Two beds jammed in a small room.
It was my first time in Miami and I could not have enjoyed my stay anymore than I did. They have an open bar from 7-8, everything is within walking distance particularly the beach! The staff was super helpful and friendly, I intend on coming back and plan to stay here again
Location was great, room was small but clean and tidy
There was no facility to make a hot drink. Went with a 10month old and could not make him a bottle at any point within the hotel. Told by 1 member of staff to go to a restaurant around the corner at midnight to get some
It is absolutely MORE than perfect for the price. Large rooms clean, friendly staff. Centrally located in Miami beach.
The staff was friendly.
The Television wasn't working properly. There were no glasses available in the room inspite of requesting couple of times.
Very larg suite, modern and clean
No tea coffee facility in room.
location, friendly staff. comfort of bedroom
Hidden charges, musty smell, fixed windows did not allow fresh air in.
I arrived around 9:00 PM. On top of the one night they charged me $16.something and they said it was for using the internet and stuff!! I didn't really get what they meant! Also, they charged me a 100$ security deposit!! and said it will be released in 24 hours!! the next day when I checked out they said 3 to 5 business days! I asked them if its ok to give them cash they refused to take cash as a security deposit!! I am so upset. Also, they serve the worst sushi ever yet they have a big sign on their doorway we have sushi!!
the desk clerk who walked over a block to teh bus with my case. Very helpful.
Location is great and good value for a budget hotel.
Room was to dark and crowded with 2 beds
My stay was during Art Basel week and by the time I made a decision to go there were very few vacancies, and they were all very expensive. Overall, The Shelley was pretty good value, considering the options-- the staff really made the difference, front desk and bell hops, all were very nice and do their best to make your stay comfortable (despite the limitations of the facility). Location was perfect for me-- close to the beach and just a little south of the fray. Though the room was small, it was well appointed enough. Appreciate the availability of fresh water and cups in the lobby.
Hallways are dark and feel dingy, would be nice to brighten up, and they need to change cleaning products to something less toxic (eco friendly citrus based?!)-- they use some harsh chemical for cleaning that caused me to need my windows open to improve the air quality in the room, but still infused all my clothing with the odor. Also, my bed was completely lopsided and lumpy, and all the pillows were square and hard. Construction going on next door meant jack hammers before 8am.
the staff was quite friendly and always helpful, but not always the quickest... location is good, you can reach the beach within 5min and Lincoln Rd 15min walk. Restaurants and bars are all nearby. Happy hour from 7pm - 8pm, all drinks for free, you just tip the waiter as much as you want. In addition, you receive free shots :).
The rooms are very small and there are not many cupboards or shelfs, so you have to keep your stuff in your suitcase. Also no shelfs in the bathroom. therefore, 5 nights we stayed there, are too long. you'd better choose another hotel for a longer stay. also the cleaning could be better (e.g. a soap has fallen to the floor and was there all days not seen by the cleaning person). as the hotel is on Collins Av. do not expect you can sleep for a long time, as it is quite loud. the keycard didn't work every 2nd time we wanted to enter our room, so each time you have to return to reception to activate your card, which is quite annoying. staff is friendly but they didn't seem to be well organised. as we were more people, they mixed up our rooms. we had to wait 40min to be checked in. All in all ok for 1 night, but quite too long for 5 nights if you want to have some more comfort.
The keys of my room didn't work, neither the tv. The wi-fi is terrible. Os noyse and the bed couldan't be worst. I'll have to take the hotel to the court because they are charging my creditcard non stop!!! Be aware!
Nothing but location. I would certainly recommend other near by hotels instead!
Internet was not working properly, unprofessional and rude staff ( except bell man), no parking except a nearby vallet parking (u have to pay), door of room doesn't open properly with cars keys, receptionist told me i can't park across the street or else my car will be towed. Then in my last day of stay i asked a police parking enforcement guy. He told me its free! When i went back to tell her, she said dont listen to him!
The staff were great, very friendly and accomodating. The location was great.
There were cockroaches in the room. For this reason I would not stay again. Spent an hour going through suitcase and clothes before leaving to make sure I did not bring any unwanted critters back home.
It was my 5th time in south beach, and this hotel always popup in my searches before, but I never book it…until now…and I loved it! Just had so much fun! It´s just one block way from Ocean drive, the beach, and in the middle of the action in Collins Av. close to lots of hotel lobby bars (and it’s Happy Hours) and shops. The hotel has a dark sexy deco, and our room (we were upgraded to room 316) was amazing (check the pictures). The bathroom had a shower and a nice hot tub big enough for two. The mini bar was packed, the safe was free and worked perfectly and the bed was big and comfortable. There is an happy hour from 7:00PM to 8:00PM. In this hour drinks are free for hotel guests, but not all drinks…just vodka, gin, run, etc. and it’s mixers. They are served in a plastic glass fill with ice, and you only get your next drink when you finish the other. Don’t expect Grey Goose or Hendrix…but hey…it’s free and you can have has much has you want…very good. The waitresses are very nice to talk to and funny. Another great thing about this hotel it’s the free shuttle to and from the airport. We used it to get to the airport. The stop is a just 2 minutes way from Shelley, in front of the Chelsea Hotel (Washington Avenue). They were punctual and we arrived to the airport in 20 min (it was a Sunday and there was little traffic).
On the downside, don´t expect much of a window view and the Wi-Fi, although free, didn’t had a signal in our room…but in the lobby was strong and very fast.
Don't have WiFi in my room.
Happy Hour and location
No restaurant and no elevator
Close to the beach.
They didn't have an elevator, i had to carry my luggage by the stairs. The room was old, the picture they show in the advertising must be from years ago. I made a reservation for a determined total price, and they charged me way higher (not a tax problem). Air conditioning didn't work.
Location, room was clean and comfortable.
We had trouble checking in, I was charged a random $87 fee that hasn't been resolved and we had problems checking out. These problems were blamed on a new operating system. Would not recommend. Too many other choices in the area to deal with these billing problems.
Small room for four grown women, tV didn't work and no one every came to fix it after two visits to the front desk
Near to the beach
Without GPS dificult to find hotel
-Location in conjuction to beach -Staff was friendly
-Shower was extremely Hot (When hot was turn on it was cold and when cold was turn on it was hot they somehow had installed backwards) -roach discovered in room on last day at hotel -No computers at hotel
Not clean, bugs in the room
The bathroom was not clean; the towels were dirty and there were roaches. My room was on the first floor and it was very noisy due to guest being loud in the hallway. I understand this is South Beach but at 5am the staff shouldn't allow guest to be loud in the hallway
