Serrano San Francisco, a Kimpton Hotel    

Location and friendliness of staff. Stayed there a few weeks earlier and was very happy to return.

Good hotel, a little "tired" but very comfortable.

The old world feeling was very comforting. The staff made you feel as if you were their own guest.

Well....the bathrooms are very small, but it's understandable for the era of the hotel. The seating was space during happy hour. Still.....these issues are very easy to overcome.

Nice room, liked the wine in the afternoons. Lobby is great.

Location is poor. Tenderloin is a block away and that is a funky area. On check in the staff person wasn't very nice.

We are allowed early check-in that was much appreciated. Thanks!

We like the feel of the hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Amenities were nice as well.

I loved the room and the view. The room was very nice and the hotel was very well kept.

The location was a little scary at night but thats not the hotel's fault. Thats San Francisco.

Friendly staff and proximity to Union Square.

Small rooms.

Comfortable bed. Lots of hangars in closet. Clean. Quiet, even though room was over street in front of hotel. Very helpful staff. Affiliated restaurant was good for breakfast.

Could have used a second chair rather than a hassock. Hotel at edge of unsavory neighborhood (not dangerous, but a lot of bums around).

Loved the coffee and tea facilities in the lobby on a morning - was a really nice touch. Also the lobby area was very relaxing. Staff very helpful and friendly. Rooms clean and with all the comodities you would expect.

Could have done with more internet facilities - a computer downstairs for visitor use would have been ideal. Also complimentary internet in the rooms instead of $11 per day.

The service was great, rooms were clean and comfortable, being from the uk I would say the size of the room was good, but in comparison to other places we stayed in the us they were quite small especially the bathroom. But you must remember you are in a city where space is at a premium. This is a great place for the price we paid, really convenient location for rental cars (on the corner of the next block) and Union Square.

The hotel is right on the edge of the Tenderloin district we had no problems as a young couple but the amount of homeless people right outside the door may be considered intimidating especially for single females. In fairness homelessness is a massive problem in San Francisco and you will probably encounter it wherever you stay.

Good location. Friendly service and a social wine event between 5 and 6pm.

View from my window was a wall 3 mtrs away, but I guess in San Francisco buildings are close together.

Meals in hotel-bar aren't a good value.

Concierge was phenomenal. Great customer service Coffee was yummy AND they had stevia packets. The bed was very comfortable. The gastropub was a great place to unwind and get a good meal at a decent price for San Fran.

Parking was EXPENSIVE - but it is in all of San Fran. Neighborhood can be a bit sketchy, but I was fine walking by myself.

We enjoyed everything about the Serrano from its very friendly staff, to its well presented rooms and public areas, also the location and the complimentary morning tea and coffee.

Friendly and professional stuff. clean comfortable and well equipped room. Could not ask for more. Will definitely come back again.

Poor maid service--if they show up...

The location was great near the Union Square. I attended an exhibition at Moscone, and it was in walking distance (15mins). Hotel was nice and the restaurant downstairs cool.

Staff was excellent, especially day bellman and day doorman. Price was reasonable. Bed was comfortable. Good coffee service. Nice wine reception.

Room was smallish, but we knew that. Bathroom was tiny, smaller than we thought. Shower/tub was difficult to stand in based on size. Room rate was slightly higher on last night with no reasonable explanation given.

Staff & stuff. Got the upgraded room as we were travelling with a little kid. Nice & friendly people. Good shopping location.

Parking prices in the area are outrageous! Ended up paying this same amount of money for parking as it was for renting a Jeep.

Reminded me of a European hotel....loved it....especially looked like pictures on Internet...will come again...

Historic building beautifully restored. Location. Staff very friendly and accommodating (Requested early check-in if at all possible and that was noted and executed... We so appreciated after flying red-eye!!!). Lovely coffee service in the morning which was very nice on our departure morning (early!!!). big tHANKS and aloha to all!

Daily charge for internet went to the local starbucks for intenet access and coffee

Bellmen were nice; restaurant was pretty good; location was good.

Testy front desk staff (irritated that they had to look up my loyalty account number); stingy on towels (asked and never received an extra one); room service never answered the phone; cleanliness in question -- nasty red smears below sink stayed there for both days of our trip. They were obvious enough that I question the cleanliness of the staff. This is not as good as I've come to expect from Kimpton properties; not by a long shot.

First time at this hotel and I love it.

I stayed at the Serrano with my sister and we both loved everything about the hotel and our stay. It would be hard to improve upon the current facitlities and service. Well done Serrano Hotel.
