The Windsong is the best Seward has to offer in hotels. Keep in mind that this is Alaska, choices are limited, and luxury is not the end goal of a trip to Seward. The room are clean, staff is wonderful, and the restaurant was quite good! The surrounding area with wildlife cruises and serious hiking opportunities were spectacular. Lost Lake trail from the Primrose trail head up over the mountain and back into Seward via the Lost Lake trail head was unbelievable. Gorgeous. And the beds back at the Windsong were COMFORTABLE> Price too high for amenities. Room was dark. (No front window-- small window in back. I'll upgrade to a room with a separate deck next year for our visit.

Nice quiet location but only very short drive to town and Exit Glacier, amazing view with the river immediately outside the resort entrance. The room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. The staff were very efficient and friendly. The food at Resurrection Roadhouse was excellent and can be charged to your room, very convenient. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it. Had to lug our bags upstairs to the room which is a bit difficult if you have any disability or injury but it would not deter us from staying there again :)

The location and area are beautiful. (No salmon run this year, but that is beyond your control). Enjoyed the river and the gorgeous forest and bush. I would book again depending on the salmon and season. Could have used a small microwave oven to heat breakfast and snacks and a refrigerator for beverages.

Appearance, it was a very pretty location. If you didn't have a rental car, which we didn't, it was very hard to get around. The shuttle service was not convenient, we had to wait a lot and it did not offer rides to exit glacier unless you purchased a tour. Traveling around the small town cost a lot of money or a lot of time waiting around.

Beautiful facility and location. The rooms were nicely furnished and decorated, and they were ample in size. I liked the separate buildings and the grounds. The view of the mountains in front was also very nice, and the lodge was a great place to congregate. The staff chose to clean (and close) the lodge restrooms at the peak use time in the morning (8:45am) when there were over a hundred people in the building eating, waiting for the bus, and starting their day. Not very customer friendly thinking on that point, but that was the only exception.

Poor sound proofing of the walls and floor above. Very noisy when people above partied until 4:00 in the morning. Not much fun walking in the rain to get to the lobby and restaurant.

Location, overall quite. Mother had stayed here before during her last visit to Alaska and enjoyed her stay. Gunshots during the night by the campers across the street. Not a huge deal though. Would have liked having an iron in my room.

The shampoo and conditioner were great. Also, the artwork on the walls was really good. Price was way too high; room was average (thought I was booking a much nicer room); bed was uncomfortable; the noise from people in the room above kept us awake most of the night; no dirty clothes bag; hardly any hangers for clothes; parking space was inadequate; and we weren't allowed to check in until the tour bus time of 3 pm (we were NOT with a tour bus!)

The wilderness feel of the location. Room was very clean and nice log cabin feel. The beds were terrible.. It was like sleeping on a board. It was so bad we had our second night canceled because my husband's back was hurting so bad he couldn't sleep in it again.

Beautiful location, great food in restaurant, shuttle to/from downtown Poor communication with pickup from cruise terminal. I was first told there was a shuttle prior to trip then was told by hotel staff at time of pickup that I had to take the shuttle to the Kenei Fjords tour office then take a shuttle to the hotel! Weird. Expensive hotel room, but the location was worth it. Sometimes younger front desk individuals were a little sarcastic.

Friendliness, Service, Food. Convenient to Seward via hotel shuttle, nice town. We were a bit disappointed that we didn't have to chase a bear off of our deck.... otherwise great stay!

Even though there were quite a few rooms there was a feeling of privacy when looking out from the deck. The food at the restaurant was excellent. It would be nice if there was an outdoor fireplace.

The layout was excellent, with just a few units per building, i.e. quiet accommodations. The setting, among the trees, was beautiful. The rooms were SO clean and we appreciated the craftsmanship and use of wood throughout (especially the hardwood floors in the bath!) Linens were clean and new., good temperature control in the unit. Though the mattress was comfortable, the pillows were way too hard!

Ruhige Lage! Sehr große (180 Zimmer) und dadurch etwas anonyme Lodge mit vielen Busreise-Gruppen. Die Zimmer sind durch die vielen Bäume und kleinen Fenster sehr dunkel.
