Proximity to downtown
Finding the access to the hotel and parking.
Overall good experience.
Jackhammer at 7.30 in the morning at the construction site opposite the rear of the hotel.
sitting and enjoying looking at the water, walking out the door and being right in down town.
Friendly, attentive staff, great coffee and paper each morning in lobby, free chocolates too. Walking distance to town.
We couldn't turn a/c off so we were cold at night. TV hard to turn off too. No onsite parking
All of the staff were very friendly and customer service oriented -- always went the extra mile. Upon arrival, they had given us a room upgrade, which was nice. Location is just on the edge of downtown, so easy to walk everywhere. Everything was very clean and no issues.
There were some loud people partying until after midnight. To the credit of the hotel, when we called the front desk to complain, they sent someone over to tell them to quiet down.
Staff was very helpful and kind.
Sink in room would drain so slow when filled....took shower after swimming in mens area of pool ..3 minutes in to my shower ankle deep in water.....gross
Room was beautiful. Nice CLEAN bathroom
access to downtown Portsmouth
Starting to look a little tired needs a refresh.
We were "upgraded" to a room outside the hotel. It was not the clean room that was advertised. It had not been updated since the 80's, there was mold on the fridge and a huge spot of mold in the closet. Don't let them upgrade you.
There was a problem with our reservation at the hotel. It was handled well and we were up graded.
The mattress in our up graded room was well past it's use full life.
I liked the comfy beds.
the pool area was depressing. the view out my window was of a construction project. parking was expensive and challenging. i would appreciate a voucher for a free nights stay without the noise from construction across the street.
We loved the upgrade to a suite!
Location was perfect in downtown area.
Work out facility was dingy and small.
The staff went above and beyond to make our stay a very special
Easy walking distance to the centre of town and tourist highlights was good. Staff on the front desk were very helpful.
Parking in the public car park opposite was easy but it rubs a bit to have to pay $15 when there is unoccupied parking on site.
comfortable room and bed, very nice valet
Friendly staff Attentive staff Upgrade to Club Level for same price made the value somewhat more palatable. Room very comfortable but could use a second comfortable chair
The regular room rate without the upgrade was Extremely expensive with no amenities such as continental breakfast.
Comfortable beds, clean rooms, nice bathrooms, good spacing within the room. Valet guys were friendly and attentive despite the slow and quiet weekend.
We felt this hotel and location of facility was for a more mature or business group rather than a young couple looking for more activities to do. We found ourselves traveling to Ogunquit, ME for more activities to do. The noise level was poor. We were woken up by running water from toilets and showers all around us. We felt like we were on a business trip rather than a mini getaway. The staff failed to tell us we would be paying for valet at $18/day on top of tipping them.
location, helpful valets, easy parking fees added to the bill
i had a block room rate that i was unaware of upon check in. When I asked to be refunded at check out, they refused
the staff tried to be very helpful, but getting the maintenance ppl to my room is not what I want to do, I want to be in my room and be at peace! see complaints .>>>
1) sound from the next room over, including bathroom functions could be plainly heard, throughout the day and night. 2) the thermostat would not allow the heat to be reduced nor to turn on the a/c and the room was intolerably hot at 73-74 The staff didn't offer any solution to #1 other than to apologize (they should have changed my room) and for #2, the maintenance folks weren't available at that hour of night, it would take "awhile".
Great location, close to everything in downtown Portsmouth.
-$15 to park car in lot -TV didn't work -Elevator ding outside our room -Extra bed/cot set up from previous guests making room overcrowded -Fan in bathroom didn't work either
i liked the location of the hotel. it was perfect to get to downtown.
the room we stayed in was renovated but yet there was wallpaper paste on the wall. the heater/ac unit was located so close to the window that when the curtains were closed at night, the curtains were blowing into the room and all the heat was going to the window and not into the room. we got the room at a great rate, but i feel the original rate was rather much for the size of the room.
Pool and any recreation facilities
Nice hotel appearance. Lobby and valet very nice. Chocolates and flowers out for the guests was a nice touch. Location to downtown was perfect. Driving in and out was really easy and parking was very convenient.
Club lounge not really worth it. Space is just a small continental breakfast area. Not really relaxing. Food was very mediocre. Air circulation very poor. Windows do on open and fresh air circulation and humidity control is lacking. Made it difficult to sleep because air was very dry and stale, seemed to lack oxygen. Oddly uncomfortable.
