I loved the spa bath in my suite!
The decorations and staff were great.
No free WiFi
Great amenities, friendly staff, location, they allowed us to check in early and called us to notify that we left something behind.
Not being notified of construction ahead of time. I would give up a few of the free options for a lower price.
The quality of the room. Despite there being construction work right outside my room, I didn't hear any noise from this.
Friendly staff clean and quite place to stay Excellent pool bar in the summer
Located in the center of gas lamp and Very close to convention center
Good location, within walking distance of restaurants, shops and sightseeing tours. Good rooms, quiet at night even during Mardi Gras.
Really disappointed to drive for six hours and end up in a room in the middle of a construction zone...dirty and gross when we looked out the window...
The pool was nice and the bar was good.
The room was small for this price range.
close to restaurants and bars, nice pool and outside bar
parking is way to expensive and a rip off!
Coffee and newspaper in morning. Complementary wine and appetizer in pm. Wonderful location. Friendly staff
Barroom sink did not drain well. Countertop flooded after washing face. Did not get replacement bath mat and washcloth
Free cocktails, morning hot chocolate and coffee. Refreshing water
Parking ridiculously expensive. A real turn off. No free wifi unless you join honors program which we did
Service is excellent!
The pool was not heated when we arrived on day 1. Days 2 & 3 the pool area was not lit. Keys had to be rekeyed many times. Overall would not stay there again.
Trying to be too hip. Construction currently on all sides.
cocktail hour & pool
bed gave me a back ache & wifi should be free. also parking fee way too high. right now, too much noisy construction. Pool area is nice but needs a hottub!
Loved, loved, loved the location. Staff was wonderful. Room was pretty and comfortable! Will definitely stay here again!
Great location, and friendly staff. There is a free beer and wine get together in the evening with hot appetizers. They really take care of your special requests, so ask if you want something.
Parking is over $40 a day, that's ridiculous! Drunken debauchery from some of the guests can really impact your experience.
Location, hotel bikes
The room was ok a little tied the bathroom was very dirty around the toilet when the seat was down yuk! Outside hall way crumby there was a pizza box which had been outside one of the rooms all day.
They were working on pipes overnight and said the water would be shut down from 10pm to 6am. It was still off at 9am in the morning when I had to leave for the airport. Had to try and take a shower in two different rooms. It was not handled well.
Wine and beer tasting at 5pm nice. Coffee/tea in the am in the lobby nice since there is no coffeepot available in the rooms.
Pool too small- it is more of a wading pool (more for show), so not really roomy. If lots of guests are hanging out around the perimeter, a person is not able to swim. We went early in the am when no one was around so we could actually swim. No spa Beer and wine tasting - not enough variety of beer during the week always offered the same one all week long. Not enough appetizers available for everyone to enjoy, seating limited. Room was good, except the refrigerator is filled with the beverages for purchase so it is difficult to put your own groceries or beverages in the fridge if you need to, you need to take the other things out. I think this should be offered as part of your reservation package then you can choose to request this if you want it. All the items are way too expensive anyway and how old is everything???
PET POLICY, STAFF, GREAT VALUE
Location Decor Fitness centre Roof top pool
Unable to get on wifi
the overall location was fine except it's next door to a construction site that is REALLY LOUD and they start work at 7 am. If you get a room #01 to 14 on any of the 10-floors be ready get a 7 am wake up call every morning. Rooms were clean.
20-minutes to check in then the woman that checked us in gave us rooms 908 & 906. We checked in late and everything was fine. The at 7 am the NOISE started and didn't stop all day. BANG, BANG, BANG at 7 am. If they would have warned us we would have stayed somewhere else or asked to get rooms on the other side of the hotel but we weren't given that option. When we checked out the front desk guy apologized and said he'd knock off $41 parking (yep, that's right $41 per night to valet plus a tip for the guys that take too long to get the car). The funny thing is they charged me $82 for parking for both rooms and I had one car??? I didn't even argue at that point and had had enough of the Solamar. I will never stay there again or another Kimpton hotel as if it's OK to deceive their customers then I want nothing to do with that chain.
