Score from 450 reviews Good
Location location close to the river walk and every thing downtown
Gold's gym right next door. Downtown, easy to get anywhere.
30 dollars to park your car. Ouch...I'll think twice next time
The queen room was cozy and hotel charming. Easy walk to bars and eateries. Staff was pleasant without being over the top. Enjoyed the stay.
Very close to Riverwalk, Alamo, etc.
Little touristy by the Alamo for such a historical monument.
Being about walk across the street to the Majestic and soooo close to the Riverwalk !!
We liked the hotel, it was nice and clean staff very friendly and we were made feel welcome.
We booked the club lounge as we had a busy day out with our kids. But the club lounge had nothing to offer. The bread was hard, they only had crudités to offer of carrots/ cucumber etc. some fish dip that had been there for a long time! Only Chardonnay wine available in the white selection. No fruit juices for the children. The tables were quite grubby and not cleaned down properly. Over all a complete waste of money and the worst equipped club lounge we have been in.
We haven't actually stayed at the Sheraton for this booking yet, though we've stayed here several times previously and been happy with the rooms and service. This visit, which was supposed to be last weekend, was postponed due to my catching a nasty cold & being very, very sick. Despite having booked a room with a no cancellation and no changes policy, when I called the hotel, the staff was extremely nice and helpful. They changed the date at no cost and re-booked us for a weekend of our choice. Great service that went above and beyond what we expected.
Front desk staff was fast and helpful. Great location.
It is an older hotel. The restaurant onsite Market on Houston is a train wreck. Staff mediocre, signs to see hostess and no hostess on shift very disorganized. Valet is high which isn't surprising but the valet service was rude, slow and unattentive.
I hadn't been back in a long time and everything was so different and nice.
One thing I didn't like was the first clerk who was suppose to greet us--she was NOT friendly!! All the rest were great!
The bed was so bad that it took nearly a week for my back to stop aching. It was so bad that I woke up on the second night at 4:00 am and left to come back home.
Location and foyer appeal
Staff was very attentive to our needs. They listened and provided exactly what we needed. Close to everything. Ease of access to the River Walk. Valet staff was awesome.
Pool not really big enough for a hotel of this size. $28/day for valet parking was extortionate with the car park only a few steps from the lobby and no option to self park
Me and my family had a great stay at Sheraton Gunter Hotel. The entire staff was very nice and polite and very helpful arriving and leaving. I was told exactly what I would be charged and why. It was amazing and the hotel is beautiful. I will be staying here in the future and will be recommending this this hotel to everyone I know.
The one thing I was not pleased with was the pool. The pool water was dirty.
We enjoyed this hotel more than any other that we've stayed at in the city. We come to San Antonio alot. The location was a nice change from the riverwalk and we could walk to alot of areas we wanted to see. The lobby is beautiful and the staff was more than helpful. We enjoyed the cafe.
Pet friendly, didn't even charge! Clean room, pretty quiet even right by the elevator.
The hotel staff were not very friendly. Even at hotels that are not as nice, I have always been greeted at the door and truly welcomed. I was only asked my information and handed a key. It didn't feel like they appreciated my business.
Architecture, decor, and location with respect to River Walk were very strong positives
The hotel was centrally located near the Riverwalk, dining, and shopping. Very convenient.
There was only one employee working the front desk and check in took awhile. I also didn't like the fact you had to pay to park at the hotel each day during your stay!
Location Interior First floor bar
$200+ night, too expensive for what was received Mediocre service Didn't get hotel room basics like towels...staff never delivered. Cramped room Loud AC unit Thin walls Valet parking was $30, public parking overnight right beside was $8 for a day and overnight and part of 2nd day!
The staff was friendly, Quick, and professional. The Lobby was simply amazing in architecture. The room had plenty of space and was set up perfectly
We liked the fact that it still had the stories surrounding the Hotel and the history of the hotel.
Size of Room. Expensive Parking
Bigger pool or just make it more exiting. Maybe, a water fall or give it a jungle theme.
Comfy bed and pillows,
Room was small and had no fridge or microwave. Older small bathroom.
Very nice. Nice cafe/lounge
