Very helpful. Loved the room. The bed was wonderful
The privacy set back amongst mature gardens yet walking distance to some of Scottadales finest restaurants, spas, retreat centers, and shopping. The family and staff that own, manage and run the resort make you feel like you are home.
My stay is always too short
The king bungalow was perfect for our needs. It was clean, a/c worked well and shower pressure was excellent. The bed was clean and comfortable. We took our grandson to the pool and again, clean with lots of seating. We had a great week and plan to stay here again next year.
Everyone was wonderful and we were very comfortable.
I would have liked a small kitchen for the week. I didn't realize the bungalow didn't have one. I thought there was one in the pictures that was attached to the room I looked at on line. The ice maker could have been in a more convenient location.
The room was very clean and very peaceful. What a great place will definitely go back.
Need to update mattresses.
Centrally located for all my business in Phoenix area, staff helpful and friendly.
Would have liked a bigger fridge, but hey it's a room not a house. Still was very nice on whole.
The location is excellent :) the staff (Kevin) is always pleasant in greeting upon arrival. You just cannot beat the comfort & relaxation of being able to consider the Smoke Tree your home-away-from-home stay in the valley. You aren't cramped for space, you have a sitting area (inside & outside) and the convenience of parking right up to your room. We found this gem on our way from Vegas & have managed to stay here at every opportunity.
Location close to shops
Room old, noisey fan in bath ,wall AC ran 24hrs noisey.Room dark ,dusty unclean.Patio furnishing never cleaned.Nice pool could not use it after one of the residents in Apt 31 allowedHer large dog to swim in it .This resort may have been fine 35years ago now it is a place of decay and neglect. We were looking to return to Scottsdale for a week in July .It will never be back to this Location.Your rating of this resort is completely flawed , a 4 or5 is a true rating .Can we trust you for our next trip to the Scottsdale Links Resort ? . Let me know
Was just what we needed. Spacious nice rooms, beautiful grounds, free bikes we could use
Value and location
Timely servicing of rooms
Front of property looks abandoned. How expensive are paint & plants?
seclusion and quiet
Smoketree Resort offers the best value of any lodgings in Scottsdale. The king bungalow has 2 separate rooms, a kitchenette, 2 TVs, lovely bathroom, a sliding glass door onto a private patio with table and chairs. It's true that the place looks a little down on its luck, with an empty restaurant front even making it look abandoned from the road, but go further, and something akin to many other Scottsdale resorts awaits for a fraction of the costs. We love the opening windows and sliding doors to let the mild Scottsdale spring air in. There is a Fine Foods market 2 doors down, and you're off the main drag of Scottsdale Rd, on a cross street, Lincoln. Far, far better than the budget motel we stayed in last time we were in Scottsdale, which gave us only a tiny room and was over run with loud young people. Smoketree will be our go to place from now on when we're in Scottsdale for good music.
There are signs that the owners have trouble keeping up with some maintenance. Our lovely pedestal sink had a small crack on the edge for example. The kitchenette had only a couple of utensil sets, but the office could offer more. The little things I mention in no way affected out stay, however, which was lovely.
Nice environment, much better than staying at a chain. Very clean, very quaint. Will be my first choice in Scottsdale from now on.
It seemed to me that the grounds, particularly the walkways could have been cleaned a little more often. The empty restaurant in the front is an eyesore.
Great location and nice natural grounds. Small and uncrowded.
Our room could have been a bit better appointed with eating facilities (cutlery, knives, toaster oven).
Size of room.
Most everything. The entire property is in extremely poor condition. Entrance area boarded up! Dingy office. Gravel path to bungalow. Huge cracks in front door jam. Bolt lock would not work. TV was practically snow! Unbelievable!
close to my conference
Cochroaches in room. Very small. Bed was a rock.
The grounds are georgeous! Good restaurants & groceries nearby. Good location.
no real facilities for food prep. Frig too small, sink too small. There seemed to be space for a larger frig., sink counter. Bathroom pretty small. Work out space very tiny & crowded.
hard to find office & empty lot and building on street made it confusing. Did not see a clear enough sign for office.
Pleasant property after the original shock of an empty building as the address. It looked as if town had built around it and the nearby highway loaded with malls, etc. Nicely kept up with trees, plants, small swimming pool, etc.
It was difficult to find (even with GPS) because the address was a vacant building (motel rooms now no longer in use?) -- office was on side of this building - and the "bungalows" were in back - well off the highway. Because of the adjacent malls, garbage pickup vehicles came by during the night.
Comfortable room and quiet resort surrounded by big old trees, nice to hear the birds singing in the morning. Excellent location, a lot of good restaurants and shops near by from a walking distance. It was perfect, we'll be back next year.
That it was a family run operation and not glitzy, but rather, cozy and simple. Clean and convenient and a reminder of how lovely and simple a 1950s resort can be. Very comforting.
The noise from the air con or heating unit on the roof that was hard to ignore and sleep through.
Everything was awesome
It needs to be updated it gives off a old creepy vibe
I liked that the staff was knowledgeable.
The bungalow itself was smaller than expected and it was abandoned looking upon arrival.
