Close location to the boardwalk and wharf.
Staff were a little abrupt.
Location, old fashioned and not a chain
Street lights and could not keep sliding door open for breeze because of street noise so room either got stuffy or the A/C was running and noisy.
Odd odor in room that smelled like bleach and something else that permeated the room.
Location is ideal for easy access to pier, boardwalk, beach and downtown, but just out of the crowded zone. Good continental breakfast with plenty of fruit, cereal and dairy options. Nice view from top of the hill towards beach and bay.
We stayed in a room at ground level. Some nights our sleep was disturbed by guests staying in a second floor room right above us, which apparently has thin plywood flooring that would make our ceiling squeak with every guest's step between bed and bathroom. Shower drain smells bad. Very limited sitting in the tiny breakfast room. Limited parking space, but easy access to big parking lot right next entrance to the south. It's free if you cross the street and validate the parking ticket at Dream Inn's front desk.
The price and location and service were all excellent! I the only reason I marked good instead of excellent for cleanliness was that I found a sippy cup and 3 pills under one of the beds. They were not ours. Other than that the room was really clean.
Floor Under bed was not cleaned
location is fantastic staff are very friendly and helpful
room didn't have a safe (although we used the main office one)
Poor parking No elevator pricey
Location is awesome! Good breakfast Sliding glass doors were an cute bonus Cute beach décor and my son loved the big sink bowl in the bathroom
Front desk at check in a little rude, I had guests in the car who were not staying in the hotel with me but she rudely stated how she could see all the people in my car but I only noted that 2 were staying in the room.. Uncalled for...
Great location for walking to the wharf and boardwalk. Second floor rooms the best for a view. GOOD breakfast!
Helpful staff V Good breakfast
Everything was extremely clean!
They have the ice behind a locked door in the office.
Walking distance to boardwalk and beach. Huge shower with multiple, massaging shower heads. Continental breakfast was a hit for my family.
Short on seating, table space. Not convenient for eating in the room. Good reason to plan meals outdoors. Parking is limited. We had to park in the neighboring parking since all spaces were taken.
Clean, Great location close to everything and the breakfast was perfect.
Across from the Boardwalk, walking to beach n restaurants... Great location Comfortable n nice staff loved waffles!
Teens complained wifi too slow....lol!
An extremely convenient location, yet slightly removed from all the congestion of the boardwalk. Our room had a nice double shower with two real shower heads and real water pressure, excellent! They also have a friendly staff and good views.
The proximity to the beach and boardwalk was great! Every room has a view of the Santa Cruz bay and boardwalk, very nice! The complimentary breakfast is awesome: waffles, cereal, and plenty of other choices. This property is definitely a cut above others in this price range. This isn't the Ritz Carlton, but it's a great choice if you're looking to chill out close to the beach.
Parking is very limited on property, they have "overflow" parking but it belongs to a neighboring property and they have to validate your parking ticket. It's located on a very busy intersection so entering /exiting the property can be challenging.
I liked the staff member that was there the second day we were there. She was extremely nice and polite. We felt very welcomed with her.
I did not like the lady that was there when I first checked in. She was very rude. Any time I went into the office for something (coffee) she made me feel like I was being a burden. She was very rude.
Super friendly staff, pet friendly, cool sliders instead of unwelcoming doors, our dog could look out and wait for us. :) We parked in the "overflow" parking lot which allowed for 420 freedom without disturbing anyone else. Excellent stay, would not stay anywhere else in SC!!
Wi - Fi was slow. I didn't care but our teenage son was quite bothered. Lol. What's new?
Great location, very helpful & friendly staff. Good breakfast.
What you are paying for here is location. Room furniture & decor could do with being updated.
Staff was super friendly, and it was nice being so close to the beach
Late check in time sucks for early arrivals such as my own
Just minutes walk to most important Santa Cruz attractions, very friendly staff. Were lucky to get a parking spot just in front of the room.
Breakfast choice limited, the only savory food available were extremely hard boiled cold eggs. Might be ok some, but gourmets beware.
Great location, easy walk down to the Wharf and Boardwalk, and a short drive to see the surfers. We only stayed a couple of nights. Daytime staff on Reception were excellent. Hayley and Stephanie deserve special mention. Nothing was too much trouble. Very good value for money particularly when compared with what we had to pay along the coast in Monterey!
very nice staff, breakfast was excellant
Great location right by the wharf and West Cliff and downtown (although that meant the traffic can be crazy on weekends). They allowed us to have our dog in the room for just $35 for 5 days. The continental breakfast included waffles, bagels, apples and bananas, yogurt, orange juice and coffee, which was pretty nice. There was a nice chair and foot rest just outside the door, and some locations provide a great view of the wharf and beaches of Santa Cruz.
It took us a long time (with staff help) to figure out how the TV worked and even then it didn't work well. There was very little space in the room. The room included a small mini-fridge, but no plates, glasses, silverware (although plastic versions of all of these are available 24-7 in the breakfast lounge).
