Good location, good price, free wifi, free coffee, staff are excellent
Double bed a bit small, our room with ensuite situated next to communal shower-noisy in mornings when in use, a/c not very effective
Localisation near grand central station Coffee / Tea available Any Time
Very noisy Small window : room very dark (1st floor) Very expensive for the global quality
Modern style Friendly staff Spacious room Free WiFi Walking distance to trains and local attractions
Great Location Very clean room Spacious for New York Hotels in this price range
Nice staff, great location, free luggage storage, lounge, food delivery at all hours
Very compact room. Very.
clean, nice room, great location, wifi OK
first time I rent a room with shared bathroom. It is of course less practical than having a Bathroom in the room, but the shared bathroom was clean, and always at least one available on the floor
Large rooms for pric
Elevator was slow and tiny
Very friendly & helpful staff. Good location near Grand Central. Smallish, but well designed room. Great bed & pillows. One blck from inexpensive airport shuttle.
Not many restaurants in area, but a few classic diners & delis. One nice seafood restaurant.
ideal location with top quality help from the excellent staff.
the view from the room
Most staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I can't say enough good things about them but suggest management treat them well. Close to public transit, Grand Central Market. Reasonable walking distance to many attractions. Reasonably clean, although we always take alcohol wipes for doorknobs, light switches, sink and taps etc. After watching an investigative report on the cleanliness of hotels (see Marketplace, a Canadian television show), we don't trust the cleaning staff of most hotels. Comfortable beds, great wifi reception.
Two gentlemen behind the desk the morning my partner and I left - 6:15 a.m. October 7th, 2014 were shockingly unfriendly. Neither gentleman said 'Hello,' 'Good morning' or even asked if we enjoyed our stay. Neither smiled, not even once. Their manner of speech can only be described as monosyllabic. The more physically handsome gentleman of the two faced the window with his nose pointed up, literally, almost the entire time we were settling our bill and asking about taxi availability along 40th Street. Admittedly, he had a gorgeous profile but, goodness, his snooty/insecure attitude was hardly conducive to effective communication with hotel guests. Were it not for these two, my staff rating would have been 'excellent.' It's for that reason that I cannot, in good conscience, recommend the Seaton Hotel to other travelers. My partner says he would return but, ha, guess who's going to win that argument. Only the hotel management has the possibility of changing my mind.
The Location is one of the best! Very clean, the stuff is very nice and helpful.
The room is very small. The bad is short and uncomfortable.
Location - close to grand central, next to cafes, restaurants, etc. Staff - very friendly and considerate. (ex. quickly delivered to my room the iron+iron board, heater, etc.)
Wireless - free but did not work well in the room Comfort - the room was quite cold. The AC split unit and the poor windows quality does not insulate from cold nor noise.
The staff was extremely friendly. The room was small, but comfortable - I got exactly what I expected and paid for. Everything was within walking distance and there is an amazing sandwich shop just around the corner - I would definitely return to this hotel. Some people may have an issue with sharing a bathroom with the floor, but if that's what you pay for - that's what you get. I had no issues at all using the facilities when I needed to and the shower was always warm.
Ability to walk to many of NYC sights and shops.
Hotel location is great.Walking distance to Times Square, Empire State bldg, Top of the Rock....
Air conditioning very noisy
central and very good hotel
a little bit noisy, but that is normal in NY
Tea and coffee Location Comfortable bed Professional staff
No fridge in room
I like easily access to wifi. There eas also internet access downstairs. I like my Bed and my room very clean.
There was no problem at all. Everything was all fine. Love my room .
Checkin event very smooth and the staff were very helpful. The room was very clean and the bathroom had been renovated and was very nice. I would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends if they want to stay midtown.
Air conditioning made us ill Because it was filthy and louder than you could believe . Room was never Serviced. 4 light bulbs out. Never enough towels or soap. The front desk seemed to be annoyed. Coffee machine looked liked It had never been cleaned and tasted worse. The rooms were over 300.00 a night. They finally changed out the ac on the night before check out while still insisting the other was fine. I asked for a morning paper While I was waiting for a friend, the morning front desk clerk just said we don't Have any. Then there was the weird key thing. One key Per room that has to be left At the front desk, when you Leave.? No safe in room. My friend came in after I did And they told her to wake me up. Finally after she said no way, they gave her a service key that opens up Every room. This hotel staff Has no training and no on site supervision. They are used to a tourist clientele . No one could even tell us The nearest market or answer the most elementary Of questions. After I talked to The management company, The staff glared at us making Us very uncomfortable . This Is what I was paying for!!
Me and the misses stayed for 5 nights. Its was the cheapest of the decent ones. My misses was annoyed that it wasnt ensuite until she got there and then she was happy. Its one of the better hotels ive stayed in . Wifi is pritty good. I was on the 5th floor as well. Staffs attitude was perfect. Very very clean place.
Not ensuite. Not good for wheelchair access i suppose. Beds are a little soft if i wanna be picky.
Nice hotel very close to Grand Central which is convenient. This it's a good value for money deal. Everything was clean and modern.
It's a budget hotel which means the bathroom is shared (one per floor).
All staff (especially Emanuel, who was very entertaining!) were very friendly and helpful. The economy rooms we stayed in were clean and comfortable and we were particularly impressed with the public areas & free beverages.
Nothing! It was great value, very close to all the main attractions yet sufficiently away to be quiet for sleeping purposes!
Staffs are very nice and friendly. Location is great. Coffee machine at first floor is great.
Room slightly too small. Mattress too soft. It will be great if there's a fridge in the room.
