Beautiful!! Awesome pool, great water slide! Pretty rooms.
No included breakfast.
room was great
Bad service at poolside bar/restaurant
Sheraton Kona has everything you need for vacation. My kid really enjoyed the swimming pool with a water slide facility.
I loved this place. Was a beautiful resort. Sadly I only stayed there for one night. Wish there had been a beach attached but the view was great it almost made up for that.staff were lovely and helpful pool was very nice, with ocean view. Was a little far from some of the beaches I wanted to go to but we had a car so wasn't too big of an issue. Would definitely recommend this place to a friend :)
Staff was friendly and apologetic for hotel's shortcomings.
Hair (not from head) on bathroom floor when I checked in. Clump of hair in folder unused bath rug. Black out drapery could not close completely so there was a gap where ground floor pedestrians could see inside room at night.
The bar on the water is nice, and with it being out of town, walking along the highway is quiet.
Compared to the Marriott Courtyard in old town Kona, this place was big, a bit run down and noisy. Plus its a major kid zone, so not great for couples. I was on the main floor, so the hallways were noisy with janitor's carts, families going to the pool and people taking shortcuts. I have to say, the $30/day resort charge was unnecessary, you don't get anything extra for that. And paying for wifi in this day and age is not cool either.
Beautiful views, terrific pools and friendly staff.
Self parking is a little far, but it's a nice walk.
older hotel that took the opportunity to increase costs....provided very poor service. Last evening requested drinks and light food...was advised by hostess to site by bar....was not served at all..when advised hostess of the situation...she said nothing and walked away!!
Excellent food and things to do. Lack of beach made up for by awesome pool.
The free Wifi was spotty and didn't always work.
wifi, balcony, friendly staff, 2 free water bottles daily
pillows, bed sheets, room service cold, can't buy good champagne with one call
This is a stunning hotel. We were a bit cautious because it doesn't have a beach, but just a swimming pool. But boy what a pool!. The hotel garden is built-up with natural volcanic elements, and gives you the Hotel was pushed out of the lava for your to enjoy. I have not often enjoyed seeing and watching the sea so much as around this pool. It may not be an infinity pool. But believe me, it is an infinity garden. I'd go back in a heartbeat.
The fact that I stayed just two nights there!
Rays by the bay is a great and rather unique concept. Nice pool as well
Only 1 main restaurant plus 1 pool bar, overall property is extremely dared and in very urgent need of thorough renovation. A bit remote location also
Food for dinner
Rooms are spacious
Breakfast is really american.
Gary the concierge was great, helped us with planning of what to do and where to go and to find deals. Breakfast was good.
30 $ resort fee- is too much. This fee should be lower or optional- only if you use the services you get with it (for example If you use shuttle and don't rent a car like we did).
I had a wonderful experience and a great place to relax. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The service was great, the rooms clean and tidy, the beds comfortable. Gary the concierge was fabulous and found us some great sightseeing deals. The use of the trolley meant that we had no need to hire a car just the occasional use of a taxi. I would definitely return for another vacation.
The place is looking a little tired, paint work and bathrooms. While this really didn't bother me it may others. The cleanliness made up for it.
Location and hotel facilities are excellent. The staff are so friendly and if they can enhance your stay in anyway they always do. We loved having dinner looking out to sea at the Mantaray's in the evening.
There is nothing not to like.
Cleanliness was great and the food was great
Lack of staff help and friendliness
Huge room Really enjoyed the Rays on the Bay restaurant, food was better (and cheaper!) than expected, and staff were good
Too big and 'resort-y' for us. Stayed just one night for the location and it did he job, but wouldn't go back. Decor and building is very very dated, very 60s! Bathroom was very tired and basic, could do with a refit. But should say it was clean and large in size.
Staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful. The view from our room was lovely. This is a family friendly resort with lots of locals enjoying the water features.
Being without a car makes this a poor choice. The shuttle runs at two hour intervals. The recent renovations can't change a 70's venue; it still feels tired. The food looked like it was from a fast-food restaurant. Not Starwood quality.
I liked that room was clean
ran out of towels often even with half occupancy. Cleaning lady often forgot to put new soap. There was no real beach at the resort. Food was not fully covered which allowed flies etc.. Overall wasnt pleased
Very friendly staff and lots of activities near and onsite
Fitness centre Views Bar staff Bell staff
Check in was slow Hidden costs
