Hotel Sofitel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills    

Modern hotel

Our booking for a shuttle bus to lax through Concierge was a disappointment. We waited for 2 hours in the lobby and they never came although they claimed they did, we ended up taking a cab. I think this was slack!!

Pool was poor

Staff didn't seem to care and not overly helpful. TV didn't work sometimes

Great service, we were celebrating a birthday and the hotel gave us free champagne and strawberries on arrival, and a birthday cake delivered to the room the next morning!!

We left details with the concierge to organise day trip tickets, but they didn't do it. Luckily there were still spaces available when we went back to check, but it would have been very annoying if not. Turns out the guy who took the details was only covering the desk and didn't know how to do it, which is why he told us not to wait while he made the booking....but he didn't pass the message on to someone who could help.

The staff was great I loved the decor room and restaurant service was excellent

The hotel was beautiful. I especially liked the outdoor patio area. All of the staff was wonderful, very helpful and nice.

We didn't like the room with the city view. All we saw was the mall. The hills view is much better.

Was close to Cedar Sinai Hospital

Quality of amenities in the room. We were in the Presidential Suite (rm 1045) . Constant sirens going by which I would think for $600/night the windows would be sound proof. Also for $600.00 I expected the fireplace to work. It did not. They sent Eng'g up to fix it the next day...by that evening it was again not working. Also multiple outlets did not work..so when plugging in my cell phone to re-charge it didn't charge. Changed to a different plug and it worked. Overall the quality of the room was sub-par for what I'm accustomed to for this type of price...room had the wow factor when you walked in, but the reality of the quality of the room was poor.

Room was too dark; not enough light. Lamp wouldn't stay on. Had trouble with television signal. We ordered a movie but couldn't watch it. Bathroom garbage can was too small and it was VERY inconvenient to have a "step-on" can

From the minute my daughter and I walked in the front door we were both treated like royally from a room upgrade down to the fresh baked cookies given at reception. The rooms were well appointed (yes, I took all of the Lanvin products..), the gym was large and (actually) had people working out in it and the food from room service offered a low calorie/low fat menu (finished by a plate of Macaroons, of course). But most of all, the staff were the most courteous and friendliest people I have ever encountered. I am from Australia and travel quite a bit around the world and have stayed at of sorts of places yet have never been compelled to write a review before. I only wish other establishments would understand that it is the little things that really make a difference.

Quiet, comfortable

Needs a make-over. Classic comfort and "luxury" are not the same thing. Also, the confirmation was very confusing. Some sites combine payment and confirmation. In fact, the last thing I did before receiving the confirmation, was to enter my credit card information. Furthermore, the print-out stated that "tax and city taxes were not included" It is very easy to interpret that as: I'm paying for the room rate now and will pay taxes later. Thinking I had paid, I requested a reimbursement from my company, then had to explain the situation when I submitted a second reimbursement. While it was not the end of the world (obviously), it was awkward (along with check out). I would suggest making it clear to your customers that "this credit card information does NOT constitute payment". Payment is settled at hotel upon checkout. Other than that small hiccup, i enjoyed the hotel very much.
