The Grove West Seattle Inn  

A very good basic hotel room. No frills but very clean, exactly what we were looking for.

Nothing. Don't expect too much, a clean bed, room, and shower.

The only motel in West Seattle, where I was visiting family and friends. More convenient therefore than staying in Seattle. Convenience is the key word.

I used earplugs to sleep and recommend them. Kept shades pulled to prevent passers-by from viewing the interior of my room, so the room was always dark.

Nice breakfast, convinient for city centre of Seatle.

We were attending a track meet at the West Seattle Stadium and this hotel was right across the street! Very convenient. Unlike nearly every downtown Seattle hotel, the parking was free and the room was a very nice surprise, clean, with modern decor. Excellent stay!

The noise. Garbage bins being moved around at night.

Bathroom way too small and no water pressure. No dresser for clothes. Only one bedside table?!

The room was so very noisy that after 10 pm and around 3am there was no sleeping. The free wi-fi does not exist. I had to go into the lobby and stand at the counter to use my laptop. No privacy there! No directions on how to operate the tv and the free breakfast was not worth the bother. Hampton Court has that beat, hands down.

The place was way to noisy. To many guest or there guest outside until the morning making noise. It was a very hard place to get a good night sleep. I've done a lot of road traveling around the country and this was one of the nosiest motels I've ever stayed at.

Location is great if you have business downtown, but want to stay in a more laid-back location. Downtown is just a 15 minutes away (as is the airport), West Seattle has it all -- dining, shopping, hiking, beach/people watching. All with a hip-but-not-too-hip vibe. Service was excellent, and facilities were great for the money. Utilitarian, but warm and friendly.

Truck noise is a bit loud, and I wished the room had a white noise machine.

No real complaints, but would suggest a few nit-picky details like a mirror in the room (outside the bathroom), a clothes hook on the bathroom door, and a second bedside lamp.

Convenience - as there are no other motels/hotels [!] in West Seattle

It was conviently located out of the city center and in the West Seattle neighborhood I was visiting. Close to everything, shops, markets, restaurants and especially family.

Location, location, location.... Great breakfast, friendly staff, and new facelift.

There needs to be a light and a bedside table on both sides of the bed.

Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable . Check in was quick and guest service was polite and helpful. Cab was called for us without even being asked...

Location was a bit noisy with traffic. Could use more signage for Libby area and hotel..

We thought we had booked a room in downtown Seattle, but a week later realized we had received no confirmation. At that point we started looking for someplace to stay, only to find that all of Seattle (from posh to divey) was completely booked. We ended up at The Grove because West Seattle seemed closer to downtown Seattle with fewer traffic obstacles than Bellvue. Indeed, it was a very quick commute. Loved that we paid half the price of downtown Seattle for a clean room in a safe neighborhood. The staff was super helpful & friendly. The breakfast was nice: quality yogurts, fresh blueberries, bagels, and an array of cereals diligently restocked. Glad to have the internet.

The bed was very firm. Some people prefer that, but I prefer a softer mattress. I would have preferred two queen beds to two doubles given the tall folks in our family.

Good location in west Seattle with fairly quick access to interstate 5, free parking close to room.

Room very spartan, only one easy chair and one lamp... not enough light. Had to request additional pillows. Wifi didn't work.

I liked the willingness of the staff to help me get a room after I found out that Booking.com never booked the room for me. I had my reservation number and all the proper I.D. That booking.com said I would need but the hotel had no record of the reservation. I'm thankful the hotel still had a room available as it became full after I arrived. I was there to visit my newborn grand daughter who lives one mile from the hotel and would have been really inconvienced if they didn't have a room for me and my handicap wife.
