At checking in we had to wait a long time while a customer jumped the queue to sort out her tours the receptionist knew we were next but ignored that fact. We only found out by chance about the tea and coffee. The bathrooms of the 2 rooms we stayed in were very poor and not updated at all. We changed rooms with no problem as the people above were so noisy. Got a different room but the second room was ok. Beware room 14 the fist room didn't have a bed side table for one person.
the overall location was great as it was off the main madness but near enough. The courtyard garden was pretty and relaxing. having tea and coffee bought out to have in the garden was lovely

The room was slightly dark but this might not be a problem for younger eyes than ours! There really was nothing to dislike about The Soniat
The Soniat is full of character, all of the staff we met were lovely, perfect location, the honesty bar is a nice little touch, wish we we could have stayed longer.

The decor was lovely but there was no dining at all in the hotel except coffee and scones. Staff were really nice though.

Not good value, poor facilities, poor breakfast, not very clean, bathroom workings poor, below par service, would not recommend
Location and atmosphere, staff helpful with bookings etc

We had no bad experiences on this trip.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The location was close enough to walk to almost everywhere in the French Quarter, but far enough away from all the noise and craziness of Mardi Gras on Bourbon Street.

Obscenely overpriced; rigid rescheduling/cancellation policies; poor lighting in room
Location; hotel courtyard

expensive, but would definitely stay there again.
Quaint and perfect location.

quaintness and service

Old building has some slight acoustic issues, but these were minor and pretty typical for a historic property.
Wonderfully romantic, staff was just terrific and made all interactions very pleasurable.

The hotel is old and the rooms were musty smelling which bothered my sinuses. Also wish there was more common space.
Location, staff was friendly and the hotels was clean. All important criteria for me.

More choice for breakfast

Nothing. Well, I wish there had been recycling and water conservation measures.
Staff, comfort, outdoor patios, honor bar, heated cream for my coffee, biscuits, quiet, banana trees and gardens.

Hall light came into room at night making it difficult to sleep and can hear your neighbors.
Beautiful hotel, great staff and perfect location.

1) Hot Biscuits for breakfast with coffee and fresh-pressed OJ. 2) Great location in a quiet corner of the French Quarter. Very close to Frenchman Street. 3) Gorgeous balcony room

the bed was quite uncomfortable
architecture and inner courtyard were lovely, location - could walk to everything but not too close to action to be disturbed by it, courteous staff with excellent suggestions for restaurants

Like stepping back into time, except with the modern conveniences - beautifully restored small luxury hotel with genteel staff - right in the French Quarter but quiet as can be. Would recommend this treasure to anyone

I have no negative comments about this place.
The charm. The location. The serene courtyard. The honor bar. The staff's professionalism.

True feeling of staying in someone's home. Aroma of lobby and Toiletries by Molton Brown, two thumbs up. Old charm feel.

This is a wonderful hotle, but this was my first visit, I should have requested a room with a desk for doing a small amount of correspondence.
The entire ambience was old New orleans style and grace- a wonderful respite for the hustle of the city.

This wonderful gem was such a surprise. On our yearly visit to New Orleans, we found our regular hotel full. In the future we will be hoping to get reservations at Soniat House. Unbelievable southern hospitality. Exceptional management and fabulous staff. If that was not enough, we were moments from Jackson Square. Soniat House was the Perfect ending to a great vacation. See you in September!

Very thin walls. We could hear everyone when they can in. Other then that it was a wonderful place.
I loved the hotel itself. Lots of character. Staff was great.
