Score from 1360 reviews Very good
- very friendly/accommodating staff - plenty of towels - fairly sound proof rooms (we were on 1st floor) - not wow super toilets, but still great - breakfast was surprisingly good--waffle irons were nice and there was plenty of space to eat and lounge
- "old" and stale smell in hallways (rooms were ok) - weird lightbulbs - electrical outlets were old and loose
Allow early check in
Loud noises all night, paper thin walls, funky smell
proximity to our son's home
Everything looks old and very used.
Proximity to shopping and university.
Managerial staff very unfriendly, officious and unprofessional. Carpets were filthy, our non-smoking smelled very bad until we aired it out...
If you only need a motel to spend the night in, as there is a lot going on in Seattle to visit and enjoy, then the University Place Travelodge is the place for you. Conveniently located, safe, economically priced.
The hallway carpeting needs to be replaced or cleaned. I've noticed this on the four times I've stayed there, which makes the motel appear dirty, when actually the rooms are clean.
Location, large room with comfortable bed, easy access to the room.
Water in the shower - continuously changing the temperature from cold to very hot and back to cold (without making any adjustments); house keeping - so so; some days it was difficult to get a parking space.
The staff was friendly the rooms are spacious
Our room was by the entrance door so we could hear alot of noises from people coming in and out
The bed. And a light almost suitable for reading in bed.
Very difficult to locate.i came off the Freeway and thought I was following directions. Forty five minutes of circling ! I got the attention of a lady walking on 19th st...or off of it...and she gave me correct directions. Even with that, is was a maze. Also, the room was too cold. The heater was noisy. I did not understand how to adjust it.
I had a wonderful time although I do think you should provide better toiletries and update things such as the bedding TV etc.
The staff was very helpful and friendly. The property is outdated but clean and the location was a little difficult to find the first time.
Old, single pane window let in the cold and every sound from the street. The ac/heat pump looked like it was ready to fall out of the wall, super thin walls, dated furniture and none of the towels in the matched.
The location and cost of our room were the number one reason for our choice of this motel. Desk clerk was friendly.
The hallway carpets should be cleaned or replaced - just a suggestion.
I feel that office staff were very greatful, and helpful; except for the lost of electricity, your hotel across from University Plaza is an excellent choice.
The air conditioning/ heater needs some adjustment. the cold air zip through the edges and it gets too cold during the morning hours.
The location worked for my business trip.
I picked up a key, but did not look at the room. Later that night, I opened the door and found both beds standing on their edges. Obviously, someone had cleaned the rug and room. But it was not ready. Nor was the second room..I had the staff go up the stairs to check on the third room. The third room was ready to occupy. The TV screen was quite dark. The faucet at the sink leaked badly when turned on. Parking is very tight. To top it all off, there was a power outage in the city. I learned that the room keys work because they are on a battery. The outside building locks are electric. When I went to the vehicle for flashlights, I had to ask at the desk for the outside door to be opened. Probably, a good security measure. The place needs upgrading and repair. The staff was pleasant considering what they had to work with.
Such a great location.
There was not much that was positive here. If you want a great location, this is it. The rest of the experience was average. You are paying more for a very average room because of where it's located. Convenience does cost more...
Bed was comfortable. Wifi worked.
The room smelled musty. The daytime staff (woman) was miserable. The fruit at breakfast was old and inedible. Did I mention the grumpy female staff at the desk?
It would be better if they have a half-day rate cuz sometimes people have their flights in the late evening. It's unfair that I have to pay a full day rate when I just wanna stay couple of more hours until 8 pm.
The location is very good. Generally, the staff are courteous and attentive, but some don't always follow through with their commitments to take some action. We didn't eat the breakfast, so can't comment. The bed was comfortable, the heat worked, the wi-fi worked, and usually the surroundings are fairly quiet.
The amenities tend to be minimal. The important things -- bed, wi-fi, heat, location -- were good. The light tended to be standard motel light -- inadequate, although the bathroom was good. The bed is comfortable, but it's not set up to accomplish any work very comfortably (lighting, chair and desk not up to the task). We've stayed there several times in the past couple of years, and although it's usually quiet, it can be otherwise. It's not a destination hotel. We will probably stay there again because it's a good location,
The front House staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the local surroundings. The breakfast bar was very clean well set up and fully stocked.
though the overall cleaning crew does a great job it's obvious that some of the details work is overlooked. The location is very desirable but the facilities and the building is beginning to show its age.
Location was perfect for me. Standard fare for continental breakfast. Free parking.
Overall cleanliness of the facility was a horrendous. Carpets were filthy in hallways and only slightly better in room. The wall in room were touched up with paint 3-4 shades mismatched. TV was old school CRT with a remote missing the back cover exposing the batteries. The rubber shower mat had mildew stains and the caulking around sink and tub was pealing away.
I didn't like the used condom next to the bed! Corn dog sticks behind the couch! Mold in the coffee pot!! Mold and mildew in the bathroom!! The maids took seething we forgot in the room and didn't turn it in!!! The manager did nothing to accommodate us at all!!!!!
The facility is somewhat dated, but quite comfortable and a good value. The office staff are friendly and helpful. The upscale shopping and dining area across the street is a big plus, with excellent restaurants in walking distance.
There was a musty smell to the hall carpets near the high traffic areas of breakfast and laundry rooms. The bathroom faucet initially had to be run for 30 seconds or more before the cloudy yellow water ran clear.
Hot water outage occasionally while in the shower.
Clean comfortable breakfast Two minutes to the dorm my sister was moving into. The closest hotel to this side of the campus
Carpets outside rooms were a little dirty windows needed new screens and bathtub needs refinished
close to the bus stops and shopping
the prices in Seattle are high
Kent the young desk clerk was friendly and helpful. Location. Decent included motel breakfast
Filthy everywhere you step. Halls and rooms and bathroom smelled like urine. Beat up furniture. Cramped parking an accident waiting to happen. Obvious lack of caring and ownership negligence. Female morning desk clerk evidently doesn't like her job. Price of $100+ 15.3% taxes per night way inflated for condition of this property. If I'd paid $45 per night I'd expect this. Not up to Wyndham standards at all.
