lifts were extremely slow and broken down
old bath and hallway, small rooms
The hotel car to the airport had defective suspension and was highly dangerous.
Elevators are small, slow and one set broke down one day. Bed and pillows weren't the most comfortable and the bathroom was so tiny!
Loved the location and the food was wonderful in the restaurant. Staff was very friendly
We loved the hotel, the upper floors are great... its close to union square and you can take the ride to all the attractions right from the door step
This hotel ticked every box for us and it is now the standard that I will measure others by!
bathroom are a little small.
Eddie the door man was great!!!
The rooms are very small and have tiny bathrooms. The street noise is very loud so bring earplugs for a restful sleep.
The hotel is beautiful and the views from the 21st floor Starlight Lounge are magnificent. The location is perfect for incredible shopping and dining in Union Square. The staff from the doormen to the concierge to the housekeeping were so incredibly helpful.
Tiny rooms and bathroom was ridiculously small. very noisy, air con needs updating. Not at all like photos.
The location was amazing.
Location and the ambience
Close to all activities shopping night clubs restaurants ect.great location, transportion Tolley
Beds lumpy and the bathrooms were small
I checked out one night into a seven night stay. The room was damp, smelt musty, dirty, the window wouldn't close (the engineer tried but could not fix this), loud, the decor had deteriorated significantly since the pictures on the website were taken, on and on.
Staff helped out where they could
The teeny tiny bathroom was too small to move around in.
The location was great. It was within walking distance to shops and restaurants.
Overall Decoration, small bathroom, poor toiletries
Now this may just be my bad luck but I couldn't deal with the noise and left one night into my week long stay. I originally had a room that faced the main road and on a Saturday.. this is terribly loud. Then, ontop of that, the walls are very thin, so given that there was a party nextdoor to my room, I heard everything and asked the front desk to find me a quieter room, which they did and I slept until early morning in this new room and then around 5am coming from the room next door to the new room i moved into, are loud romantic noises. I did not stay another night.
The staff were great and very accommodating. The location is good And the rooms were inviting.
The staff was fabulous. The complimentary wine served in the Starlight Room was amazing as we viewed San Francisco from the 21st floor of the hotel..
Carpets old-retaining odor. Bathrooms do not have fan for moisture removal so they get wet-damp smell quickly. House keeping should scrub bath tubs or use a disinfectant.
Paired down services for lower price is a good formula.
Receptionist was stoned People smoking weed outside Guests forced to share elevator with drunken assholes going to nightclub who shout at you because the security told you you could cut queue Room was a small box barely the size of the bed
Location was great for seeing sites Free tea and coffee in morning was nice
location charm of old hotel Scalas Harry Denton's Starlight Room
Shouldn't charge guests to go to Harry Dentons
Room was small
Convenient location Friendly staff Fairly good value for money Roof bar with great views
They didn't have women's ítems in the bathroom (shower cap, make-up wipes etc)
The vibe in the Scala at the entrance
Rooms were super small. The hotel itself is pretty old and rooms need refurbishment. Staff is ok but definitely not 5* service. This kind of hotel in Europe would be rated max 4*
It was a perfect location, right on Union square.
Too many tourists that week
