I loved the bay window with the window seat. I didn't like the sink out in the main room. There was no privacy for washing up.

I was pleasantly surprised by how clean the room was in general, and the bathroom particularly. I have stayed in similarly priced hotels that I would not shower in. If budget is a factor, this place is for you. Comfy beds, too! Was a little concerned when I arrived at the office. It didn't look promising. However, the room was clean and even had makings for fresh coffee. I realized the next morning that they are having work done on the office building.

It is a good motel, but costly (as most of Alaska's Inns and Hotels). Nice room with refrigerator and TV, close to the harbor where the fjords tours start. Good size room, clean and nice continental breakfast.

The rooms were clean. Beds were comfortable. Good views from the room. Helpful staff. Could not connect to wireless from the room (201). Had to go to office, connect, then sporadically it would connect from the room (about 1/3 of the tries). We need to be connected to keep up with work etc. Your provider of wireless should be able to make it work everywhere in your small location. You're not getting your money's worth from the wireless provider!

The room was clean and there was a nice view. The room was not too small and everything worked. They were nice enough to store our luggage for us for a few hours, since our plane was leaving much later at night.

They were very accommodating as we had late arrival and very early check out due to sport fishing. The staff made all provisions should we have arrived after the office closed and packed our breakfast to go with a wonderful variety of food to start our day. Above all, the room has all that a person would need if coming to explore the area for days or weeks and certainly more than we required. The room was clean ample parking near the room and the beds were very comfortable. The view was also beautiful. I am sure I will revisit this hotel again next time I go to Seward. Can't think of a thing.

Booked on-line and was a little surprised by the accommodations as somewhat dated....but clean and friendly staff were a positive. The views were excellent. My next door neighbours sat out on their balcony till midnight talking very loudly. Our bed was adjacent to the balcony and their entire conversation could be heard as walls were paper thin. I asked them to quiet down as we had a charter at 06:00AM and they became quite abusive and defensive......rather than get into an altercation I called the manager who managed to get them to quiet down somewhat......but all in all for the money we were paying.....would not stay again.....

Prices on things are quite high in Seward. We selected Murphy's because of availability. The room would have been $80 in the lower 48. It was nice, the beds were ok, there was hot water, and it was clean. It was a convenient location.

We booked Murphy's Inn because of location but also availability (I was in town for the Mt. Marathon race over 4th of July and most places were already booked). It is perfectly situated between downtown Seward and the harbor - not too far from either. There's a wonderful view of Mt. Marathon behind the Inn and Resurrection Bay in front of it. It is warm and clean. It's not the Ritz, but it is great for the price. Driving up, we thought "Oh great, this is a slum." However, it's just the paint peeling on the chimney with the old letters spelling "MOTEL." Upon closer inspection, there is updated paint and the place is well-maintained. Maxwell House for the coffee pot. Maybe they can upgrade to Starbucks instead.

Close to the area we needed to get on the cruise boat. Liked the simplicity of the Inn and friendly atmospher. Someone trying to get into our room. I believe it was people from another country not sure which room they had and when they did find their room they were so noisey which kept us awake for awhile! That was the only thing I can complain about the stay.

A comfortable motel with large rooms, refrigerator, microwave, in-room coffee, good beds and nice towels. Free wi-fi. There's a small table with two chairs, plus two chairs on the balcony (if you have one) that you can bring in for games/meals. Extensive free continental breakfast choices included yogurts and juices, pastries and bagels. Accommodating and helpful staff held our luggage before check-in and recommended good places to eat. Handy location mid-way between the cruise terminal (under one mile) and Alaskan Sea Life Center (one mile) at end of town, near a stop of the free town school bus shuttle. Far from elegant, it still has great comfort and character (plus lovely views from the rooms with the small 2nd-floor balconies) and we'd recommend it highly. The balcony is very small - only fit two chairs plus one person standing.
