I went to see the New England wolves play and the hotel was in walking distance! Waterville valley is a cute little town! The hotel was very cute, it was country "like" I lived it
The only thing I did not like was the face that there was a window going from the sleeping area to the bathroom (it did lock on both ends the bathroom side and the room side)
The location is great. Being so close to the mountain is the best feature of this place.
The staff are unfriendly. They advertise a wine and cheese reception, but the two times I have been there, they have some excuse for not offering it. The area around the pool was not clean, littered with old wrappers and a clump of hair and debris from the filter. And the hot tubs were not open. The whole point of getting a room with a kitchen was so we could cook dinners, but there was no stove.
loud, young boys running all over the place, slippery steps and grounds outside leaking skylight dirty unfriendly staff to expensive
Great meeting places, and gathering areas. Pool and hot tub were nice.
Very dated rooms. Sauna's needed help.
Close to ice rink
Free Wifi...large rooms...close to skiing.
Paid more for buffet breakfast than we did for menu breakfast the day before. And the food was not as nice.
Walking distant to hockey arena
The staff was very nice and friendly. It was close to the mountain and within walking distance to many restaurants. And it was so very cheap to stay there.
The room was not ready for us at check-in, along with many other guests. The sofa bed was horrible and the television was an old ,small thing with no premium nor movie channels. The room was not very clean. but livable. No coffee machine in the room was a disappointment and the limited continental breakfast was extremely limited.
It is a very family oriented we felt safe and welcome! The sauna is great and the location is excellent! Staff is also very nice and friendly!
The pool was too cold and full breakfast should be included.
Staff was pleasant, accommodations poor. Kitchen utensils hidden in obscure spot in living room! Staff let us know at checkout! Pillows were terrible with no extras available upon request in within entire facility! Fireside Suite was was clean but upkeep poor...with terrible carpeting coming up and broken see through bathroom separating door, as examples. Sent a letter to Steve Hodges with our concerns following checkout with no reply back! Waterville Valley is great and nice for families, but would not recommend the Snowy Owl Inn.
The resort is nestled in the White Mountains
The beds could be more comfortable
View from the Inn.
Route to the Inn from Maine.
We live in Boston and this is our favorite place to get away from the City. Whether hiking in the Spring-Fall or Skiing in the Winter. Staff at the Snowy Owl make each stay memorable, everything you need is within walking distance and it's in the middle of your Mountain paradise!
Worst breakfast ever.
sunrise, scenery, good area for walking
Other than the guy who checked us IN, no other staff acknowledged our existence during the 3 days that we were on the property. In the online website, it said "breakfast included". The FREE "Breakfast" consisted of juice, coffee and dry muffins/ plain donuts... period! (REAL breakfast is $13.95 each in their restaurant). Ice machine and a single, community, microwave are on the lower level, along with the pool and hot tubs (only 1 was working). Most of the shops (located "next door") were "closed for the season" (in October???) The whirlpool tub is extremely difficult for older people to climb in and out of (very high, no step).
Oct 19,2014 we were one of two couples in the entire facility. We arrived about 5:00pm and there were no staff present. A not was left on the check in counter with my name a room number and a key with directions on how to get to my room. If we needed anything we could call on the phone at the end of the counter and someone would answer and then help us. Almost everything was locked up and unavailable unless we wanted to call someone for help. No one was at the reception counter until 9:00 the next morning. For breakfast that came with the room consisted of a tray with about ten small muffins and the cheapest donuts possible plus two types of juices and only regular coffee. However I could not get coffee as it ran out before I got mine. There was no decaf coffee which I am only allowed to have for medical reasons but regular can substitute once in a while , but no regular coffee either. After being discussed I finally saw a house keeper walking by and was told coffee could be had if I waited until 9:00 Then I called and that special number and was told coffee would be made and brought out. I went back to my room and came down three minutes after 9:00 and the cheap muffins and donuts had been put away but the coffee was still out. Upon my request the muffins were brought back out. Breakfast was from 7:30 to 9:00am. We left by 10:00 am. It was like a dungeon corridors were darkened, the main corridor and lobby had some dim lights but that was it. .All the amenities were locked up in darkened rooms, the fireplace was not working, a corner stove was also turned off ect.etc etc. Again there was no one at the front desk. Should I have to call a voice at the end of the phone who I never saw, never saw anyone who identified themselves as a supervisor. A sign left on the counter said if we check out before 9:00 am just leave the keys on the counter.
With the choice of either a muffin or a doughnut, coffee and juice, I can hardly understand why they would say that the breakfast is included.
Outdated, not enough outlets, very poor continental breakfast (muffins & juice only), not clean in common areas, overpriced
Staff was hard to find at desk, matresses very worn and caved in. carpeting in room was coming apart at the seams.
Lovely lobby and lounge, Pleasant staff
Rooms were in need of some refreshing, ie new mattresses. Breakfast was advertised as included but was described , accurately, on site as a limited continental breakfast. Not sufficient for people who were planning to be active.
Lovely location and good options meal wise are within walking distance.
Hotel in need of an update and what is offered as a limited free breakfast is hardly worth the effort.
The location was good; staff gave us an excellent suggestion for evening dining.
The property seemed a little outdated and run down. Good choice for church group ski trips.
