Cheap and close to the city.
Our stay was short. The room was very dirty and so was the pool room and sauna! Lots of mold and a smoke smell.

Only booked so the kids could swim in pool and they did the first night but then the next morning they had the pool closed. When we asked about we were told that the chemicals were off balance and pumps weren't working Should not of swam the night before. Got a refund for our next night and stay elsewhere

We loved the close location to 2 freeways.

Unattended Pit bull charged at me down hallway into building as I was trying to unload my car. I did not finish. Room had ants!

The freeway noise was very loud. There was no elevator to the second floor and I had a disabled person with me. the pool was cold and the hot tub wasn't working. Breakfast was served 6-9, we got there at 8:15 and nearly everything was gone (no coffee, no fruit, no bread, no yogurt, no cold cereal, no choice of hot tea except mango), 2 Danish left and a bunch of hard English muffins, oh- they did have breakfast burritos but I don't eat eggs.
The hotel is centrally located and has easy freeway access. Everything was clean and with exception of being near the entrance door it was basically sound free from talking, TV's or noisy water pipes!

Exie checked us in...he has great people skills and customer service

Some drivers had parked crooked in the already small parking lot, obviously not the fault of the hotel.
We simply needed a place to sleep and shower for a one night visit with family.
August 14, 2014
Pool was warm and clean, shower stayed at temperature. ..
August 12, 2014
The room was smelly and the beds were uncomfortable.
Didn't really like much about this hotel except the staff. They are friendly and trying to accommodate guests.

The breakfast area was smaller than our hotel room. We could not even get our granddaughter's wheelchair in the room. The room was PACKED with guests and we could not stay any longer to wait to make a waffle. There was absolutely no fruit at all. I had paid 125.00 for a hotel that was 10 miles from the heart of Portland and I had counted on the Shilo name to be a quality establishment. It seems to be renting rooms out by the week and month and the people taking up the entire breakfast area were visiting with each other and in no hurry to leave the area. They also had monopolized all the outdoor seating areas and were smoking up a storm. We had to skip the included breakfast and go out to breakfast in order to have any seating available at all. We just really felt the pricing should have been more in the 80.00 range - possibly up to 100.00, but that 125.00 (with tax) was too steep.
Room was clean and adequate. Hotel check in was simple and gentleman was friendly.

Would have got a better rate by walking in the door instead pf booking on line
August 6, 2014
The room had a horrible odour that the staff had obviously tried to mask with an over powering cleaner. By the time the morning came, the cleaner had worn off and the room smelled of urine. The cost was comparable to much better quality hotels, to which this was not. Had it not been for the fact that all other hotels were booked from Portland through the Vancouver Wa area over a long weekend we would not have stayed through the night.

very friendly and helpful staff

Hotel is a little long in the tooth and has obviously not been updated since it was built. As such, it was way overpriced.
The location worked well for me and other amenities were close by..

One of the chairs had a broken wheel, we didn't have enough TV channels.
The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed or stay and we were able to have our little dog with us with no complaints. The staff was very friendly and accommodating with extra towels, soap and shampoo.
