Absolutely nothing! I loved everything about this place!!! The bed was so comfortable too!
It is a beautiful and clean, classy place to stay in. Location is absolutely wonderful. It's close to everything. Downtown Palo Alto, Stanford University, restaurants, grocery stores, you name it!

Ice machine broken on 4th floor, shower would not drain, pool location not great.
Location to downtown & Stanford

A bit noisy due to the rowdy college kids. The maze layout was a bit annoying at times.
The grounds were beautiful and fit perfectly with the rest of Palo Alto. We loved that the main street was an easy 5 minute walk away.

Wall air/heating unit filter wad dirty. Had to turn off, it triggered allergies.
Nice clean and hog room.

Renovations (which of course were nobody's fault).

This whole stay was a farce from checkin to checkout. We recognized that the pool area is under construction and mentioned it during checkin. Answer: yes. No offer for any kind of compensation. Of course there was no information of reconstruction work at bookingdotcom during the booking. We had booked this place due to the nice looking online pictures of the patio and pool for two holiday days with two kids. We've paid $500/ night and all we got was a small dark room with two double beds. The jackhammer and cuttoff grinding noise over the 2 days was very much disturbing, so outside areas could not be used during sunshine hours! At checkout no one even asked if we liked the stay nor if the can offer some compendation like a rebate. Unbelievable. The breakfast buffet with 2 kids for $90 was than just another disappointment. Wifi was $10 only for a $500 night. Such a deal.

Overnight parking was a bit expensive
The shower was great, as well as the bed linens.

Popcorn ceilings in 2015? Otherwise we had a great stay.
The staff was really great, always tried to take care of us and treat us well. That was important as our child was having surgery at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital and we were stressed.

Beauty, Comfort of place. Reason ably priced.

Not told in advance that pool not available; not told upon check-in that self-parking was $14/night; not give the type of room we asked for; had to pay for wi-fi, parking a hassle
Very nice room, great location, comfy bed

Let's just say I'm pleased the company paid for it.
I loved being able to walk to get coffee, dinner, etc. Great location. Very nice staff.

As a result of my early check in request, we were not given a room with 2 beds and had to get a roll away brought in instead. Wasn't too crazy about the $14 per night for parking either.
I called the morning of check in and asked if I could check in early to be able to dress there before the event we were attending. The front desk attendant that answered the phone was very pleasant and helpful and was able to ok my request.

The restuarant had an older crowd, with an older feel. Friday night at prime time, there was no one there. only 3 different wines and be careful, wait staff does not know the difference. Food was alright, little over pricey.
Rooms were amazing, staff was great. Very clean, very comfortable, very private. Great place to stay.

Parking lot keycard did not always work for entering or existing.
Good place to hang out with family and friends.

The construction was going on to extend the lobby bar and have wine tasting but of course it wasn't quite done yet so no lobby and no drinks inside the hotel. However, the Westin next door was wonderful and is a sister property so we had the use of their bar and lobby which was very nice.
location which was perfect for walking to Stanford and downtown Palo Alto. Also right next door there were cafes, coffee shops, bakery's and Trader Joe's. Staff was very accomodating and willing to please in any way possible.

The hotel attracts groups and if the groups include young people between 10 and 16 years of age, they can be noisy in the halls at night. Ask to be placed in a room away from groups with kids.
Excellent location, excellent pool, free WiFi, excellent breakfast, low price.

Put us in room across from houskeeping station. Cleaning carts always in the hall. Could see all the dirty linen through the door. Lots of talking and door banging by staff even after 10 pm. Will not stay here again.
Leaving the hotel.

Welcome to the 1970s. I believe they are refurbishing the place now but woah I have never been anywhere which looked that dated but still ran well and so I won't judge based on decor. The price was shockingly high for a 3* but these are Palo Alto prices and it's not a fair comparison.
Perfect comfort, great bed, great duvet, and the burger I had by the pool was fantastic. Even the Wifi worked well. I was positively surprised.

Low toilets. made it difficult for us older people to get up and down. A very minor issue.
Outstanding staff just made our stay wonderful!! We will definitely stay here the next time we are in Palo Alto'

1st room smelled like cat urine and we asked to be moved and staff did so, just think not ALL rooms need to be animal friendly!!!!
The staff was helpful!!

I had read other reviews and thought maybe they were lighter sleepers than us but the walls are thin. You could hear neighbours and people talking in the hallways very clearly. Also paying $16/night for parking?? Was a little pricey considering in town was free.
We liked the location which is close to trains and walking in town. The bed & pillows were nice too.

Lobby under major construction. Pool needs to be cleaned, the bottom of it was filthy.
Friendly staff Great Location Tranquil Setting Pet Friendly (I have a ESA)
