When booking.com told me 11 days before going 2 weeks to manhattan that in fact they over-booked the expensive hotel I booked for me and my familty, I was happy that "Serene Homes E25" was still available. I didn't expect much, and we got a little less than that. Placement is excellent, too.
Smell, noise, cockroaches. And lack of windows in the kitchen and living room. It is also smaller than advertised size.
only the location
lack of response by owners, contacted them regarding extremely slow wifi (only worked on weekends and around mid-night, even then very slow) and non-existent TV, got no answer. there was a mouse in the apartment. aircon very noisy and does not cool the bedroom. definitely not worth the money charged. unfortunately, I had already paid up front and could not get out of the agreement. otherwise I would have moved to a decent hotel with service for the same price!
It seemed like a scam I ended up paying for nothing

There was no staff ever even for a second, had to clean on my own, throw out garbage myself, no garbage bags. No communication with owners, they responded once to the text message saying the TV on demand does not work for reasons unknown. We were lost , plus overcharged us. The amount displayed was 1650 dollars and we were charged 2000 dollars and there was no bill given to us, no one came to check us out and we waited, finally just left the keys on the table. Most bewildering experience I have ever had.
Great location, A good base to see the city from, 10 minuet walk from the flat-iron building, 15min from union square, 30 mins from china town and little Italy. 30mins to time square. The building is quite and clean. The apartment was small but had everything we needed for our time in New York.
