different floor plans are all great, especially for the value. There is nothing that I didn't like about Seaside Amelia Inn.
On the ocean. Wonderful breakfast every AM. Free beach chairs, umbrella and towels. Like home away from home. You could ride a bike to fort clinch.
Stay was to short!
It seems there is mid-communication between booking. Com and the hotel. Booking will tell you you have to get a receipt from the hotel and the hotel says to get it from booking. Booking also gives prices without taxes which is not the final total costs- so if you need a receipt for am expense report be prepared for a hassle
Great location next to the beach
The location is great. Loved the view of the ocean from my room. Loved having 2 tv's in the room. Clean hotel. The breakfast was very good.
We had an ice bucket but I never found an ice machine.
