Score from 95 reviews Very good

Score from 69 reviews Excellent
Perfect for leaving the car and walking around the lovely downtown area. Close to interstate and centre. Clean and well appointed. Staff friendly and efficient.
A little corporate for my taste.
Breakfast was good. Walking distance to downtown. Staff is excellent.
Hotel is old and overpriced. Room is average. Carpet was stained and nasty. It is a very noisy place. What really angered me was having to pay $15 a day to park!! THere are much nicer places yet more expensive downtown. The comfort Inn one mile away is nicer and only $100 a night.
Very nice modern hotel. Good location and Portsmouth town s short walk away. Lovely restaurants in the harbour area.
Small bar area. Very busy with Team building conferences there on the day we were staying. Somebody set fire alarm off at bed time luckily false alarm, but chaotic as nobody in charge and guests congregating around front entrance when fire engines arrived. Breakfast not included in room rate.
Location was great!
No hot water or water pressure after it was supposedly fixed. The answer was we could move rooms in the morning or complimentary breakfast. Wife did nit feel like getting out of bed and moving to another room so accepted breakfast! That was cut ally quite good!
The location, the facilities, the staff, the food, the Club room buffet, the bar and the parking/although expensive. Our housekeeper whose name is Inky or something like that (stayed 10-22 to 10-28 in room 514) was wonderful and deserves a raise. We have never had a room cleaned and someone so nice and friendly as she was.
We were put in a room with a king bed and had reserved two full, requested a feather free but had to move to another room so had to check the bedding to make sure of no feathers. We were not told of the parking fee and found it a little expensive. Its was very rainy and the parking lot a ways a way so had valet which of course was extra. The carpet was stained but that was acceptable. We had very little hot water, not enough for a full bath or shower the whole time (6 days) there. The television did not work properly on all stations and our phone was not working. Someone was going to check and didn't until our last day and a very nice man did fix the phone, not the television. The water is probably still not hot.
Great location and easy to walk to all shops, restaurants and places of interest. A lovely city
Friendly staff, good location - 5 minutes walk from downtown Portsmouth. Apart from one negative, it was very clean and bright.
Found previous occupants left over food in the refrigerator. Other than that, it was a very pleasant.
Location and staff
We received a room upgrade and the location was perfect .
Friendly, professional staff.
Club level very poor. Room service dishes stacked near elevator most of them day. Club room tiny, perhaps converted from a hotel room. Food & snacks were terrible ( bags of chips, cup of dip), cash bar of cheap wine, overall pathetic. Don't waste money staying on the club level.
Proximity to downtown
Finding the access to the hotel and parking.
AMBIANCE COMFORT LOCATION
I would have liked better price- after Labor Day stay.
Overall good experience.
Jackhammer at 7.30 in the morning at the construction site opposite the rear of the hotel.
sitting and enjoying looking at the water, walking out the door and being right in down town.
Friendly, attentive staff, great coffee and paper each morning in lobby, free chocolates too. Walking distance to town.
We couldn't turn a/c off so we were cold at night. TV hard to turn off too. No onsite parking
All of the staff were very friendly and customer service oriented -- always went the extra mile. Upon arrival, they had given us a room upgrade, which was nice. Location is just on the edge of downtown, so easy to walk everywhere. Everything was very clean and no issues.
There were some loud people partying until after midnight. To the credit of the hotel, when we called the front desk to complain, they sent someone over to tell them to quiet down.
Staff was very helpful and kind.
Sink in room would drain so slow when filled....took shower after swimming in mens area of pool ..3 minutes in to my shower ankle deep in water.....gross
Room was beautiful. Nice CLEAN bathroom
access to downtown Portsmouth
Starting to look a little tired needs a refresh.
We were "upgraded" to a room outside the hotel. It was not the clean room that was advertised. It had not been updated since the 80's, there was mold on the fridge and a huge spot of mold in the closet. Don't let them upgrade you.
There was a problem with our reservation at the hotel. It was handled well and we were up graded.
The mattress in our up graded room was well past it's use full life.
I liked the comfy beds.
the pool area was depressing. the view out my window was of a construction project. parking was expensive and challenging. i would appreciate a voucher for a free nights stay without the noise from construction across the street.
We loved the upgrade to a suite!
Location was perfect in downtown area.
Work out facility was dingy and small.
