the bed was fabulously comfortable
as was travelling solo on business, i objected to being told i couldn't have breakfast on the sofas as it was busy
I love the location of the soho grand .... So close to all the amazing stores and restaurants in soho.
Gym was small and there wasn't any coffee/tea in the room.
Breakfast food and service
LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION
INCREDIBLE THAT 2 OUT OF THE 3 ELEVATORS WERE BROKEN...
The location is one of the main reasons to stay here. Close to restaurants and stores.
The concierge during the day was an English man that was not very helpful. We asked for lunch recommendations and he told us "walk down the street and you will find places to eat".
cleanliness, staff warmth and helpfulness, free coffee and tea, nice lobby café.
some noise even at 14th floor.
Good location and nice atmosphere in the hotel
The room was very dark
Doormen protective of guests. I was being scammed by a taxi driver (I later learned he could have lost his license) and the doorman chased him away. Beds were wonderfully comfortable
Room decor a little drab. Very brow. Would have been improved by a little lightness or color. The hallways and rooms need a little more cheer
The staff at this hotel were superb. Every single member of staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. The free wifi was constant and always worked; I always got a seat for breakfast; lunch; dinner and drinks at the bar/in the lounge (all of which were amazing). The location of this hotel is fantastic; the whole hotel was very clean and my standard room was always clean and the bed was SUPER large and extremely comfy. The black out blinds and choice of 3 curtain options to use were great too.
The hotel was extremely dark and very dimly lit to the point it made it hard to see at times (especially in the lift/elevator). My room was painted in a very dark colour and the room had no main light to it so I had to keep all the side lamps on and I even kept the bathroom light on at all times to be able to see more. The Mini-bar prices were very high with some sort of taxes were placed on top of what was quoted as the general price of items. (Food & Beverage tax?). Also, there was no kettle in the room (or any free refreshments) which would have been a nice touch. Housekeeping also knocked about 4 times a day, which although a positive, was a bit annoying despite a "do not disturb" sign being placed on the door. You could also hear them knocking all down the corridor at the strangest times of the day.
Quality of wifi
- slowness to replenish shower gels, toilet tissue etc - 'gatekeeper' on entry to seating area/bar
Me and my husband loved the launchaerea. Breakfast was excellent and so was the service. Beds were ok. Clean ok rooms. The gym was also good enough for à workout with à nice NY wiew and terass.
The first impression wasen't the best. Thought we arrived at the wrong place. It was dark and with no reception (A floor up) and no directions were to go. It feelt chabby but without the chic. The room was much smaller and less glamoureus then expected. But after a while it gro on us and ended up loving it.
The hotel is in a good location, the rooms were very well looked after, the bar prices are very expensive and the staff were very helpful.
Prices for rooms
Location, decor and staff in bar and at door.
Failure to deliver paper even after reminder, failure to deliver in room breakfast, failure to replace used toiletries. Double room but only 1 bathrobe & 1 face cloth!
The location is the best!
The style, buzz and super beds - oh and a spectacular view
Nothing at all
they don't offer well known beer brands but "specials" instead. It's nice to be different but at least offer one common beer brand like Heineken or Amstel light.
public areas quirky style
furnishings in room a bit tired
Location Door men welcome and help with luggage. They were friendlier and more welcoming than reception. Room was excellent. Meeting areas (bars) had a good atmosphere. Waiting staff all great.
Couldn't open a window in bedroom for fresh air. Smell of tobacco smoke in corridors. Managerial role staff aloof. No one wished me a happy birthday! Breakfast was of poor quality. Seemed to look as if pre made and stood for a while before served. This deterred us from booking an evening meal.
Everything- the art work the staff the position.
Rooms sizes can be a bit tight.
Lovely helpful staff /great location Amazing views of Empire State and Chrysler building
No nozzles with the hair dryer
Great stay, no fuss. Seriously comfortable beds, though a thinner pillow option would have been good.We were kindly upgraded as it was my wife's 40th, along with a glass of complementary champagne. Express check out was great. Helpful reception, concierge and door staff. Handy little gym. Appreciated the bed turn down service. View of uptown if you stretched your neck. Didn't try the bar or breakfast so can't comment on those.
Nothing to note.
Loved bar area, bedrooms super, beds very comfortable, location excellent. Staff very efficient and friendly.
Just be careful what room you get, some can be noisy if hotel has function on !
Room v comfy. great location. buzzy bar
