This was our honeymoon (I reiterated this to the clerk) and the Sheraton sent us to the dingy Holiday Inn with no comps. I would have expected to be sent to a nicer hotel with a discounted price.
The hotel was pretty average itself and nothing to real complain about.
The power went out in the evening of our first night. Everyone had to vacate the hotel and stand outside. The power was out the rest of the night and the whole next day. Miserable experience.
We arrived at the hotel, only to find that the power had been out for two days...no one called to notify us and the staff seemed confused and unhelpful. I understand that this was a difficult situation, but it was poorly dealt with and I will not be staying with the Sheraton again
Nice location of you are wanting to stay at the wharf. Rooms are nice and the holiday decor was nice.
We were evacuated 4 times due to the power being blown by PG&E from the time is 11pm to 1am. When we all reached the alley, most in pajamas there was zero direction. All of the guests were standing around wondering what to do and what was happening, there was not a worker to be found. Imagine if it was a real emergency. This happened on Friday night and by Saturday at 8pm the power still had not been restored, not their fault although I never found out why there were no backup generators. They refunded our entire stay and gave us a discounted rate at another hotel, the rate should have been the same as what I paid at the Sheraton but it was double the nightly Sheraton rate, thank goodness I only had 1 night remaining.
The location was great and the room was clean, modern, with a window and street view
Parking is expensive-$40/day
Small rooms, no free wifi,no fridge, no included breakfast, expensive parking.. Should I go on?
briefing of the clients about technical problems
Very pleasant staff Modern decor
Room was a bit compact no where to have suitcase open
It was convenient to alot of features within the city.
Neighborhood at times was sketchy so you had to be vigilant.
Prime location for catching a tour, shopping and getting on the Tour for Alcatraz! Nice room, fair beds, lovely outside fire pits perfect for early morning coffee or a late night drink.
There was quite a disturbance in the room above us on the first night. Lots of stomping, door slamming and yelling at about 3 am for over an hour. Kept the whole family up and scared my kids a bit. No real sound proofing.
Located us as a family with a 7 year old directly above the laundry delivery entrance which began very noisely at 4.30am. Obviously zero thought for their guests and the quality of their stay. Wouldnt recommend this hotel to anyone and feel robbed at the cost.
The proximate location to Fisherman's Wharf
After check in in lobby, we had to get out of lobby and go to another building where the room is located. We had to carry all the luggage and climb stairs. As a four-star hotel, there is even no fridge (I had bought some yogurt and fruit). Room service confirmed that you have to pay $15 a day for using their fridge. The A/C (heater) is like from dinosaur age. Noisy like hell. The parking is $50 plus 14% tax so it's $57/day. It's my 1st time in Bay Area so I was not familiar with the surroundings. You can actually find $25/day parking at a very near public parking lot.
close to Pier 39
did not provide airport service
Comfortable bed and good location.
Noisey loading dock next to room. Exorbitant prices for parking compared to nearby hotels.
It was a nice motel
It cost 50 to park your car and nothing is included. Usually there is a continual breakfast but there it was 25 per person. Not sure but the area has something to do with the pricing
walking distance to the warf
The neighbors above us made noise all night, didn't get no rest.
Terrible customer service. Also didn't like having to pay $50 a night for parking and having to give $100 deposit which was never mentioned when I booked hotel. We had to find parking on the streets at 2am. We only needed to stay not even a full nights rest and were told we needed to find parking outside the hotel. Parking for your guests should not be so expensive and staff should be nicer or at least given a warning on paying that much for a hours of parking. We had to wake up at 7am leave the hotel and move it from the streets so we wouldn't get a ticket. The whole point of getting the hotel is so we could rest. Breakfast wasn't even complimentary. I will never stay at this hotel again and will never recommend it either. I will be looking for different hotels and will add this review to yelp as well. We still have not gotten the $100 back from our deposit... Thanks.
Everything was great from start to finish
Nothing we had a blast
We booked a room with a crib, but no crib was set up when we arrived. Someone then came to install the crib, but it was simply a bed with a bare mattress. When we called reception to ask for sheets and blanket for the crib, we were bluntly told that small children were not welcome at the hotel and that they were deliberately discouraging families with small children from staying at the hotel by not providing the proper facilities! We ended up removing a sheet from one of the double beds to use in the crib and used our travel blanket. When we asked for a kettle to use to warm our child's milk, we got the same lecture from reception that they don't normally provide this to guests. The rooms have no mini-fridge, so forget about keeping milk or baby food for your child. Aside from the unfriendliness of staff, our room was on the side of the hotel next to the bus depot which was incredibly noisy from dusk to dawn. There is also no free wi-fi at the hotel, something which we've come to expect of all hotels wherever we travel, especially at this price. You also have to pay for parking if you are a guest. Overall, this was the most unpleasant stay we've ever had at a hotel. If you are used to the Sheraton in other countries like Australia, the Sheraton in the US is a completely different standard - it's more like the Holiday Inn! The only positive about this hotel is the location. It's right near Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39 which is great for families, but how ironic that this hotel is incredibly unfriendly towards families. There's nothing wrong with hotels not wanting small children, but they should state so on their website. There's nothing worse than arriving after a 12 hour flight with a jet-lagged toddler to get attitude from hotel staff and find that your child was not welcome in the first place. Had we known, we would have stayed somewhere else.
The staff, especially the Concierge desk. The location. The large, bright, spacious room.
Rooms need a face lift. The air conditioning unit was very loud. We had to call for maintenance upon arrival to reset the safe, and change the small refrigerator in the room.
Best located hotel to see and connect with all transportations. Great walking distance for all types of walkers, short and long distances.
The outside-noise in the room beware to wake up in early mornings. 5:30 am , with garbage trucks, etc etc.
proximity to fishermans wharf and the hop-on-hop-off bus
The hotel was recommended to us by friends, and so glad we took their advice, close to the piers and all on the flat which we needed due to bad backs. excellent value
Jonathan at the front desk was great in guest service.
Room/ bell service was slow. Sent us an older woman to carry our baggage.. ofcourse we are not gonna let her carry our heavy stuff. called front desk/ concierge multiple times and it was busy. asked for extra beddings and took forever, called again and was told the person is on break so we have to wait even longer.
