24 hr pool
Shuttle was convenient.
Hotel was noisy. Noise from halls at night and noise from other rooms in early morning with people leaving for early flights on Sunday morning (4-5 a.m.)
Grandkids, Jazzlynn and Jordaan loved the swimming pool during the New Year's eve throughout the 2 days of stay. Great breakfasts. Our applehead dog appreciates the location. Our home has no swimming Pool & hot Tub. Shilo INN is known to have the largest indoor pools around.
Horrible end of day snob desk person, error overcharges in CC billing probably on the pet fee or whatever it was. The dispute going on with my bank's credit card is still in process. We went on to Shilo Inn at Seaside the next time, no overcharges. We'll boycott PDX airport Shilo Inn and go to the rest of the other Shilo Inn for the rest of the year. As a punishment to them we won't be back in a long time then. They will suffer having to give us copy of the receipt at the end of the day and their "greedy" efforts will not make us bring in cash instead of CC. We'll still use CC and not give them cash. Next time I'll use a debit card that freezes their transcation upon dispute occurs. Last time shilo Inn at PDX airport overcharged my Debit Card by $480.00 (Four Hundred Eighty Bucks, I froze the transcation till got it back) they said it was a mistake, nah, I noticed their business is down and they cheat to "borrow" some money.
A lot of changes and the new lady at front desk is rude
cost at the time was excellent and room was spacious.
The staff was BEYOND excellent, loved everyone I came in contact with during my very short stay.
The kitchen could be stocked a little better, it was very sparse (ran out of cream, etc.) and the coffee maker broke. That being said, when we called down the staff was there immediately with a new coffee maker and more cream and coffee, within about three minutes!!!! Awesome.
Free breakfast had cutbacks but the waitress allowed us to add ham and bacon to our breakfast at no extra charge. Grandkids had plain pancakes they wanted the mickey mouse which was not free but at discount if ordered with coupon. Next time we'll buy them mickey mouse pancakes with disount coupons. Their swimming pool and super king sized hot tub are favored thats the reason of the stay.
Traffic heading out to Vancouer was jammed up making us late. Shilo Inn PDX needs another parking lot enter and exit zone?
This is my favorite place to stay when I am in Portland. My son lives in Vancouver and it makes the commute very easy for me. Complementary breakfast is perfect. The staff at the restaurant and front desk are very friendly. My friends love to come and meet me here for happy hour.
First, they lost my reservation. Then my key card didn't work, not once or twice but 3 times and I had to keep going down to the lobby from the 3rd floor. Finally demanded to see the manager and they grudgingly came up with me and made sure the card worked. No apology for the inconvenience at all. The hotel smelled musty like old cigarette smoke. The free breakfast was a joke. There was supposedly hot food but you had walk from the "breakfast" area to the restaurant on the other side of the hotel.
Close to Airport Easy to Find
The server at the lounge was amazing, and the food was good. Although we could only choose from the happy hour menu, because the dining room did not open until 6?
The bed was horrible, it was as hard as a rock!(felt and looked like it was 30 years old) The pillow (if you can call it that) felt like a folded blanket stuffed in a pillow case and was the size of a couch throw pillow. The blanket smelled like a nursing home. Worst night we've ever had in a hotel. My daughter even ended up sleeping on the floor because it was more comfortable. The decor was dated and the bathroom just as bad. Also don't bother with the continental breakfast, try the restaurant (if it's open).
We liked how the kitchen/lounge area was separated from the sleeping area. Also that there was an are separate from the restroom to get ready and there were two hair dryers! Good room design. We enjoyed the warm breakfast buffet... nice touch.
The hot tub was in need of a cleaning.
all is great!
not much to change except for frequent quests maybe a less expensive fair when leaving early and cant partake in all of the breakfast or coffee, early mornig swim or exercise.
easy access to the freeway
showing signs of age. key cards wouldn't work on the first try quite often.
Great location. Excellent shuttle service. Kids loved the pool. Helpful and friendly staff.
Can't complain. Would stay there again.
Rooms were spacious with nice dining area, swimming pool open 24/7, 3 different breakfast meal options, and all staff very polite. At restaurant host treated customers like royalty, pulled chairs out for females and made the girls feel special.
Went to use pool at 7:30am, sign on door said closed for maintenance, we thought had plenty of time since sign on wall states closed daily from 9-10am for maintenance.
Shuttle to airport
I was very pleasantly surprised by Shilo Inn. I was expecting something like a sterile Holiday Inn. The people spent time decorating and making it very individual.
Loved the staff, had a great option for breakfast, pool was great and hot tub for relaxing, rooms were spacious and clean. The price was great.
The bed was too hard for my taste but to each his own.
Room rate and location
Some noise from upper floor/floors
Not enough staff at the main desk
Convenient location to airport and available food
Room was outdated and smelled strongly of cigarette smoke
Staff at the restaurant were very professional.
Looks are dated.
location, comfortable beds, friendly staff, restaurant available, airport shuttle
