All the comfort and care of a traditional grand hotel, but thoroughly modern and stylish and elegant. Attention to every detail. Unobtrusive but attentive staff. Loved it, even though we were probably the oldest squarest guests in the house.
Great location for exploring downtown Manhattan.
The Soho Grand is not so Grand any more. The rooms feel tired and in need of a good refresh, the service is lacklustre, and the staff carry enough attitude to make you feel that the soul (and any semblance of hospitality) has gone out of this hotel. This level of snootiness may have cut in when the place was happening in the 90's but now it just feels cliched.
Loved the location in SoHo, staff was really friendly and food in restaurant for breakfast was great
Service was slow in restaurant
The staff & the location
Good location, comfortable rooms, friendly staff, good local knowledge, great atmosphere and decor in public areas - we'll be back!
Great greeting from front desk gentlemen. Quick and a delight to chat with. Deb miller
Gorgeous hotel, great location and really lovely staff.
Lighting, noise level
The bed, pillows, and duvet were very comfortable. The bathroom was OK. The entire hotel has very hipster decor, with carefully distressed metal work everywhere. The staff were fairly competent.
The entire hotel has a very hipster decor. The lights in the room were too dim to light the room properly. The window on my bedroom was not effectively soundproofed, so I could hear the cars at the crowded traffic junction next to the hotel honking their horns every few seconds all afternoon and late into the evening. If you stay here, don't take a room that overlooks the street! The air conditioner was either on, blowing too powerfully and too cold, or off, and the room was too warm. For the cost of this hotel, I would have expected much better success at the basics of a room to sleep comfortably in without disturbance.
Staff at the restuarant
Uncouth method of 'invoicing' I found it strange to wake up and find my bill slippep under the door reminding me of how much I owe the hotel. It read in part; "please note your bill as at 5:00am this morning is ....
I like pretty much everything about this hotel. I couldn't have been happier; the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was lovely, and the location superb. I will definitely stay here again.
Amazing views, great athmosphere, friendly and useful staff and very good restaurant menu.
The styling, the staff, the location, the food and the cocktails! Loved it!
The gym was a bit small and I was disappointed there was no roof terrace as the photos seem to indicate.
Location, the doorman, the fastness of checking in, the great room with a view on West Broadway and the nice vibes and atmosphere in the hotel. This is a great hotel with spacious rooms and suitable for travelers of all ages.
I really enjoyed my stay and believe everything was excellent. I would definitely return. However, my only negative experience unfortunately was the poor concierge service in the lobby across from the reception on my last day after checking out when booking a taxi. Finally, the doorman in front of the hotel assisted me in a great way; he did a great job that in fact the concierge should have done.
Good location in Soho. Nice rooms. Good breakfast.
Staff was a bit ignorant. You felt that you disturbed the concierge when you asked for help. Breakfast is way too expensive (a la carte menu), coffee, juice, omelette and eggs for 2 persons 63 dollars. But you can get better breakfast 10 min away at Broadway for half of the price.
The Soho Grand is a perfect little gem. I loved the location and was thrilled that I could walk everywhere that I wanted to go. I would definitely stay there again.
Best to travel with dogs (all sizes) Excellent location Very clean Good space
Location is excellent The room and bathroom sizes are great Its very clean They have free bicycles for the hotel guests Excellent door men
The staff friendliness fluctuated, with the staff behind the front desk being a smidge haughty (mostly the female staff) and the guys at the front door all being delightful!!
My car got damaged when I picked it up from the valet and I didn't discover the damage until I got home. *The light in the bathroom (could barely see myself in the mirror getting ready) All luxury hotels have magnification mirrors in the bathroom, they really need them with the lack of light.
Lobby and Lounge
Felt that the lobby and lounge were a bit dark
great location, great atmosphere
a bit noisy, roof top mentioned on booking, com but available only if you rent a penthouse
The Grand Bar was filled with excellent customer service and a great selection of different beverages. The location was very central to all the hot spots you would want to see. Everything was impeccably clean, and the whole staff was professional and courteous. I would definitely stay there again.
The location was great for us because our intent was to go spend time in Chinatown, Little Italy and the Statue of Liberty. It is also less than a 5 minute walk to the subway to go uptown which was nice.
Quite location (for New York ) but easy route to get around city. Close to a number of sub way lines and bus routes. Close to China town and little Italy.
Traffic is congested 24 hours a day. Air condition in rooms is outdated, noisy but does the job.
