The staff, location, and availability.
We liked Rameez & Delia (front desk, extremely helpful) housekeeping staff, shuttle bus drivers & restaurant staff !! The best part of our stay was leaving....
Hotel entrance carpets are disgustingly dirty. Elevators are dirty. Pool area is old & dirty. No refrigerator, microwave or baby crib in rooms (we did request these) We were constantly bothered by staff about settling our bill from our first night !! Notes put under our door, phone calls to our rooms, morning & evening (disturbing our baby)even after we spoke with staff on front desk, this annoyance continued. No one could tell us our balance, but they had taken $400 from our card (unauthorised, no receipt) We were told we had to pay in total on our first morning although they couldn't tell us our balance !! Apparently none of our cards would swipe for 1 staff member who didn't bother communicating with co workers and was extremely unhelpful. Amazingly, the morning we checked out all our cards would swipe!! My husband spent hours on phone to Bank Of Ireland who assured us the problem was on the hotels side. The bank offered to speak with hotel staff who declined. This ruined our trip to NY, cannot believe how terrible this experience was. Staff need training and a lesson in social skills excluding Delia and Rameez :-) The hotel needs to hire an industrial carpet steamer !!
Poorly trained staff at check in. Very rude
Location and attentive and friendly staff
Seeing flies on the cakes at breakfast!
The bed and the view
That I could not get a printed or emailed receipt from the hotel for my stay.
I stay 5 nights at the hotel and the last day I asked for late checkout to make and would not let me, because my flight was at 8:30pm, I had to leave to the airport and wait 8 hours...
Food was not very good yet very expensive. Traveling in and out was very tough.
Nothing at all.
The property is nasty, old and run down. The carpet is extremely dirty, beds are old and uncomfortable, room didn't have basic toiletries.
- Only 15 Minutes from Manhattan by car - free parking
- old american standard hotel that never has been renovated - we stayed 3 nights and house keeping only came once after calling the frontdesk several times - had to call front desk for fresh towels 3 times - the breakfast we ordered on two of the mornings (even in pereson at the front desk)never arrived at our room - overpriced
Being just across from the Lincoln Tunnel in NJ, location is good.
The bathrooms could have been better.
The city views are fantastic which is why we returned after staying here 5 years ago when it was the Sheraton. Having a Starbucks downstairs is great, the rooms are a great size and the beds are very comfortable.
Everything seemed to be falling apart. The elevators seemed to be on the verge of breaking, paint is chipping all over, lights were out, Velcro holding up signs or just left on the walls with no sign. The hotel would be of more value if these minor issues were addressed. Most of the staff was attentive and pleasant while others left a bad taste in our mouth. Overall, the hotel was in better shape when it was a Sheraton.
Overall a good hotel with excellent reception staff who were extremely helpful and very friendly. Rooms are decent enough and the price very good. Facilities are pretty good too, made good use of the pool and the gym.
The staff at breakfast were not so good, kept us waiting and not attentive at all, we had to ask for most things except the bill of course. The location isn't great but we knew this and it's reflected in the price but with a shuttle service offered as complimentary it's more than made up for. However, the vans are too small and did not meet the demands resulting in stress trying to get on the service which could easily be avoided with larger vehicles.
Some staff members weren't knowledgable when asking for directions
We loved the room, the comfortable beds, the pool and it's great view, and how close the train was to Manhattan. And it was set in the middle of a meadow, so its very pretty and out of the traffic and mess, right off the freeway.
4 Hold on My Credit Card. Holding money that was for my trip. Dirty, Stained Rugs 2 Broken Elevators
The bed was comfortable and the room was clean.
The staff was rude and seemed bothered to have to answer any questions. Other guests were complaining that they experienced elevator trouble and even got stuck in one. The front desk was extremely helpless and made the check in process a nightmare. I would definitely not reccomend this hotel.
For the event scheduled that weekend, I feel they should have been more prepare with transportation from the event. It took two hours to get back to the hotel at the end of the event and we stood on a line the majority of the time.
Hotel, as far as the stay went was average. The more we were in the room, the more grime we noticed.
I would assume especially when there are events at metlife , a majority of the patrons are going to see the show accross the street. With that being said, prepare for it, if I wanted to wait 3/4 hrs to get home, I would've driven to my house . The initial service there was fine, the way home was disgusting
The only thing that I can say that I liked about the hotel is that it is only a short drive to the Metlife stadium
We didn't like the fact that the Starbucks closed at 3pm andthere is nothing anyw within a 45 minute drive to get any food so you are either stuck with getting roon service or going to the restaurant in the hotel which is expensive. The price of the room is too high for what you get and they charge almost double what you're room is plus another $50 charge for other xgargcharges you may have in your stay and you have to pay for the Internet per device that you use in your room so that means that if you have a computer and a phone that's $20 per 24 hours. I have never paid for Internet at a hotel before they usually have free wifi
Parking lot, pool,24 hour gym. Easy check in and check out. Restaurant service for breakfast and lunch.
Loud humming noise coming from the vents and screech like noises after flushing.
Beds and pillows are super comfy. I didn't wanna get out of bed!
I should have gotten a suite if we wanted a microwave, mini fridge or anything like that. Weird, I've been at way lower quality hotels and had a fridge and such there.
Pillows Bed room furniture and set up - modern and new staff were excellent breakfast was delicious
dirty small bathroom (I was told they are being renovated soon) tiles on floor and wall are mouldy/dirty/stained from traffic shower faucet was very low in the wall and made it hard to wash face and hair the fan did not work so the entire bathroom and room were foggy for about half an hour
Close to meadowlands went to giants practice a plush
No real close by shopping
