The location and the cleanness. We also enjoyed the restaraunts close to the hotel.
The noise during the night because of the closeness of a bar and other clients walking upstairs.
Some rooms are very good others not too good for the price I payed I should have the good rooms!
The not such good rooms were either too small or very noisy
Small bathrooms and bedrooms
Wi-fi Staff Location Decor
Noise reduction was poor No breakfast Size of bedroom
We liked the location. The room had no windows.
The bed was lumpy and gave me an hives. Didn't seem the sheets had been washed after someone with a dog stayed in the room (gross).
Excellent décor, good location and attentive staff.
Staff was very nice and helpful when looking for recommendations around the neighborhood.
The room and bathroom was uncomfortably small. Two people with luggage barely fits in the space; no desk space whatsoever. The bathroom can only accommodate one person at a time and the shower is tiny. After waking up we couldn't wait to get out of the room.
Not worth the money. No central air. No elevators. Room was stuffy and small. Not worth the price.
Great decor. Great location.
Hotel staff were superior in service and friendliness, recommending excellent restaurants, etc. Beds were super soft, and the walls were thick; slept perfectly both nights! Excellent location to visit the Tenement Museum.
Staff was amazing, rooms clean
This is a hotel with a nice vibe, friendly staff all in an excellent location
Busy hotel in a busy place means noise can be a little high. Rooms are on the small side, however well thought out and clean
Location is good, near the subway...
Room is very small for a 5 pax
Everything from location, the architecture, the excellent staff, cleanliness, comfort and nice interior design.
The staff was excellent and was there to help. The hotel itself was wonderful
location, rooms, access to rooms, hallway too dark, and low class. I didn't feel I was in hotel, but rather an outdated apartment building. Too expensive for the rate.
I loved that the hotel was situated right in the middle of busy little Italy, soho and a stroll to the up and coming lower east side Staff were friendly and upgraded me to a larger room free of charge
Bathroom was really small in my room although the room in general was massive. The shower water temperature changed between hot and cold which was annoying
The location is quite nice, near a subway.
Price vs value. Rooms are really small, hardly any place for suitcases. Airconditioning makes a ridiculous amount of noise, preventing it from running at night, so we had quite a bad sleep. Will pay a little more for more comfort next time.
very friendly and helpful staff, especially with luggage (no elevator). Reworked elements shown in pictures are as appear but many rooms are not shown in the pictures.
self contained air conditioning resulted in the room being musty. Furniture was old and not very functional.
updated, modern appearance, very comfortable beds, great location , lots of choices for food and drink very close.
some rooms have only a skylight. No elevator but helpful staff will assist with bags.
Its modern wifi close to little Italy close to trains good price
Bathroom shower could use more scrubbing room was very small close to china town which was very dirty no elevator
We stayed at Sohotel for 1 night, left New York the next morning, back 2 days after, and then realized I left my shawl at Sohotel. I called and they still kept my shawl! I directly got it back from the concierge. Thanks!! Location is easy to reach from Grand St subway station. Shower room was fine (not "bathroom", since there's no bath tub, hahaha). No problem with WiFi. Free morning tea/coffee in front of concierge desk.
No elevator to the concierge desk on the 2nd floor. They gave us room on the 3rd floor, got there without elevator, too. Family room for 5 pax is not too spacious. If you bring 5 big luggage for each guest, that won't work. Luckily we only brought 2 small-size luggage and 3 backpacks. Price was more expensive than a suite room of a more luxurious hotel nearby the famous Penn Station. We chose Sohotel mainly because our tour bus pick up point on the following early morning is nearby this hotel.
I like a small intimate hotel like this and the staff was so helpful and friendly.. Definitely going back there again
Walking distance from subway Coffee on tap at breakfast Helpful front desk - ask them for breakfast recommendations! Situated between Little Italy and Chinatown - great choice of restaurants
Aircon very noisy Rooms quite small (but this is NY) Hotel unsuitable for people with mobility problems - lots of stairs
Beds comfortable Wifi TV Coffee Pleasant reception Friendly staff
Music from bar below No couch in room No dining facilities just simple would have been good No refrigerator in room
