The Manhattan at Times Square Hotel  

Friendly staff and clean hotel.

The room was drastically worn down and the bed was not comfortable to sleep in. Also surprised that the hotel charges for internet use and at a very high price.

The location was excellent

The TV channels were fuzzy

The location was great, just a short stroll to times square. The room was clean and functional.

The room was tiny and bed a bit firm for my liking, rooms are a little dated but not grotty.

no internet in room - only in lobby

Just about verything! The location was excellent - a short walk to Times Square, and to the bus-stops for the open-top hop-on-hop-off bus, as well as a major subway station. Rooms were comfortable, with nice firm beds. (I would have preferred firmer pillows too, but should probably have requested those.) A good coffee machine - unfortunately no way of keeping milk or orange juice cool, though, as the ice machine on our floor wasn't working. Bathroom was very adequate (non-detachable shower over bath - I would have preferred a detachable one, for washing hair) and there was plenty of hot water, as well as a range of quality toiletries, Large TV.

We found the hotel rather noisy - thin walls, I guess. One expects (and does not object to) noise from outside, if one chooses a hotel this close to Times Square - buskers in the early hours are part of the New York "vibe" - but our fellow guests were a rowdier bunch than I had expected at such a smart hotel. The bath could also have been better cleaned, we felt. And the ice machines should be checked more regularly.

Check in staff friendly as a returning visitor. Check in took 2 minutes Room was clean tidy and of great size ( as it was a disabled facility - we had the option to choose this - glad we did Swimming pool staff charming...we meet him each time we visit and he remembers us ! The location is just right, nearly on top of times square but far enough away to avoid the bustle.

Not a modern hotel but has all we need. We keep returning which says it all...

The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The service in the restaurant for breakfast was exceptional. The cleaning staff did a great job. Our room was spotless whenever we came back from a day out.

The staff spent more time talking to each other than greeting guests. They were friendly and helpful when approached, but were not outgoing at all. The security guard never checked our room key before we entered the elevator lobby, even though there was a sign that required it.

We paid for the room with breakfast and when we would go down for breakfast . . . everyone would cater to your every desire.

Wallpaper in the bathroom was coming off but the rest of the room was wonderful.

Have stayed at The Manhattan Times Square before and it is a perfect location for visiting Broadway theatres. It has a nice swimming pool to relax in, lovely Christmas music being played at this time of year (even some carol singer in Victorian costume) and the staff are very friendly and efficient.

The lobby was completely beautiful

The rooms were very basic for the price paid and did not have a refrigerator.

The bell man jack at front door was extremely welcoming and provided customer service. It was delight to pass him each time we came and went from the hotel.

No wi-fi in room.

The location is great - close but not too close to Times Sq, within walking distance of Central Park, two blocks from the Museum of Modern Art, and close to several subway lines. We enjoyed the indoor pool, and would have tried the fitness centre if one of us had not been slightly injured. Our room had a balcony overlooking 7th Avenue which was a nice extra in a city centre hotel.

The standard of maintenance of the building was only fair - the lock on our room door was almost coming loose, and the air conditioner was rather noisy and hard to adjust. The breakfast was good quality but pretty expensive at $25 for the buffet, when we could find quite adequate breakfast round the corner for less than $10. We felt it was mean to ask $15 a day, on top of a hefty room rate, for in-room internet access, so had to make trips to the lobby to use the free wi-fi.
