Everything ... from the staff to the comfort of the room to the breakfast the next morning.
Nothing ... would have liked to stay longer.
The peace and quiet of the rooms. The old fashioned charm. The quality of the bed - firm but not hard. Extra seating in the room as well as around the rest of the building.
The feather pillows - that's just me. No frig or microwave, but that would ruin the old fashioned charm.
The room was amazing. Cozy, comfortable, quaint, and the bed itself was featherbed heaven. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable.
I was working in Hartford for the week and I didn't want to stay in the town. I came across Simsbury house and found the perfect stop. The staff are amazingly friendly and helpful, breakfast is great and the rooms are comfortable. It is about a 30 minutes drive from Hartford, so it is well worth taking the time to drive out to the hotel every evening to relax. In the evening you can eat in the hotel restaurant, or there are a few restaurants which are walking distance where you can eat pizza and have a few locally brewed beers.
Having to leave after 4 nights.
Location, staff, room and breakfast above the expectation
Air conditioned a little bit noisy
Walking distance to Simsbury town center and concert performance by the Hartford Symphony summer series.
That we didn't have more time to spend there.
The ambiance and the staff.
Lack of grab rails in shower.
Carriage house Room was nicely appointed. Bedding was comfortable. Nice continental breakfast.
Inn Keeper's hospitality
Chipped paint; worn stair carpet!
Good location Comfortable Good breakfast Nice staff very friendly Good parking Historical building
No bananas or fruit salad for breakfast the last times I stayed there they had a very good fruit salad. So I missed it.
Everything! Staff went out of their way to make us feel special! The chef cooked something special ( not on menu) for my 1/2 marathon . The inn keeper was also so helpful!
Wifi was useless. Poor connection. Hauling bags up and down stairs.
I was staying at the Inn for a family wedding which was being held in the next small town from the Inn and it was like staying in a good friends home. We could all meet up in the common room and did often after each event. We ordered food and drinks one night and had a most accommodating server who brought everything to us as we got caught up on family. The staff were all so nice and helpful. We all loved the beautiful antiques and with the fresh snow all around it was White Christmas all over again. The breakfast was very good with everything one could possibly want. My room was lovely and the bed very comfortable
I have no negative comment
I was very comfortable there. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Unfriendly staff, we were booked for 4 nights but only stayed one, moved to another hotel, room we were in was isolated, had to go across the car park in deep snow to even get a cup of coffee, no facilities in room....
The home is an architectural gem in the heart of town. Staff was courteous and accommodating. Room was very nice and quiet. Really enjoyed the many paintings hanging throughout the home of local New England scenes. Continential breakfast was great.
We had plans elsewhere for dinner but were interested in having cocktails so it would have been nice if there was a bar lounge area. They did however serve us cocktails in the parlor area which worked out fine and was comfortable. The only negative thing we experienced was although our room on the surface was very appealing, the bed mattress was very uncomfortable and really needs to be replaced. Some other maintenance like repair of peeling wallpaper and updating some of the perhaps original furniture should be considered.
Very charming New England inn. Will definitely stay there again on my next trip to Simsbury.
Staff was friendly, room clean and nicely decorated.room was quiet.
Heat was not on when we arrived and therefore the room was cold. Overall, the room was in poor condition, peeling wallpaper in the bathroom, solied rugs, etc., old saggy matress. We had prepaid for two nites and left after one. Supprised that this is in Farmington, CT.
Lovely Staff and ambiance.
An Historic house full of lovely antiques. The breakfast was quite good.
Beautiful, historic building, well maintained. Warm, comfortable room. Staff gave us the option of enjoying the continental breakfast in the restaurant rather than in the room.
46 steps to 3rd floor. Bathroom was a bit cozy.
Very accommodating and friendly staff. Very quiet. great location
the staff was excellent, cheerful andd responsive. Havng the Metro Bis in house for dinner is a huge plus.
