I did not like the area there.
I liked the bars which were near by the hotel.
Room very small. No place to put the suite case. Nice and clean room though.
Excellent location with lots of restaurants and bars just around the corner. Several subway stations nearby. Short walking distance to soho and east village.
expensive small room
location, bed, atmosphere
Did not have a bad experience
Welcoming of staff. Staff very perceptive of our needs.
The bathroom was tiny. The shower was terrible. The room itself, was also tiny and the walls were paper thin. It felt like a wall had been made to divide a room in half to make one room into two.
The main areas were very well decorated. The location was good.
My friends and I were in the five person room, which is much smaller than it appears online. With five girls and five massive suitcases we had a tight squeeze, but it wasn't as much of an issue as it would seem. We only got ready and slept in there, so it was fine for us and we enjoyed our stay.
The staff was very kind and helpful. The location is more by little italy and China town than soho, but it's a short walk to soho so it wasn't a big deal for us. There were tons of plugs, individual lights above beds, cool bathroom, free wifi, downstairs bar, felt safe-- overall good experience.
We could not get the shower to work at all. As we checked out they said to pull the hole at the end of the tap below the shower and that would start the shower head above. They really need to mention that or even show you once.
Location, service, beds.
I own a restaurant in Toronto, Canada and I was Really Impressed with the staff at the Sohotel. First rate!
The older accents and architecture gave it personality
Very very tiny room, very noisy, old shower system.
I Loved the SOHO feel of this hotel with the adorable boutique style. This was my second time here. Free WIFI and free coffee, tea or hot chocolate.
The staff was so friendly and helpful. They made our stay even more enjoyable.
wish the restaurant/bar downstairs had a bigger menu
everything was good overall
Wifi didn't work most of the time. Nothing special for the rates. No breakfast. Small, plain room.
Great location and that was it. I won't be staying there again.
No elevator and staying on top floor for seniors is tough. Room was dingy and felt unclean. Sheets were stained. No heat the morning. Shower is small and water pressure weak.
Location. Friendly staff at front desk. Some the the staff acted creepy like they may have been undocumented.
The manager was kind and helpful. the staff were fantastic and the rooms and hotel had great style
Loud hallways at night. Room to room sound separation is not great.
The bed was comfortable. Staff was courteous.
Very noisy!! Construction above and outside our room as well as noisy outside windows, poor insulation. No phone in room to contact front desk, no elevator! Poor control of room temperature, heat was in far corner of the room.
Very spacious room, cool lobby, nice doorman
Rooms are small, but for nyc is normal. Not very clean...work in progress all day long...noisy eating system.
position is simply great. Next to all the hottest spots in east village..and this is what I care about. WIFI was M A J O R
I requested a standard queen room but was placed in the standard triple (one double bed and one twin bed with no space for walking or storing luggage). There was no elevator and when we were checking out no one was available to carry our luggage, we did have help carrying them up, however which was extremely appreciated.
Location was excellent and the cost was the best I've found for such a well kept and nicely designed hotel. Staff was extremely accommodating - booking.com told us that our request for early check-in was approved but when we showed up at 1 PM the staff member checking us in told us they never guarantee early check in which is what I was originally told. They had our room prepared immediately and were apologetic and took responsibility even though it was not their mistake.
If there is anything I could see being improved...it would be great to have a mini fridge in the room.
The staff was among the best I've had in all my traveling so far, always someone ready to assist, very helpful and polite. Great location, a lot of everything close by, short walk to subwaystations and therefore easy to go anywhere in NY, groceryshops, restaurants and bars and shopping for clothes and stuff. My favorites were one of the hotel bars Bacchanal, excellent service, good drinks and cool atmosphere. But the highlight around the hotel is definitely little Italian restaurant at the corner...Piacere, recommended by the hotel. Probably the best pizza I've ever had and their creme brulee was amazing, everything organic made from scratch ! Even their soda was organic and you could recognise every ingredient on the label. It was great to have free wifi, as we were traveling with 6 teenagers/young adults who need their internet time :-) I am going to stay at Sohotel again next time I'm in New York.
There was no pressure at all in the shower The heater is weird, projecting steam and making a LOT of noice.
The hotel is nice and has charm The staff was really nice Its well located in waloing distance of east village houston str... Etc and next to many metros it has a nice cocktail bar next door
Room with two single beds looked very small and not so nice. The beds wear not next to each other but after each other in a narrow small room.
Room with two queen beds was good for 2 persons. Excellent location in the corner of Chinatown, Little Italy, LES and Nolita. Room and bathroom very clean and on the small side. Personnel was nivelreumaan and friendly. Would return on my next NYC trip.
The room was pretty tight. Walking in front of the bed you were touching the desk chair.
The staff were simply awesome and went out of their way to assist me. The room was nicely decorated.
