Liked it all - no reception at building but who cares when apartment looks like this!
Views, price, apartment rather than hotel
The Heating system is very very poor and the apartment was extremely cold at night.
The Location and the Amazing Views
The wood flooring is chipped at some points. A speck pricked my son's foot.
The view. The kitchen. Clean apartment.
Great location just by Paulus Pier to hop to Manhattan. Really enjoyed the Manhattan skyline view from the bed.
The weather , we are from California
We like everything , location , quiet and clean place .
Bathroom a bit small and a bit outdated.
Apartment size Facilities WIFI Bedrooms Location
Travel options into NYC slightly limited on weekends.
Close proximity to NYC without the noise.
The place was under remodeling. So the lobby was semi functional. Early in the morning we could hear the workers on our floor talking and working away.
The location was excellent. We were far away from the hustle and bustle of Manhattan, but close enough to travel over on the Path within minutes. The view was perfect and more than what we had expected. Pictures do not do it justice...
Week long metro card didn't cover the Path trains.
View Facilities Living space Away from hubbub of Manhattan
No blender in the kitchen
The view of New York, New Jersey, Statue of Liberty, Hudson River, and the presence of HBLR Light Rail on Essex Street.
Building alterations of the foyer area but this didn't impact on the quality of our stay
Location - a minute seconds from the Hudson River waterfront and a few minutes walk from the PATH station The View - from the apartment of the Upper Bay, Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty! Apartment - high quality, spacious and comfortable for our family of 5 - including x2 grown up boys Facilities - an amazing roof top swimming pool, games room and excellent gym. The view of Lower Manhattan from the pool area was incredible!!
No Parking. There is a parking lot in the building, but no where there was a mention that "Sky City" does not operate it. When there is a problem, there is no one to help the guest. I was about to miss my flight, as the parking gate is closed and could not get my vehicle out. As per the sings posted in the parking lot, the attendant is supposed to be present at the gate, but he is not.
The building is under construction. Path way to the room is pretty shady and there are no apartment numbers or signs for the rooms on my floor. However, the apartment is clean and similar to the pictures posted on the site.
The hotel is awesome, the view of ground zero and near by ferry to NYC is good. The WiFi is jet speed.
Renovation work was taking place when we arrived which didn't bother us too much till the one day we wanted a lie in and there was work going on in the corridor. Would have appreciated being informed beforehand. We were only notified of the fire alarm testing, and the pool and patio area being closed so a crane could be used to access the top floors whilst we were there.
Good location, fantastic views of Manhattan and the surrounding areas. Apartment was spacious and clean. Sufficient facilities. Good transport services, just be aware the local path station is closed at the weekends for 2014. There is another station about 15 mins walk away.
Lovely Space and very clean building, great location
it is the best hotel, i like it.
Everything in New York is very expensive. Add to this the path ticket to enter Manhattan every day...
apartment was big and clean. Beds were very comfortable. Amazing sightseeing from the apartment windows.
The construction was horrible, had no access to fitness facility, concierge refers you to a phone number for help and no real person to help with anything, washer leaked, no 'starter' laundry detergent like Black binder said, no coffee creamer
Great location. We are a family with young children (8 and 9). We were able to catch the PATH train (a 10 minute walk from the apartments) right into the World Trade Center. Be warned, the PATH does not run on the weekends. It was in a quiet neighborhood, which is a contrast to bustling New York. Great views of the harbor and the Statue of Liberty. My kids enjoyed the pool.
Really nothing to complain about • Rooms were very bright with blinds closed from approx. 5 am (late May), some would find it difficult to sleep. • Quite expensive to get a taxi from NY. Should make use of PATH and subway whenever possible. • For a taxi (yellow cab) for 2 people from JFK to apartment cost $115 including tolls (approx. 11 pm). There are many cheaper modes of transport to JFK, should research before going. • From lower Manhattan for one person: $40.
We were upgraded in apartments without asking. Apartment was on 29th floor Maintenance work going on while we were there, don’t judge by first impressions! Apartment • Luxurious, large, comfortable apartment. Absolutely spotless! • Excellent views from all rooms • Sleeps 6 people very comfortably. Large double room with en-suite and flat screen TV. Twin room very comfortable. Sitting room has a mattress for pull out couch (double). • En-suite in master room and main bathroom. • Kitchen very well equipped. Dishwasher (dishwasher powder provided), washing machine and tumble dryer (no washing machine powder provided). Large oven/grill/hob. Large fridge and freezer • Large flat screen TV in sitting room, multiple channels • Free, unlimited WiFi • Towels provided • Very convenient for NYC without the hustle and bustle of staying in city (much quieter at night to get to sleep) Area • Area is quiet, working area. Apartment is minutes walk from Hudson River where there are amazing views of Lower Manhattan and you can also see the Statue of Liberty. Very nice to walk along Hudson River • Area is very clean (much cleaner than NYC) • Large supermarket at front entrance (part of building but you must go outside to enter). Pharmacy and creche also part of the building. • Closer to Newark Airport than JFK. Transport • During nice weather the ferry is a very nice way to travel to lower Manhattan. Open top where you get a very nice view of lower Manhattan, Jersey City and statue of Liberty. Minutes walk from apartment. $6 per person per trip from Mon-Fri. $2.50 at the weekend (different service). Takes approx. 5 mins. Runs every few minutes until approx. 11 pm. This brings you to lower Manhattan, a short walk from the WTC. • Also have the option of using the PATH train. This is $2.50 per person per trip. You can go to much more destinations on the PATH from station: Exchange Place. One stop to WTC (5-10 mins). You can change at Grove St. Station (station approx.
Location and view is great, near transportation to NY (20 minutes), spacious apartment, helpful staff, a beautiful place to stay.
Ongoing construction at the reception and lobbies which was not disclosed when we were making our booking. On-site Parking too expensive!
Courteous and helpful staff. Well maintained and clean apartment.
