Very nice about storing our bikes in the luggage storage area. We were really excited about using the car service from the Sohotel to JFK, and the receptionist told us the $55 covered tax and tip all inclusive. We should have read the fine print; when we got there the driver told us the tip wasn't included so my husband tipped him $10, and then when we looked at the credit card receipt, the driver charged us $65 - so the trip ended up costing us $75 instead of $55. When we called the receptionist back she told us $55 is for cash and $65 for credit card, which was annoying because we had cash. She said they would try to get the $10 tip back from the driver, but we'll believe it when we see it. Too bad, it really left a bad taste in our mouths after a very nice stay. Hope this saves someone else from dealing with unscrupulous limo drivers.

The hotel staff were pleasant and accommodating. Housekeeping was excellent and some of the best I've seen. The hotel was clean in our room and throughout the hallways and lobby. The location of the hotel is ideal if you're looking to explore China Town, Little Italy, Soho, the Village and the Lower East Side. It was also conveniently located within walking distance to the subway. I would highly recommend the Sohotel.

Came as advertised except more noisy than expected. Next time I'll ask for a "back" room as advised by the desk staff. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. I loved being so near to Mulberry Street. Very easy to hail a cab at any time of day or night. Noise on Bowery Street.

I like the location in SoHo next to great shops and eateries also the botique design of the hotel. Noisy. Small rooms. Some broken furniture in my room. Reservations not organized. Seemed cautious of young people over more old "seemingly" people.

I did not like my stay. The toilet in my room was not functioning. I was placed in the room beside reception, which was filled with noise. I did request a room change and checked out the next day. I will not be coming back!

Great hotel! We stayed in a standard room with a queen size bed. The room was small, but still ok for two people. You won't be spending much time in there anyway. There was a great WIFI connection in the room (and other areas of the hotel)! No problem having a video conference through Skype, downloading movies from itunes etc. The Sohotel is in the middle of the Soho/Little Italy/China town area, which is just perfect. Shopping, bars, restaurants etc are within walking distance. Wold i book it again? Oh yes! It's nice AND cheap, and located just where you'd want to be.

The hotel was a compromise between location and expensive. This was the least expensive hotel that still provided decent location to access this part of Manhattan. The bathroom was nice. Our room faced Broome Street which was noisy at night. The room had air conditioning but it was noisy; could open the window for cool air, but the street was noisy. The room was small and cramped. There was no breakfast included.

The design was spectacular. Loved the zebra stripped furniture and the crystal bling on the chandelier/wall sconces. Staff was very friendly, location was perfect (walking distance to my event at the ymca Chinatown). Would stay there again. Thin walls - I could hear my neighbors clearly, and they weren't being loud (they were speaking at regular volume). No phones in the rooms to reach reception? I was on the 3rd floor.

It was clean and like the pictures- brick walls, nice looking, mod.Also- the room was as advertised. We had 2 full and 1 twin bed for 2 adults & 3 children 13, 10, 8. We had enough room for a family. So the room recommendations are valid. The staff was nice. Night desk not so friendly, morning desk, very nice giving out subway instructions & good map which I could have used day 1 and got on day 3. They do have a luggage room & will hold luggage after you check out which I thought was great. They do have a discount continental breakfast for under 3.00 (coffee & muffin)...we did not go as the place looked dark & closed - although I don't think it was. Complimentary coffee/tea in lobby area was also nice & they did have a soda & snack vending that was reasonably priced for nyc. The location is not near much, except china town, little Italy and some shopping (Lexington). For anyone touring NY...like Wall street area, mid town or uptown...I Would not recommend this location. Subways are 3-5 blocks away and after a long day- I don't know that it is worth taking a 30 min subway ride & then walking 5 blocks to get back to your room. Location is a bit gritty on Bowery & Broome. The Bowery has improved but its not midtown, there is still a homeless mission there, gritty storefronts & nobody on the street at 9pm..its a concern- even for me who loves nyc. No elevators & lots of steps...even up to the main lobby. The Doorman was pleasant & carried luggage Only 1 convenience store in the area (that we could find). It was perfectly fine except in a gritty location, kind of far away from things, there is not much to do in China Town or Little Italy but eat and buy knock off junk. Without extras like breakfast, fridge in room...the distance doesn't make it worthwhile.

Great location - easy to get to several subway stations and several great bars and restaurants. The rooms are extremely small - I couldn't actually walk around my bed. There was also a pipe running from the ceiling to the floor taking up even more space. The Wifi wasn't working while I was there which was extremely inconvenient, and even though the staff tried to help it's not the same as being able to use the internet at your leisure. Overall I thought the rooms were expensive for what you got (even by Manhattan standards). Look for better value - you'll find it.
