I really loved the historical aspects of the hotel, such as the decorative ceilings and the wood paneling. The 1920s-era hotel still felt like an elegant, old hotel in terms of the atmosphere, but it was modern, as well, with cool furniture and decor. Very chic. I'm so glad I stayed there rather than one of the more modern, run-of-the-mill hotels that you can find in any town in America. It was so unique. I took a lot of pictures of all of the features. And the views from the nightclub on the top floor were amazing! Bed was comfortable. I didn't mind the small bathroom - I'm used to living in a 1920s-era apartment, so it didn't bother me at all!

As with any older hotel in a big city, you could hear the sounds from the street, and sometimes your neighbors next door. But that is to be expected.

Great location. Lively lobby. Plenty of coffee in am. Doorman was friendly and helpful.

Very luxurious hotel, the entry hall is quite stunning, and the room doesn't let you down neither! I think overall it was a very good ratio price/quality and I would recommend this hotel.

Iv e been staying at the Sir Francis Drake the fourth time now. although I gave the hotel and it s employees the fourth time a chance to make their job better it didn't happened. As a result I will stay at the Hyatt Grand, right next block, the next time as they have the same location but very friendly staff, large modern rooms, all for less money. I disliked the small rooms. The bathroom was very small. to sit on the toilet you must first close the bathroom door to be able to sit down then you have to squeeze between the toiletpaperholder and the lavabo wash station (while on the toilet you touch both with your shoulders). The staff is unfortunately very arrogant. That changes when you start spending a few dollars tip at the beginning of all your belongings. You must become a member of the hotels points program to get the internet free. if you re not willing to get a member you have to pay for the internet every day room rates are too high compairing for what you get

Rooms to small, bathroom to small. no mini bar, no coffee maker Room wasn't very clean, don't like seeing pets in a hotel as my family has asthma. I prefer the Monaco on Geary.

I was shocked when I received my bill. It was almost $400.00 more than my reservation indicated it would be. I don't understand why you charged me for about 20 phone calls. As I recall, I only made one iphone call from the room. What were all the other charges for? The room was noisy, the only chair in the room uncomfortable, the bathroom so small, it was hard to flush the toilet. The bathroom door was hard to close and open and there was no ice in the machines. The only good thing about the room was the bed and the location. I wouldn't stay at this hotel again. I felt ripped off, especially about the phone charges.

Room had a strong chemical-cleaning-fluid smell. Pictures on the wall were very creepy. I hate paying for wi fi access, especially when I am paying a premium to stay in the hotel.

The room, particularly the bathroom, was too small --- uncomfortable for the price. Will not stay there again.

There's simply no better location to be located while in San Francisco. Shops, restaurants and the famous Cable Car are literally at your door step. Scala is an italian restaurant attached to the Hotel which is very good although a bit pricy. And the Concierge (Leif and Anne) will do everything they can to help you go where you want or even get a table at a rastaurant. I've never seen that in today's World.

I don't want to be unfair but the size of the room for four people was a bit too small eventhough our daughters (15 and 13 yrs) claim they are very tidy...
